Yao Ai learns that several ley nodes containing dark elements have mysteriously dissolved, suspecting sabotage. Meanwhile, Amon has been secretly draining these ley nodes himself, using the energy to rapidly increase his cultivation. When increased security at the latest ley node makes it too risky, Amon decides to travel to other domains to find new harvesting grounds, planning to return for the upcoming domain lord meeting.
Within Dao Su’s laboratory, he was engrossed in working on a substantial, cylindrical container filled with an unusual, sapphire liquid. The container featured a transparent glass section, offering a clear view of its contents. Suspended within this blue fluid was an odd being, appearing as a patchwork of various spirit beasts. "Not too shabby, but it's mere child's play compared to what our expert flesh shapers can craft," remarked Yeresdyx, who had entered the chamber moments prior. Dao Su turned, spitting back at her, "Take that back! No one surpasses me in flesh alteration!" "I'm merely stating my perspective. Your proficiency in altering humans may be unmatched, yet you lack the experience with spirit beasts, particularly in merging more than two into a single form." "Nobody solicited your opinion. Why have you come here, anyway?" "I've finalized the mixture you required." Yeresdyx presented Dao Su with a vial containing a gelatinous substance. Dao Su’s countenance shifted upon its sight. He accepted the vial. "Why, behold this marvel! I shall achieve wonders with this. Heh. You are swift. I didn't anticipate its completion so rapidly." "I find myself with ample leisure. I crave more endeavors. Do you have any other concoctions needing preparation?" "How about you allow me to study your physique...?" "Hands off!" Yeresdyx swatted away Dao Su’s advancing hand. "Come now. Just permit me to conduct a few tests. I've long desired to fabricate a completely reshaped being. Your kind represents the sole successful outcome of the method. I must comprehend the genesis of your race." "I've already divulged all the history I possess regarding my lineage. I will not permit you to experiment on me." "Tch! Then at the very least, unveil some of the secret techniques passed down by the flesh shaper who created you." "I'm unable. I haven't delved deeply into flesh-altering. My specialization lies in pill creation." Amon’s voice cut through their exchange. He stood behind them. "I cannot discern if you two are close friends or merely enjoy squabbling." "Boss," Yeresdyx acknowledged. Dao Su was less deferential. "Blast it all! Why do you always materialize like a phantom? We detected neither your footsteps nor your aura. Yeresdyx, did you perceive his approach?" "No," Yeresdyx replied. He then presented Amon with several pills. "Here are your requested items. Do you require any further pill concoctions?" Amon chuckled. "Your output rivals that of a modest workshop teeming with pill masters. No. It will be some time before I require another Mammoth Pill, and I currently lack sufficient aetherium fruits. The tree will need time to bear more. You are at liberty to craft as you please for the moment. Should you need components, simply inform me." One of the pills Yeresdyx gave Amon was indeed a Mammoth Pill, designed to aid an infernal cultivator in advancing to the Mammoth Stage. Having absorbed the elemental energies from various ley nodes, Amon had reached the zenith of his Peak Supreme Stage. At this juncture, he no longer benefited from the seamless advancement provided by the Poison Blood Infusion Method. He now encountered cultivation bottlenecks, much like any ordinary cultivator. During his time in the ancient battleground, he had navigated the hurdles within the Supreme Stages without the assistance of any pill. This instance, however, presented a more formidable bottleneck. The difficulty stemmed from the transition between the Supreme and Mammoth Stages. Consequently, he chose to seek aid from a pill before attempting the breakthrough. Failure would otherwise necessitate a waiting period of several days, or even weeks, before another attempt could be made. The remaining pills Yeresdyx provided were Heirloom Pills, akin to the Inheritance Pills Amon had consumed from Huang San, but significantly more potent. While the Inheritance Pill was effective only for cultivators below the Lord Stage, the Heirloom Pill remained beneficial up to the Divine Realm. A Heirloom Pill could be ingested four times annually, unlike Aetherium Fruits, which were limited to one consumption per year. Furthermore, taking a Heirloom Pill did not preclude the consumption of Aetherium Fruits. Amon could ingest both simultaneously, and the energies generated would not conflict. This meant he could achieve a substantial boost five times a year simply by consuming the Heirloom Pills and the Aetherium Fruit. Regular intake of these pills had already yielded tangible results. His divine cultivation had ascended to the Peak Lord Stage. "Observe. If you can't think of any pills you wish to craft, consider making this," Amon suggested after Yeresdyx displayed a crestfallen expression. Having spent more time in her company, he found himself better able to interpret the facial cues of a Hyanid.

Although Yeresdyx exhibited an unusual level of dedication, her creativity in devising new concoctions was lacking. Amon then presented her with a piece of paper detailing a recipe.

"What is this?" she inquired, her voice tinged with excitement. The formula laid out on the paper was entirely unfamiliar to her previous work.

