Capítulo 1601: Chapter 522: It’s Not Impossible_5

“Hey, Jiang Rong!”

Startled briefly, Jiang Rong turned her head toward Su Ming.

“No yelling in this area.”

The pair of soldiers ahead of them scolded hastily, sounding a bit alarmed.

Jiang Rong approached. Spotting Su Ming, delight filled her face, and she addressed the two soldiers blocking her path.

“Do you recognize who this is?”

“No, ma’am.”

“He’s our commander. Let him pass right away.”

“Ah!”

In a flurry, the two soldiers moved out of the way.

With a grin, Su Ming inquired of Jiang Rong.

“Jiang Rong, where can I find Rhein?”

“Rhein? Let me guide you to him!”

Jiang Rong’s gaze brightened instantly, and she told Su Ming.

“Okay!”

Su Ming gave a nod.

Jiang Rong swiftly escorted Su Ming aboard the vessel, directing him to the resting area.

They reached the lounge shortly, where Rhein stood before them in his junior general attire, his expression grave as he faced off against a middle-aged man in vice admiral garb—bald-headed with a facial scar.

Su Ming eyed the Vice Admiral and dimly recalled him as Vice Admiral Man Kai from the Second Legion.

“What’s the situation here?”

Su Ming questioned Jiang Rong with curiosity.

“Not a big deal. After the recent major clash, during the aftermath cleanup, folks from both sides quarreled over battle spoils. Then, Hamiu and his team bumped into their group on the road, sparking a brawl.”

Grinning, Jiang Rong explained to Su Ming.

“Got it.”

Su Ming acknowledged with a nod.

Just then, Vice Admiral Man Kai barked in fury.

“Rhein, Hamiu hurt my soldiers—there’s no debate, turn him over!”

Rhein pounded the desk, standing his ground resolutely.

“Whether Hamiu harmed your men or not doesn’t matter to me. If he did, it’s my responsibility to address, not yours. I’ll manage my own team!”

“Is there zero regard for order? I outrank you.”

“And?”

“You…”

Anger flushed Vice Admiral Man Kai’s cheeks crimson.

“Well, isn’t this quite the display of power!”

Su Ming observed the scene with amusement before advancing, a smile on his lips as he interjected.

“Who’s there?”

Rhein spun around, annoyed.

Seeing Su Ming, joy surged through him, and he dashed over for a hearty embrace, exclaiming with thrill.

“Boss, you’ve arrived!”

“Yeah.”

Su Ming responded smilingly.

Upon glimpsing Su Ming, Vice Admiral Man Kai’s face shifted abruptly. He snapped to attention with a salute and uttered.

“Sir!”

“Vice Admiral Man Kai, should Hamiu have broken any rules, have the Judicial Court contact me directly.”

Su Ming stated calmly with a smile.

“Just a mix-up; it’s common for troops to clash occasionally.”

“Good to hear. Is there more?”

“No, sir, I’ll depart now.”

Vice Admiral Man Kai departed swiftly, looking defeated.

As Man Kai exited, Su Ming turned to Rhein with a grin and remarked.

“Rhein, years have passed since we last met. You’ve risen to Major General—impressive work!”

“Hardly.”

Rhein humbly waved it off.

“Oh, that line, ‘I’ll handle my own subordinates!’”

Chuckling, Su Ming mimicked Rhein.

“Boss, without you here, I’ve had to step up and lead myself.”

“Only joking with you. Where are Ankaga and the rest?”

“They’re practicing at the training field. I’ll bring you over—they’ll be thrilled to spot you.”

Rhein shared with enthusiasm.

“Excellent!”

Su Ming answered smilingly.

Rhein proceeded to guide Su Ming onward.

They promptly arrived at the training grounds, witnessing lines of Green Wing Mechas engaged in disciplined drills.

Near the training area’s border, Ankaga was instructing a squad of officers.

“Pay attention, everyone. The elite Mechanical Clan beasts possess metal sparks, serving as both their energy core and weak point….”

“Wait a second, Ankaga!”

Rhein called out to Ankaga.

Ankaga scowled and replied to Rhein.

“Rhein, I’m in the middle of a lesson. Don’t cut in—our schedule’s already packed.”

“Ankaga, check out who’s joined us.”

Smiling, Rhein prompted.

“Boss!”

Ankaga whipped around, beheld Su Ming beaming at him, and charged ahead in excitement.

Su Ming enveloped Ankaga in a hug and said smilingly.

“Alright.”

“Boss, we’ve longed for you terribly. During the Tidal Star Sea incident, we believed you were lost and mourned deeply for ages!”

Thrilled, Ankaga declared.

“I’m tougher than that to take down. How have things been for the group in my absence?”

Smiling, Su Ming inquired.

Rhein and Ankaga’s faces darkened at Su Ming’s question.

“What happened?”

Sensing their abrupt gloom, Su Ming’s spirits dropped, prompting his query.

“Shi Wushan and Mandy gave their lives. A number of our fellow classmates perished too, and the unit suffered heavy losses overall. I’m sorry, boss—it’s on me for poor command.”

Tears welling, Rhein confessed.

Hearing this, Su Ming let out a sigh, extended his hand to clap Rhein’s shoulder, and comforted.

“Don’t blame yourself. Losses happened even when I was in charge. That’s the harsh reality of commanding.”

“Yeah.”

Su Ming’s reassurance eased Rhein somewhat.

“Let’s move past it. Gather all our brothers-in-arms; time for a proper gathering.”

Su Ming suggested with a smile.

“Alright!”

Cheerfully, Rhein and Ankaga agreed.
