Shadows of the Deep Space Chapter 1703: 541: Carnival (Part 2)

Fia lowered the car window, beaming with delight as she called out.
“Brother Anward, it’s me!”
“Fia, it’s you. Why are you here?”
“I’m here to find my big sister!”
“Alright, go on in!”
Anward gestured with his hand while speaking.
“Okay!”
Fia then steered the car inside.
The base's interior sprawled out hugely, kids racing around and frolicking in all directions.
Before long, the jeep halted beneath a boxy building displaying a massive sign.
“Holy Club!”
Su Ming felt a touch of astonishment that their base was actually a club, yet it fit perfectly.
“We’ve arrived!”
Fia announced with a grin.
“Hmm, Ankaga, Zhang Yi, go find somewhere to relax. No need to tag along. I’ll summon you if required.”
Su Ming instructed the pair.
“Okay, then can we go out for a walk?”
Ankaga and Zhang Yi inquired eagerly.
“Alright, but don’t wander too far, and stay safe.”
“Got it!”
….
The Holy Club's backyard.
Two veteran Gun Knights clashed fiercely with two Barbarian Beasts in grueling training, their weapons sparking on impact.
“When attacking, target the vital spots! If not completely certain, hold back a third of your power…”
Novlin, clad in worn exoskeleton armor, scolded sternly.
Right then, a fresher Fourth Generation Mecha·Blood Falcon neared Novlin and popped open its cockpit.
Hokas leaped out gracefully, flashing a bright smile as he addressed Novlin.
“Novlin, being so harsh isn’t good; you might stay single forever.”
“That’s not your business. What do you want?”
Novlin faced Hokas, questioning coolly.
“Free for dinner tonight?”
Hokas asked with a playful smirk.
Novlin eyed Hokas oddly and replied.
“Why? Don’t you have a date today? What about all your girls?”
“Do I look like that type? I’m genuinely asking you out.”
“No, I’m not going.”
“Come on, after all these years together, you’re turning me down?”
“Exactly because we’ve known each other so long and I know your type, I’m saying no!”
“Don’t be so stiff. Just take my invite. Otherwise, still at stage one years from now, how embarrassing!”
Hokas chuckled.
“Scram!”
Novlin snapped irritably.
As Hokas opened his mouth to respond,
Fia led Su Ming in, yelling excitedly.
“Big Sister!”
“Fia, why are you here?”
Novlin asked in mild shock.
Before Fia could reply, Hokas jumped in merrily toward her.
“Hey, Fia, free tonight? Dinner’s on me.”
“No chance! Did you swallow the wrong pill? Or get dumped?”
Fia shot Hokas a scornful look.
“How’s that possible?”
Hokas wore a helpless expression.
“Fia, pay him no mind.”
Novlin told Fia,
“Mm, mm, big sister, check out who I brought!”
Fia presented with enthusiasm.
Novlin and Hokas glanced back at Fia’s side.
Just then, Su Ming eased off his hood, offering a smile in greeting.
“Miss Novlin.”
“Lord Su Ming!”
Novlin cried out in astonishment.
“Isn’t this the Federation’s pretty boy? Wait, now a Federation General, wow!”
Hokas froze briefly, then burst in surprise.
“Brother Hai, long time no see!”
Su Ming grinned and hailed Hokas.
“Brother Hai, who?”
Hokas queried, baffled.
“You, of course—well earned!”
Su Ming remembered him vividly, a real playboy, master at charming women.
“Haha, a Federation General calling me Brother Hai? I’m flattered. Brother, dinner together tonight?”
Hokas promptly invited Su Ming.
Novlin frowned darkly.
“Hokas, you lost your mind? Inviting guys too!”
“What? It’s just bromance admiration, right, brother?”
Hokas claimed, winking slyly at Su Ming.
“Scram!”
Su Ming shot back with a scowl.
“Oh man, why do you both tell me to scram?”
Hokas lamented helplessly.
“Lord Su Ming, ignore him. What brings you here suddenly?”
Novlin wondered, confused.
The Federation waged war against Apocalypse and Dark Star at present, so your presence here was unexpected.
“I came seeking you; I need a private word.”
Su Ming told Novlin.
Hokas, catching that, tugged Fia aside and whispered.
“Fia, Lord Su Ming wants privacy, so let’s leave. My treat for dinner.”
“I’m not going!”
“Relax, no tricks.”
Hokas dragged Fia off.
“Ah, I don’t want to…”
Fia protested while pulled away.
Su Ming watched with slight concern and asked.
“Is this alright?”
“No issue, Hokas means well. Lord Su Ming, eaten yet?”
Novlin smiled.
“Not yet.”
“Hold on; I’ll change quickly.”
Novlin said to Su Ming.
“Alright!”
Su Ming agreed, waiting in place.
Novlin spun around and rushed off.
Soon after, Novlin came back in a somewhat faded, creased blue dress.
Even though the dress looked inexpensive, it failed to diminish Novlin’s stunning figure or beauty.
