Rise of The Demon General Chapter 888. Leaving Protection

The battle between the three colossal dragons was intense right from the start. Their battle was different from a typical human fight. They didn’t rely on combat arts. Their fight wasn’t graceful. It was primal, brutal, and simple. They relied more on basic strength, speed, teeth, and claws.

Normally, such a direct and fierce bout would have ended pretty quickly. Yet, their fight dragged on. The reason was their incredible defense. Even their own teeth and claws couldn’t rip through their hardy scales. Plenty of scratch marks graced their titanic bodies, but not one drew blood.

A mature noble dragon possessed almost impenetrable scales. A being who could wound them could be counted with one hand, such as Mo Wang, who possessed the Law of Space. Any other cultivator would consider such a feat a tall order.

Even though none of them were wounded, it didn’t mean they felt nothing. Each blow from a noble dragon carried absurd weight. All three battling dragons felt the pain from each blow.

"You are truly astounding, junior," Thien Huo uttered. "Both of us were millennia ahead of you. Yet, you can match our strength. If not for your awful personality, you could have been an amazing noble dragon. How did you come to possess such a strength?"

"Spare me your praise, old coot," Ling Dau returned. "I care not for it. I know I am an amazing noble dragon. I need no recognition from others. As I said, I will tear down your outdated customs and make you old-fashioned fools regret ever casting me out. I will get rid of anyone who dares to stop me, including that elder who thinks he is above everyone else."

"Careful, junior. The elder you are referring to is a Higher Deity Beast. The best of us all. No, the best being in all existence. You will only burn yourself if you challenge him."

"I will surpass him one day...!!" Ling Dau shouted.

"Bold words," Di Yu mocked.

"Bolder than a dragon who allows herself to be imprisoned by a human for millennia," Ling Dau mocked back.

Di Yu was surprised that Ling Dau knew. Her fury ignited whenever she was reminded of this fact. She jumped back from the melee bout.

"Thien Huo! Move aside...!" Di Yu exclaimed. She took a deep breath and accumulated her aether into the base of her throat. This accumulated energy now travelled along her long neck to her mouth. From the outside, this accumulated energy appeared as a moving black light.

Thien Huo immediately disengaged himself upon the warning. Ling Dau sensed what Di Yu was doing, so he hastily accumulated his energy and formed a protective shield before him.

Di Yu opened her jaws and discharged a massive beam of black light. The beam slammed into Ling Dau’s energy shield. Ling Dau groaned as he continuously pumped energy into the shield to withstand the black beam.

Unfortunately, he had two opponents. Thien Huo also took a deep breath before firing a powerful beam of condensed fire. Ling Dau knew his shield wouldn’t endure the full-powered breath attacks from two mature noble dragons. He resorted to using his secret power. Black smoke covered his body. He merged with the shadows just as his energy shield broke from the pressure of the black and red beams.

The black and red beams continued onward, but they didn’t strike their target. All they hit was intangible black smoke, which blew away as the two beams passed. The black smoke didn’t move as normal, though. It advanced despite the pushback force of the beams.

"What power is that?" Di Yu asked in surprise.

"It is probably his element," Thien Huo surmised.

Ling Dau emerged from the black smoke once it came near Di Yu. His six heads clamped at different parts along Di Yu’s lengthy body. Di Yu roared from the pain but fought back. Her tail coiled around one of Ling Dau’s neck while she bit another.

"Di Yu!" Thien Huo called with concern. He lunged and slammed his massive body into Ling Dau before grabbing and biting Ling Dau’s tail. He pulled, attempting to force Ling Dau to let go of Di Yu, but the younger dragon stubbornly refused.

Amon, who had been waiting for an opportunity, exclaimed, "Now!"

"What? Are you serious?" Yao Ai asked. She was not convinced.

"Now! Or your head explodes!" Amon threatened.

"Fuck you!!" Yao Ai cursed, but she flew forward. She had no choice. Amon followed at a distance behind her.

As she approached the three colossal beings. She noticed Amon had been correct. The three massive dragons were now locked in a static position with each other. Neither could move unless one of them let go. It was a golden opportunity to target Hai Di, who was hiding behind Ling Dau’s back.

