Shadows of the Deep Space Chapter 1681 537: The Tolling Bell_3
Previously on Shadows of the Deep Space...
Abruptly, the holographic projection ends, displaying endless rows of bio-pods flooding into sight.
Cloned soldiers are submerged inside every bio-pod.
While these cloned soldiers can't match the Void Legion's elite, each one boasts tremendous power.
"Alright, my soldiers, awaken."
At the Emperor's order, vast numbers of bio-pods discharged their nutrient fluids.
One by one, scarlet eyes snapped open.

Far within the twisting space-time of the wormhole.
The modified VI Generation Mecha·Purgatory Blade, soaring 120 meters high with a fierce gryphon metal head, its frame crafted from scarce crimson metal etched with elaborate designs, a glowing red circle in its chest core, deadly metal talons glinting with menace, a blood-red metal sword sheathed at its side, a blazing sun symbol etched on its torso, six pairs of shadowy crimson wings mounted on its back, radiating an icy terror, hurtled swiftly from the remote cosmos.
Within the cockpit.
Kroos turned to Pamie.
"Are you sure we're heading in the right direction? I haven't seen anything so far."
"Yes, the Forbidden God Abyss is just ahead!"
Pamie replied hoarsely to Kroos.
"Have you been here before?"
Kroos inquired, eyes gleaming sharply.
"Hmph, more than once! Back in the day, when the Federation waged war against the Chilami and the Mechanical Clan, a battle broke out near the Forbidden God Abyss."
Pamie told Kroos.
Kroos opened his mouth to respond but then beheld a stunning spectacle.
A fathomless chasm yawned in the distant stars, pitch-black and hollow, resembling an insatiable void devouring all, even light itself pitilessly.
This massive void closely resembled the Abyss of Descent's gateway, though its immense size dwarfed that one.
Furthermore, a closer look revealed it had expanded even more since then.
A primal sense of peril gripped Kroos, prompting him to ask Pamie.
"Is this the Forbidden God Abyss?"
"Yes, back then Herares Clan Leader and Chilami Clan Leader forcibly entered here, seeking the Divine Artifact within. Later, Dragon String Council President pursued them with the Dark Star Emperor and the Fanluo God Emperor into the abyss, and the three sides fought fiercely for the Divine Artifact within. Ultimately, Dragon String won and came out with the Divine Artifact and numerous Primordial Stones, leading to today's Federation!"
Gazing at the Forbidden God Abyss, Pamie spoke with tangled feelings.
"So that's how it is. But I'm really curious, what was that Divine Artifact that drove the two clan leaders mad, even leading the Dark Star Emperor and Fanluo God Emperor to rebel against the Federation?"
Kroos questioned, brimming with curiosity.
"You don't need to know that. Hurry up and go!"
Pamie refused to reveal it to Kroos.
"Are you sure we should go down? Just because Dragon String and the others survived, doesn't mean we can too. This Forbidden God Abyss is probably not just ordinarily dangerous."
Kroos ignited a cigarette and inhaled deeply.
"There's no choice despite the danger. Although this Purgatory Blade has been modified significantly by me, enhancing its performance substantially, it's far from enough! And Herares Clan Leader has been keeping an eye on me, so I don't have enough materials to craft a top-tier VI Generation Mecha. You now have to take a risk to retrieve the Primordial Stone, and if fate leads you to perish within, so be it!"
Pamie offered no promise of their survival.
"Alright, where do we enter?"
A faint smile crossed Kroos's face.
"Follow the flight path I've provided, gradually entering! Though the Forbidden God Abyss is shrouded in darkness and void, with hardly any celestial bodies or matter inside, any discovered matter is bound to be precious!"
Pamie instructed Kroos.
"Understood!"
Kroos guided the Purgatory Blade cautiously inside.

Starlight City·K17 District.
In the opulent hall of a majestic villa.
Xinlad stormed inside like a raging lion, trailed by Naz and the others wearing grim faces.
The hall's maids caught sight of Xinlad's wrathful visage and bowed their heads in dread.
Xinlad strode to the guest table, slammed his palms down with a contorted face, then violently overturned it.
Bang~
The table crashed to the floor, shattering fine crystal tea sets into fragments.
The present maids quaked in terror, dropping to their knees without daring to look up.
"Sir, please calm down!"
Naz and the rest rushed to placate him.
"Calm down for what? I've had enough! How many credits have I earned for the Federation, how much effort have I put in, and yet? How does the Federation repay me? The two generals' positions, and I have none! Su Ming taking one, fine, since that guy's truly a freak. But Mo Xiu? Why does he get to be selected as a general!!!"
Xinlad roared through clenched teeth.
Though Su Ming irked him deeply, he had pored over Su Ming's records and past victories.
That man was indeed a freakish powerhouse.
Particularly his solo stand against Sakari Captain, Asya Captain, and Kroos simultaneously—no small feat!
He knew deep down he couldn't replicate it.
"Sir, the final selection was certainly unfair."
Naz muttered through gritted teeth.
"These bastards claim fairness and justice on the surface, but where is it? Mo Xiu may have achieved great merit, but the VI Generation Mecha·Thunder Angel he drives overshadows the Fake VI Generation Mechas attacking him. Give me Thunder Angel, and I could just as well defeat them, perhaps even more impressively!"
