Shadows of the Deep Space Chapter 1661: 533: Bai Yuyi_5
Su Ming responded, feeling a sharp pain in his temples.
“Don’t say such things. If you just help me apprehend Pamie and strip away its consciousness, then let me absorb it, I would be invincible!” Celeste remarked with a burst of excitement.
“I beg of you, I asked you to handle it, not for you to ask me to catch it.”
“Precisely. My processing capacity hasn’t been upgraded yet. You must capture it first so I can consume it to boost my core performance. Only then can I emerge victorious! You cannot expect a horse to gallop without feeding it fodder, can you?”
“If I actually possessed the ability to capture it, would I even require your assistance to handle the situation?” Su Ming replied to Celeste, feeling completely helpless.
“Haha, I suppose that’s true. Don’t be so dejected, though; my power has increased significantly, and I can now vastly improve the combat capabilities of Ilyas.” Celeste hurriedly assured him.
“That is acceptable, I suppose. At least it wasn’t entirely in vain,” Su Ming noted with a nod.
“But that isn’t everything. I can assume control of the remaining mechanical legion and command the mechanical engineers to conduct repairs on the Grey Angel. That simpleton lacks the skill to fix the Grey Angel, but I am more than capable. Once the Grey Angel is fully restored, I can merge with it for our next battle!” Celeste announced with enthusiasm.
“Is that truly possible?” The entire group, Su Ming included, gasped in collective disbelief at Celeste’s claim.
“Why wouldn’t it be? I am virtually omnipotent now, ha ha ha!” Celeste boasted, striking a proud pose with her hands on her hips.
“Regardless, let us begin sweeping the entire battlefield. Collect all valuable debris and store it inside the Grey Angel and the Sunshine!” Su Ming commanded Rhein and the others.
“Understood!” Rhein and his comrades cheered.
Without delay, everyone maneuvered their mechas to begin a thorough sweep of the debris across the conflict zone.

Within the administration building of Starlight City.
Long Bai was hunched over his desk, buried in a pile of official documents.
Ferion and Jone waited patiently at his side, clutching their own stacks of files.
Knock, knock~
A sudden rapping at the door broke the silence.
“Enter!” Long Bai ordered, his voice icy, never once lifting his gaze from his work.
The door swung open, revealing Mo Xiu, Qian Lin, and their companions.
“Council Chairman.”
Long Bai paused his writing, peered up at the group, and demanded, “What is the status of the situation?”
“Our losses were catastrophic. We were pursued and ambushed by the Dark Star Empire during our withdrawal, leading to near-total destruction. However, thanks to the timely arrival of General Su Ming and his reinforcements, we managed to escape safely,” Mo Xiu reported.
“I see,” Long Bai murmured, offering a brief nod.
“This is the comprehensive report detailing the retrieved materials and our total casualties. Please review it, Chairman Long Bai,” Qian Lin said, holding out a document.
“Very well,” Long Bai accepted it.
Mo Xiu and the others did not retreat, instead lingering in the room with evident hesitation.
“Is there anything else?” Long Bai asked, his eyes sweeping over them with calm detachment.
Qian Lin hesitated briefly before speaking. “Council Chairman, once General Su Ming secured our safety, he split from the main fleet and entered the Mist Star Sea to search for the missing Admiral Ames and her team.”
Long Bai’s brows knit into an immediate scowl upon hearing this.
“That is pure madness! The Mist Star Sea is a death trap from which no one returns. Why did you not stop him?” Ferion exclaimed, his face pale with alarm.
“We tried our best to prevent him; we outlined the immense dangers and advised against it, yet General Su Ming insisted he possessed a method to enter, conduct the rescue, and return safely,” Qian Lin explained in a tone of defeat.
“That is far too reckless! What if some calamity happens and he gets trapped?” Ferion added, shivering with concern.
“I share your fear, but I was unconscious throughout the encounter. By the time I awoke and discovered the situation, he was already gone,” Mo Xiu replied helplessly.
“I have heard enough. You may depart,” Long Bai said coldly.
“As you command!” Mo Xiu and the others exited.
Long Bai returned his focus to the file, his pen scratching against the paper. Meanwhile, Jone leaned in to whisper to Ferion.
“This is bizarre. Is Su Ming truly that close to General Ames? Why risk his life for her rescue?”
“Are you simple? This isn’t about Ames.”
“Then who is he risking himself for?”
“Likely Lin Chuyu, who serves under Ames. I recall rumors that Su Ming and Lin Chuyu were classmates and shared a deep history—even some personal baggage.”
“Unbelievable. This boy is truly something—flirting back at Saint Joex and now tangled up with others here. Just how many women has he involved himself with?” Jone remarked with a look of utter bewilderment.
Long Bai, still reading, caught their muffled conversation. With a sudden jolt of his hand, his pen pierced straight through the document, and he turned a frigid, piercing stare toward the pair.
“Do you two truly have nothing better to occupy your time?”
“Lord, we shall take our leave at once,” Ferion and Jone stammered, their pulses quickening as they hastily retreated.
Long Bai remained seated, watching them go, his expression betraying a deep sense of unease.