"It is a pellet designed to detonate upon encountering significant force, thereby releasing its contained substances. Utilize this to formulate the explosive content," Amon explained.

He then handed her several vials. "Exercise caution. The contents are exceptionally poisonous; handle them with the utmost care."

The vials held his Void Volatile Poison. His objective was for Yeresdyx to create poison pellets. As the potency of his poison escalated, his skills as a pill master proved insufficient to craft a pellet capable of containing it. Now that a master-level pill master was at his disposal, it would be negligent not to leverage her talents.

"This constitutes an older formula I employed for a less potent poison. You will need to adapt it for the poison I am providing. Do you believe you can accomplish this task?" Amon questioned.

"I shall certainly give it my best effort," Yeresdyx responded. She carefully secured the vials and departed with haste, her mind already consumed with the task at hand.

"Look at her, like a child presented with a brand-new toy," Dao Su commented.

"You are one to speak. What about this new marvel of yours?" Amon replied, his gaze fixed on the peculiar creature housed within the tank. He recognized the two formidable blades affixed to the creature's right arm. "I observe that you have incorporated a component from the Primeval Scortaur."

"Naturally. It would be a regrettable waste to discard a Lower Primordial Beast without fully exploiting its potential. That pair of blades is a vestige of the Scortaur’s scythes. Furthermore, I have extracted the accelerated regeneration gene that it utilized on its synthetic human-like portion. While its regenerative efficiency is diminished when applied to functional tissues, I have introduced an accelerant to enhance it, thus this beast should possess a reasonably robust healing factor. The remaining components are derived from beasts you vanquished over the past two years."

"When do you anticipate it will be operational?"

Dao Su chuckled. "This is an experimental endeavor. Although I have engineered hybrid beasts previously during my tenure with Hai Di, this marks the first occasion I have undertaken such a project out of genuine curiosity. It is, rather, fascinating. I suppose my previous work felt burdensome because I was compelled to perform it. In any case, I doubt I will achieve success on the initial attempt. Unlike past projects, I have utilized a living human as the foundational base for this creature. The likely outcome will be an uncontrollable, savage entity."

"How potent do you surmise this creature will become?"

Dao Su offered a shrug. "Undoubtedly, far more formidable than the individual beasts utilized in its construction."

"Excellent. If its strength proves considerable, I may elect to make it my own tamed beast. The Sun Ray Hawk can no longer keep pace with my advancements."

"Did you not comprehend my earlier statement? I anticipate this project may falter. Moreover, I have never encountered an instance of taming a beast constructed through biological modification. The Sun Ray Hawk's successful taming was attributed to its pre-existing mental affinity with you. I question your ability to establish a mental link with a spirit beast whose mind is fundamentally fractured."

"Nevertheless, I retain the desire to attempt it. Inform me when you prepare to unleash it for a preliminary test."

Dao Su shrugged once more. "Certainly. I have no wish to be the sole individual present when that occurs."

"And what of Bo Wu? Have you completed its purification process?" Amon inquired.

"It necessitates many years of effort, but yes, the task is finally concluded," Dao Su affirmed. He moved towards a nearby table, continuing his explanation. "As I conveyed previously, through extended interaction and meticulous study, I ascertained the presence of two distinct souls within Bo Wu. The original soul belongs to the hell beast. The second is a fragmented soul that attached itself. It is this partial soul that purportedly shares a spiritual link with Hai Di. My hypothesis is that this fragmented soul originated from one of Hai Di's tamed beasts."

"Are there spirit beasts capable of implanting a partial soul in such a manner?" Amon asked, intrigued.

"I cannot definitively say, but a multitude of spirit beasts possess capabilities beyond our current awareness. It is plausible that Hai Di commands one such extraordinary creature."

"Mm..." Amon mused, recalling the reports contained within Yao Ai’s data crystal. These documents mentioned Hai Di’s successful taming of a remarkably powerful beast approximately a century prior. However, no specifics regarding this spirit beast were ever revealed, as Hai Di consistently kept it from public view.

"Regardless, I have systematically diminished and eradicated the parasitic fragmented soul. The soul now residing within this jewel is exclusively that of the hell beast." Dao Su retrieved a jewel from a hermetically sealed container. Bo Wu's voice immediately resonated.

"Greetings, esteemed associate! It is a pleasure to reconnect. You ought to grant me more opportunities for external excursions... Ah! It is my old companion, the ever-reliable Amon! How fares your journey?"

"Your current disposition appears considerably more buoyant than during our last exchange," Amon observed.

"Indeed, thanks to the efforts of our esteemed colleague, Dao Su, I am finally free to express my true self. Might I inquire, is it not profoundly inconvenient to exist without a physical form? Is it not perhaps time you bestowed upon me a vessel, hmm, old friend? Hehe."
