Shadows of the Deep Space Chapter 1637 529: Genetic Lock_2
Previously on Shadows of the Deep Space...
"Third Legion · Third Regiment · Vice Admiral Zhou Kui eliminated!"
"Third Legion · Sixteenth Regiment · Colonel Marko eliminated!"
...
Reports from the operator kept coming in to Roches without pause.
"Dammit!"
Fury surged in Roches' heart as he scanned the casualty list.
Suddenly, a shrill alarm pierced the air, and a crimson warning panel appeared.
"Alert: Wind Dome targeted!"
"Alert: Enemy's primary gun nearing full charge!"
...
The operator urgently informed Roches.
"Sir, the Wailing Spirit has us locked; evasion is impossible!"
"If dodging isn't an option, we'll clash with these scum head-on!"
Roches committed fully to the battle.
"Yes!"
The crew shouted back together.
Amid the stars.
The Legendary Level Star Destroyer · Wailing Spirit fixed its sights on the Legendary Star Destroyer · Wind Dome; grotesque heads carved into the hull wailed as though tormented, while its main gun glowed with intense radiance.
Swish!
A crimson ray laced with electrical flashes tore through the void, slamming straight into the Legendary Star Destroyer · Wind Dome!
At the same time, the Legendary Level Star Destroyer · Wind Dome's primary weapon fired back, unleashing a fearsome dark ray.
The rays collided in a flash!
Boom!
The Energy Barrier of the Wind Dome shattered upon impact, exploding in a sun-like burst of light.
The Wailing Spirit took the strike too; its dark Energy Barrier crumbled, leaving a gaping wound in the enormous vessel. Yet in the following instant, the Wailing Spirit brutally compressed the creatures within, activating intricate designs across its exterior, as dark matter poured from the breach, rapidly multiplying to mend the damage.
Central command of the Wind Dome.
Roches gripped the armrests tightly and questioned his officer.
"Give me the damage assessment!"
"K3 armor section partly breached!"
...
Right then, the piercing siren rang out once more, with multiple crimson warnings flashing.
"Alert: Wind Dome targeted by Star Destroyer · Evil Fang!"
...
The visual display showed the scene.
Star Destroyer · Evil Fang from the First Legion, at the head of a fleet, smashed past the back makeshift barrier and charged forward.
The Wind Dome found itself trapped between two fronts.
Terror filled the operator's voice as he reported.
"Admiral Roches, what's our move?"
"Dodge!"
With eyes bulging, Roches bellowed.
The Evil Fang's main gun flared brightly in seconds, sending a vivid red beam along with a barrage of missiles surging from behind at the Wind Dome.
In that instant, the damaged Level 5 Battleship · Breeze moved swiftly ahead, shielding the Wind Dome.
Boom!
The dark ray punched through the Breeze in a heartbeat, smashing into the Wind Dome and triggering a colossal blast.
Next, a storm of missiles engulfed the Wind Dome.
Roar!
A wave of detonations ravaged the area.
Within moments, a massive rift tore open in the Legendary Level Star Destroyer · Wind Dome; troops and fixers inside vanished in vapor, while those nearby got hurled by the blast's force.
"Ah!"
...
Screams of agony rang out relentlessly.
Within the command center.
Many operators tumbled to the floor, as warning panels lit up one by one.
"Alert: G3 zone armor layer obliterated!"
"Alert: G4 zone losing pressure!"
...
Admiral Roches fought to regain his footing, eyed the flashing alerts, and yelled.
"Hurry, deploy the isolation barriers!"
"Yes!"
Bloodied in the face, the operator clenched his jaw, rose, and executed the command.
Click!
Across the Wind Dome's wounded sections, heavy barriers dropped, blocking off the ruined corridors.
The Wind Dome endured the assault, but the ship suffered heavy harm overall.
....
In another spot, Mo Xiu maneuvered the Thunder Angel, slashing fiercely with the Thunder Pattern Blade to dispatch several Eagle Falcon Machines that burst apart right away, opening up a wide space.
"Hah~"
Mo Xiu's chest heaved up and down rapidly.
Yet just as he tried to recover, a hail of rays and projectiles rained down from the distance.
Mo Xiu swiftly guided the Mecha to dodge, glaring upward in rage.
There, Geteri piloted the Demon Hunter, ordering vessels and units to fire at him from afar.
"Damn it, Geteri, you coward—dare to stop cowering in the back!"
Even Mo Xiu, known for his calm nature, couldn't hold back the curse.
"Mo Xiu, save your taunts; I won't engage until you're utterly broken! I'm eager to witness Farren's reaction upon learning of your demise! But don't fret, after centuries as rivals, there's a bond—we'll return your head to Sky Dome City."
Geteri chuckled while speaking to Mo Xiu.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure to rip your head off before I go down."
Lightning crackled around the Thunder Angel as Mo Xiu drove it full throttle toward Geteri.
Just then, a swarm of Mechas rushed in to block the Thunder Angel's advance.
Mo Xiu swung the Thunder Pattern Blades with savage force, cutting through them in sequence.
Roar!
The onslaught of Mechas fell away like trash.
Suddenly, a Fourth Generation Mecha Blood Falcon materialized beside Mo Xiu via Light Speed Fold Flash, thrusting its spear at him.
"Courting death!"
Mo Xiu spun around and lashed out with the Thunder Pattern Blade.
Crack!
The Blood Falcon split clean in two at once, its internal nuclear device exploding.
Boom!
A brilliant solar flare erupted, flinging the Thunder Angel away in the blast.
However, Mo Xiu soon regained control of the Thunder Angel, and though he readied for another assault, a buzz filled his ears, causing his mind to falter briefly.
Mo Xiu shook his head to clear it; as a Third Generation New Human in a VI Generation Mecha after prolonged combat, his mental strain approached its breaking point.
