Capítulo 1700: Chapter 540: Cutting Off the Source (Part 5)
“Otaine, are you really giving no face to the Emperor? You’ll regret it later!”
Fergus hurled the threat at Otaine.
“Haha!”
Right then, Kadonmo and the rest exploded into scornful laughter, eyeing Fergus like a complete moron.
Folks from the Land of Lost had zilch to lose, utterly unafraid of any intimidation.
Prince Fergus's face muscles spasmed as he endured the jeers; this crew was downright deranged!
Were it not for the Dark Star Empire's full-scale assault on the Federation, he wouldn't waste breath on them.
Otaine then addressed Prince Fergus in a frosty voice.
“Fergus, don’t waste your efforts. Escort the guest out!”
“Fine, fine, fine!”
Prince Fergus said no more, spun around, and stormed off with a darkened expression.
Once Prince Fergus departed.
A sturdy-built man with a stern face and sunken eyes, perched on the final seat, spoke up to Otaine.
“Father, isn’t it unwise to chase off Prince Fergus that way? We ought to weigh his last offer; just stalling the Holy Army violates no rules, pleases the Emperor, and brings us maximum gains….”
Before finishing, Otaine grabbed the nearby tea cup and flung it right at the man's face, declaring icily.
“Shut up.”
“Yes, father.”
The man clamped his mouth shut right after the strike.
Hovido then mocked.
“Little brother, quit showing off your petty plots.”
“Second brother’s scolding is right.”
Fager bowed his head quietly.
Of the six siblings, he ranked lowest in their father's esteem.
Otaine stood from his throne, sweeping a savage look over all, and declared.
“The Land of Lost endures here through the years solely due to our rules. Any who shatter them, I'll claim their head myself, no matter their identity.”
“Yes!”
All chorused back instantly.
“Dismissed!”
Otaine commanded the group.
Fager and others then rose and departed.
…
Shortly after.
Fager went back to his villa, slumped into the hall's chair, his countenance ashen beyond measure.
Just then, a white-haired old butler in tailcoat drew near, whispering to Fager.
“Young master, a messenger from the Dark Star Empire requests to meet.”
“Bring him in.”
Fager's face shifted before he replied.
“Yes, clear out everyone!”
The butler ordered the hall servants.
“Yes!”
Servants all retreated.
The butler pivoted and exited.
Quickly, Prince Fergus stepped in, grinning as he greeted.
“Young Master Fager!”
“What brings you here? If it's the Holy Army matter, leave now.”
Fager cut straight to it.
Prince Fergus stayed unruffled, beaming as he replied.
“Master Fager, if I'm right, your inclinations favor our Dark Star Empire.”
“And if they do?”
“It just shows your father clings stubbornly, ignoring your counsel.”
“How do you know?”
Fager queried, brows knitting.
“No need to probe; we possess our methods.”
“Hmph, even if I'm sympathetic to you, so what? Useless.”
“Young Master Fager, take this.”
Prince Fergus offered the V-type Gene Potion to Fager.
Fager refused it, retorting darkly.
“Think this sways me? Father won't yield, and I can't sway him.”
“Young Master Fager, ever thought of replacing him?”
Prince Fergus grinned wickedly.
Fager's gaze flashed keenly yet swiftly calmed, responding casually.
“Prince Fergus, you don't seriously believe one V-type Gene Potion lets me seize control, right?”
“Young Master Fager, the Dark Star Empire wields real sway in the Land of Lost!”
Prince Fergus hinted slyly.
“Even then, insufficient; father and brothers aren't pushovers. Don't overrate your power—if you were strong enough, why beg us for Holy Army help?”
Tempted though he was, Fager kept his head.
“What if they all perished, Young Master Fager?”
Prince Fergus questioned with a wide smirk.
“Prince Fergus, that's no laughing matter.”
Fager's pulse raced, eyes locking on Fergus doubtfully.
“Joke or truth, come see for yourself—you'll grasp it!”
Prince Fergus lured.
“Fine, show me what you've got.”
Fager hesitated then agreed.
“This way, please!”
Prince Fergus invited smilingly.
Fager trailed after Prince Fergus and went out.
More than an hour passed.
Prince Fergus guided Fager to the Dark Star Empire's hidden outpost in Lost City.
Through multiple guard posts they went, reaching an elevator.
Both boarded the elevator.
Doors sealed, it plunged below.
Soon arriving at basement one, doors parted.
Fager's eyes bulged, ecstasy flooding his features.
“This is….”

Days afterward.
Within Dark Forest Starry Sky.
Thunder Extreme raced ahead swiftly, Su Ming lounging in the command seat cradling Little Grey.
Little Grey stretched a lazy paw, indicating a direction.
Timi promptly altered the ship's path.