Hai Di noticed his supposed assassins approaching. He was not going to take this sitting down. He took the initiative and fired several black spears. Yao Ai countered by unleashing wind blades. The black spears and wind blades collided. Neither reached their targets, but this exchange slowed Yao Ai’s approach.

Hai Di followed up by throwing a Demon Palm. The massive black palm headed for Yao Ai, attempting to grab her. Yao Ai retaliated by using her wind cannon. The black palm exploded without reaching its target.

While Hai Di had his focus on Yao Ai, he suddenly found seven black tentacles emerging from the air above him. He was well familiar with these black tentacles.

"Amon! You think you can defeat me with the art I taught you? Let me show you the real deal!" Hai Di exclaimed.

Ten massive black tentacles materialized above him. Each tentacle had many smaller tentacles sprouting from it. This net of black tentacles easily swept aside Amon’s Elder God Tentacles. It then advanced, attempting to capture Yao Ai and Amon, who hid behind her.

However, before Hai Di’s Elder God Tentacles reached them, he noticed something alarming. Amon’s seven tentacles, which should have been devoured by his, remained existing. Not only that, they seemed to absorb his own Elder God Tentacles and grew bigger. These seven enlarged black tentacles were now resuming their advances toward him.

He had no choice but to jump away before these abnormal black tentacles touched him. This incident, combined with Amon’s feat of punching through his shadow armor, made him realize something he thought should be impossible.

"Amon! Do you possess the Law of Darkness?" He asked.

"The Law of Darkness?" Yao Ai looked at Amon. She was surprised herself. For a cultivator below the Devil Realm to possess a cultivation law was a feat that had never happened before.

Amon replied to Hai Di’s question with a simple grin.

"Tsk!" Though Hai Di didn’t get a definitive answer, Amon’s grin and the fact that Amon’s Elder God Tentacles could survive his was more than enough for an answer. The problem now was that most of his arcane arts had the darkness elements. Amon could support Yao Ai in negating his darkness arcane arts. This put him at a disadvantage.

This discovery made him retreat further. He knew he was leaving Ling Dau’s protection. But with the multi-headed dragon being locked down, there was no point in insisting on staying. However, he suddenly found himself becoming heavy. He looked around and noticed that he had entered a gravity zone.

He looked back and saw Krassazh and Surressh. He remembered now that these Hyanids also wanted his life.

Like Yao Ai and Amon, Krassazh and Surressh had chosen to be prudent and keep a safe distance after the arrival of Di Yu and Thien Huo. When they saw Yao Ai and Amon advance, they decided to follow their lead. The Gravity Zone that was hindering Hai Di was from Surresh. As for Krassazh, he was preparing his finishing move, which had failed to take out Hai Di prior.

Two gravity spheres appeared beside Hai Di, with him in the middle. These two spheres squeezed toward him. If they hit him, he would be crushed by their massive pressure.

"Do not think you can end me!" Hai Di put his two hands to stop the two gravity spheres. He also released his domain art.

"You will not escape this time!" Krassazh shouted back. He also used his domain art.

Yao Ai had punched through Hai Di’s remaining Elder God Tentacles, which were not yet absorbed by Amon’s art. She approached Hai Di and released her domain art as well.

Hai Di’s had been weakened after the prolonged fight. His domain art couldn’t dominate his two opponents’. Though it could still slow his opponents from approaching due to the Law of Pressure he exerted within his domain, it couldn’t stop Krassazh’s gravity spheres, which were already near him.

The two gravity spheres pressed into his hand. He could feel he was losing the fight. He couldn’t stop the two spheres from squeezing into him. He would slowly be crushed to death.

In his desperation, he called out, "Ling Dau, help me...!!!"

"Rarrgghh...!! Useless pet...!!!" Ling Dau exclaimed. Frustration was clear in his voice. He let go of Di Yu. Several spots where he had bitten had drawn tiny droplets of blood. If only he had been given more time, he could have bitten through Di Yu’s scales.

One of his heads headed toward Hai Di. Yao Ai and the others immediately scattered. They thought it was a pity, but they were not going to sacrifice their lives for the sake of slaying Hai Di.

The two gravity spheres were still pinning Hai Di. But with Krassazh retreating, they were getting weaker. Hai Di was about to exert his strength to push the spheres away.

*CHOMP!*

Ling Dau’s head, which approached Hai Di, chomped on him. In a swift gulp, he swallowed Hai Di whole.
