Previously on Shadows of the Deep Space...
Novlin swiftly powered up the Jet Wings, soaring upward to dodge the assault.
BOOM!
An azure magnetic storm erupted with fury.
Right then, the Green Wing Mecha under Novlin's control plunged toward Conritan, unleashing a ferocious slash.
Conritan hoisted the Alloy Giant Blade to block nonstop, his entire mecha forced backward relentlessly.
Su Ming, observing this scene, was now convinced of Novlin's inevitable triumph. However, as he shifted his gaze to the other teammates, a deep frown creased his brow.
The two Gun Knights held their ground better, exchanging fierce blows with their foes.
Yet Mato and Ba’an faced a grueling fight, their predicament turning extremely perilous.
The four Beast Mechas clashed in a brutal melee.
Deep gashes marred the mechas on both sides, revealing tangled internal circuits.
Despite the damage, neither faction yielded, battling with desperate ferocity!
In that instant, Su Ming watched as Mato piloted the Beast Mecha to barely evade the enemy's slash, then countered by swinging the Alloy Giant Blade at their right shoulder.
CRACK!
The mechanical right arm severed clean off in a flash.
Mato pulled back the Alloy Giant Blade, gearing up for another strike on the foe.
Suddenly, the opposing Beast Mecha lifted its hand and called out.
“Wait….”
Spotting the surrender, Mato halted at once.
Then, the Beast Mecha abruptly pulled back, exposing its missile bay.
It unleashed a barrage of Magnetic Bombs!
The Magnetic Bombs latched instantly onto Mato’s Mecha chest.
BOOM BOOM BOOM~
Explosions ripped through nonstop, utterly wrecking the Beast Mecha.
“Mato!”
Mei Lu cried out in panic.
Novlin was stunned, poised to rush in.
“Don’t even think about it!”
Conritan sneered, steering his mecha to intercept the Green Wing.
A flicker of rage crossed Novlin’s face; she abruptly engaged Overclocking Mode, slashing forward with savage force.
Conritan jolted in alarm, hastily raising the Alloy Giant Blade to parry!
The Alloy Giant Blade got flung aside effortlessly.
Novlin followed with a reverse slash straight at the cockpit.
“No!”
CRACK!
The cockpit of Conritan’s Beast Mecha split open, vaporizing him instantly.
“Oh yeah!”
The crowd exploded in triumphant cheers as Conritan fell.
The female host yelled with thrill.
“Look, Deputy Corps Commander Novlin has eliminated Conritan—the tide has turned once more!”
Without pause, Novlin surged at the crippled Beast Mecha, dual Beam Sabers crossed and gleaming.
CRACK!
It fell without a fight, no question.
The surviving Beast Mechas surrendered outright; with captain Conritan gone, victory was impossible.
“The fourth team of the Holy Army triumphs! They advance to the top sixteen—give them a roaring cheer!”
The female host bellowed in excitement.
“Novlin!”
The audience roared with fervor.
Novlin urgently piloted her mecha, grabbing the wrecked Beast Mecha and speeding to their platform.
Su Ming rose upon seeing this and declared.
“Trouble’s brewing, I’m heading over to check!”
“I’ll come too.”
Hokas dropped his cheeky grin and offered.
Ankaga and Zhang Yi leaped up promptly as well.
Su Ming and his group dashed over.
…..
On the preparation platform, the mangled Beast Mecha cockpit was forcibly wrenched apart.
Mato was hauled out, his face smeared in blood.
“Mato, hang in there—we’re rushing you to the hospital right now!”
Novlin, eyes rimmed red, urged Mato.
“Lord Novlin, you have to win….”
Blood trickled from Mato’s mouth as he spoke to Novlin.
“Got it, you’ll pull through for sure—promise me, stay strong!”
Novlin nodded firmly.
“Mm.”
Mato mustered a faint smile at Novlin’s words, then medics whisked him away.
Novlin stared as Mato was taken off, her face turning grim and quiet.
Then, the frantic maintenance mechanic approached and reported.
“Lord Novlin, Mato’s Beast Mecha is totaled, Ba’an’s is heavily damaged and beyond quick fixes. Mei Lu’s Gun Knight took hits too—manual repairs only now.”
“Understood, get to work on the repairs.”
Novlin drew a steadying breath and instructed.
“Yes.”
The mechanic acknowledged swiftly.
Just then, Su Ming and the others arrived at the preparation platform.
“Novlin, what’s the status?”
“It’s bad—Mato’s critically hurt and off to the hospital, two mechas are out, leaving just three operational.”
Novlin replied, sounding downcast.
“Don’t we have backups? Count me in to help.”
Su Ming volunteered upon hearing.
Novlin blinked in surprise, looked up at Su Ming, and hesitated.
“Wouldn’t that be improper?”
“Nonsense—what’s improper about it? I haven’t piloted a Third Generation Mecha in ages; my hands are itching for action!”
Su Ming grinned.
“Given the mess, skip the formalities—I’ll pitch in too!”
Hokas chuckled.
At that point, Ankaga and Zhang Yi stepped forward, adding.
“We can join the fight as well.”
“No chance for you two; there are no mechas available for you.”
Su Ming told Ankaga and Zhang Yi.
“Fine.”
Replied Ankaga and Zhang Yi with regret.
Right at that moment, Anton Lu, Akufa, and the rest piloted their mechas up, inquiring with worry.
“Novlin, is the team alright?”
“They’re badly hurt and rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.”
Novlin drew a deep breath before responding.
“How many mechas remain for battle?”
“Three.”
“Only three? That’s not nearly enough—why not forfeit the upcoming rounds?”
Akufa tried to convince Novlin.
“No way.”
Novlin shook her head firmly in response.
“Why such stubbornness? This is for your benefit. As for claiming the championship, leave it to me—I’ll seize it myself.”
