"An Ruoxue, where are you running to!"
An Ruoxue's expression darkened instantly, caught between powerful foes ahead and relentless pursuers trailing behind, leaving her trapped in a dire bind.
"Miss, what do we do now?"
Xia Lu questioned with deep worry.
An Ruoxue gritted her teeth and commanded Xia Lu.
"Charge through, fight him!"
"Alright!"
Xia Lu nodded firmly in response.
Su Ming observed An Ruoxue dashing toward him and lifted his hand happily, preparing to welcome her.
In that instant, An Ruoxue abruptly triggered her Symbiotic Armor enveloping her entire form and unleashed a fierce high roundhouse kick, slamming squarely into Su Ming's chest.
Bam!
Su Ming flew backward from the impact, crashing to the ground with utter confusion on his face.
An Ruoxue felt shocked too; this individual's fighting prowess in Advanced Reproductive Armor proved surprisingly feeble, downed by a single strike.
No time to dwell on it now—she swiftly guided her team past Su Ming.
Su Ming scrambled to his feet and yelled out.
"Ruoxue, it’s me!"
An Ruoxue caught Su Ming's voice and froze; it rang so familiar in her ears.
The instant realization hit, she whipped around, dashed back, seized Su Ming’s hand, and urged.
"Quick, run."
Su Ming jogged a few steps alongside her before yanking An Ruoxue to a halt and queried in exasperation.
"Why are we running?"
"Huh?"
An Ruoxue blinked in surprise, momentarily at a loss.
Right then, Conriv arrived with his band of followers in hot pursuit, bellowing with glee.
"Let’s see where you run this time!"
"Why do we have to run?"
Su Ming grinned and remarked to Conriv.
"Su, Su Ming, quick, take him down!"
Conriv spotted him right away, his face twisting in sheer horror.
Several underlings lifted their beam guns.
"It’s too late to react now!"
Su Ming engaged his Dragon Scale Armor enhancement, blurring forward like a phantom, and before they could lock on, he swiftly dispatched the grunts one after another. Their Exoskeleton Armor crumbled under Su Ming’s blows without resistance.
Conriv witnessed his men falling so effortlessly and spun around to escape.
But he stood no chance against Su Ming's speed; Su Ming closed in and felled him with a precise hand chop.
Xia Lu and the rest stared in astonishment at the display. Su Ming's velocity and strength surpassed any human boundaries, portraying him as some kind of beast.
"It’s done."
Su Ming hoisted the knocked-out Conriv and informed An Ruoxue.
"Mm-hmm, let’s go quickly!"
An Ruoxue beamed radiantly and replied.
"Alright!"
Su Ming agreed with a nod.
An Ruoxue and her group departed alongside Su Ming.
Moments later, they slipped into a rundown metallic structure, concealing themselves in a hidden chamber.
"Su Ming, I missed you so much."
Once safety was assured, An Ruoxue threw her arms around Su Ming in thrill and declared.
"Ahem, can’t you be more reserved, there are people around."
Su Ming chuckled lightly and pointed out.
Xia Lu and the others sheepishly averted their gazes.
"Alright."
An Ruoxue grinned and let go.
"Did you come here to rescue Emkain?"
Su Ming shifted to the matter at hand.
"Yes, we came ahead to scout."
"How is the scouting going?"
"The enemy’s vigilance is strong, didn’t obtain much useful information."
An Ruoxue answered with a hint of frustration.
"Isn’t there someone ready here to interrogate."
Su Ming glanced at the out-cold Conriv and noted.
"Xia Lu, splash water to wake him up."
An Ruoxue directed Xia Lu.
"Yes!"
Xia Lu hurried to grab a basin of water and doused Conriv with it.
Conriv snapped awake at once, and upon seeing his surroundings and captors, panic filled his features as he demanded.
"What do you want?"
"Nothing, just honestly disclose your troop deployment, operation plan..."
Su Ming stated icily to Conriv.
"Forget it, I won’t tell you anything."
Conriv shuddered visibly, yet his words stayed stubborn.
"Then don’t blame us for being rude, Xia Lu, break his fingers one by one."
Su Ming skipped the small talk.
"Yes!"
Xia Lu stepped up and seized Conriv’s left hand.
"What are you doing? My father won’t let you go, ah!"
Conriv's words cut short as his finger snapped, the agony ripping a slaughterhouse shriek from him.
Xia Lu pressed on indifferently, targeting the next finger.
"I’ll talk."
Conriv surrendered instantly.
An Ruoxue cautioned Conriv.
"You’d better cooperate honestly, don’t play tricks, we have some intel in our hands, if it doesn’t match, you won’t want to know the consequences."
"Yes."
Conriv replied in terror.
"How many weapons are deployed over at the plaza?"
An Ruoxue parted her lips to question.
"Plenty of us, scattered all throughout the underground, including Holy Temple Knights and a number of Holy Temple Knight candidates."
"What's your operation plan?"
"Lure you out and seize you all at once—Lord Du Saka shifted every force here, filling inside and outside the city, across the entire planet with our people. Attack if you dare, and we'll wipe you out completely. I've shared all I know."
Conriv shook as he delivered his words.
"Is that everything?!"
Su Ming stared icily at Conriv before demanding.
"No..."
Conriv's gaze flickered away dodgily as he answered.
Su Ming's eyes chilled further as he declared.
"Last chance!"
"Emkain has a miniature bomb embedded in his body, ready to detonate anytime."
Conriv quivered violently while confessing.
Su Ming and An Ruoxue's faces darkened immediately upon hearing this—the scheme was utterly vicious.
"I've revealed everything I know; can you release me now?"
Conriv begged, trembling all over.
"I never promised to spare you, though I can grant you a swift end."
Su Ming shot his hand out and wrenched Conriv's neck.
Crunch!
Conriv met his end before he could even twitch, his features locked in shocked denial right at death.
"Xia Lu, stash Conriv's corpse in the inner chamber."
An Ruoxue directed Xia Lu.
"Yes!"
Xia Lu swiftly hauled Conriv's body away inside.
Right then, An Ruoxue beamed brightly at Su Ming and inquired with curiosity.
"Su Ming, why are you here? Isn't the Federation locked in battle against every faction?"
"Well..."
Su Ming paused briefly, at a loss for words—how could he admit seeking their aid when the Divine Word Legion and King's Army suffered so terribly now?
"Su Ming, did you rush here just to save me after learning I was in peril?"
An Ruoxue caught Su Ming's hesitation and grinned while teasing.
"Kind of."
Su Ming coughed lightly before going along with it.
"I knew you're the best."
"Enough of that—where's your father and the rest?"
"They're holed up in the fortress nearby."
"Then let's head to them."
"Okay!"
An Ruoxue nodded eagerly.
