Capítulo 1698: Chapter 540: Undermining the Foundation (Part 3)
Shu’en along with his companions felt sheer terror from the unexpected strike. However, they rapidly grasped the situation and cried out in exhilaration.
“It’s our reinforcements!”
…
Within the primary control chamber of the Level 5 Mother Ship·Jiao Sha.
Trembling with fear, Condal reported to General Weibite.
“General, scans confirm the Star Destroyer·Thunder Extreme’s presence. Our support vessel has been destroyed.”
“Damn it!”
Weibite snarled in fury.
Right then, Hejassi’s mocking voice echoed across the open comms channel.
“Trash, keep acting all high and mighty!”
“Hejassi, don’t get too smug. Reinforcements don’t make you invincible.”
Weibite shot back through clenched teeth.
“Oh, really?”
Suddenly, a composed voice rang out over the public comms.
“Who are you?”
Weibite responded to the unfamiliar voice with rising alarm.
“You’re striking my allies, yet you don’t recognize me?”
Su Ming stated icily.
Weibite caught on immediately, his tone quivering slightly.
“You’re Su Ming!”
“Not entirely clueless, huh?”
Su Ming responded coolly.
“Even with you present, what of it? We fear nothing from you!”
Weibite’s frame shook uncontrollably.
“Fine, if you’re so bold, then remain here!”
Su Ming answered nonchalantly.
“No worries, I’m plenty bold. Just hold on, I’ll summon backup. If you’ve got guts, stick around.”
Forgetting all pride, Weibite urgently ordered his crew.
Moments later, the Dark Star Empire’s fleet spun about in panic and bolted away frantically.
“…”
Witnessing this, Su Ming stood momentarily stunned.
“Fleeing already? Brothers, pursue them!”
Hejassi commanded the mecha squad, poised to hunt them down.
Then Su Ming’s instruction blared over the comms.
“Hejassi, hold the chase!”
“Huh? General, with you leading, why fear those cowards?”
Hejassi questioned puzzledly.
“I’m genuinely wary—their primary fleet approaches fast. Pull back now!”
Su Ming warned Hejassi.
Their Emperor commanded the vanguard personally. Though arrival at Danube Star Sea shouldn’t be swift under normal jumps, a Curvature Ring might change that.
“Got it!”
Hejassi and his team swiftly headed back to the Thunder Extreme.
Meanwhile, Queen Hai Lan and Catherine of the Red made for the Star Destroyer·Thunder Extreme too.
…
In the Thunder Extreme’s hangar bay.
Cockpits on docked mechas hissed open.
Shu’en, Hejassi, Queen Hai Lan, and Catherine descended lightly from their machines.
“Everyone, it’s been ages!”
Beaming widely, Su Ming advanced and greeted them.
“Brother Su Ming!”
Catherine rushed forward thrilled, enveloping Su Ming in a tight embrace.
“Catherine, you’ve matured a lot since our last encounter.”
Su Ming grinned, ruffling her hair gently.
“Brother Su Ming, that’s not true! You’ve ignored me for ages.”
Catherine sulked playfully at him.
“Catherine, mind your manners. Lord Su Ming has heavy responsibilities.”
Queen Hai Lan drew near and chided softly.
“Alright.”
Catherine agreed meekly.
“Lady Hai Lan, ages since we met. Doing well?”
Su Ming smiled cordially.
“Quite well, all owing to Lord Su Ming. Without your aid, Crimson Country wouldn’t thrive like this!”
Queen Hai Lan voiced sincere thanks.
Crimson Country’s resurgence and recent prosperity stemmed directly from Su Ming’s support.
“Politeness unnecessary—we stand united.”
Su Ming smiled back.
Now Shu’en and Hejassi stepped up, bowing respectfully to Su Ming.
“Lord Su Ming.”
“Shu’en, Hejassi! You’ve endured much these years.”
Su Ming clapped their shoulders warmly.
“Just fulfilling our roles.”
Shu’en and Hejassi answered tensely.
They itched to banter as before, yet Su Ming now held Federation General rank.
“Drop the stiffness. You’ve excelled lately. I’ve got presents for you both—you’ll love them!”
Noticing their unease, Su Ming chuckled reassuringly.
“What presents?”
Shu’en and crew blinked in surprise.
“This way!”
Su Ming guided them to the adjacent storage zone.
Quickly, they reached two massive mech containers.
“Ankaga, unlock them!”
Su Ming directed Ankaga.
“Yes!”
Ankaga advanced, hitting the release on the containers.
Ka!
The containers parted, exposing a V Generation Mecha·Illusion Dragon (standard version) and a V Generation Mecha·Extreme Ice Messenger (standard version).
Shu’en and Hejassi gaped at the mechas before them.
“This….”
“These are your rewards!”
Su Ming declared smilingly.
“Su Ming, you’re serious?”
Shu’en’s voice quavered.
“Dead serious. Fond of them?”
Su Ming grinned.
“Absolutely! I’ve longed for a true V Generation Mecha!”
Hejassi beamed ecstatically, hurrying to stroke the Illusion Dragon’s leg—after all, their pseudo V Gens were merely loaned from Crimson Country.
“Thrilled you approve. Now, let’s grab drinks to toast this joyful gathering.”
Su Ming nodded, then proposed cheerfully.
“Yay!”
Catherine cheered, clapping delightedly.
“Haha!”
….
Three days passed.
In the Thunder Extreme’s central control room.
Su Ming lounged askew on the captain’s seat, hand propping his chin, appearing somewhat dazed.
Meanwhile, Zhang Yi and allies clashed fiercely online at the Star Cluster Forum with foes from Dark Star Empire and Heavenly Revelation Divine Country.
“These scoundrels!”
“Such outrageous arrogance!”
