After being tricked into drinking water meant for flushing toilets, two men vomited profusely while their companion, who hadn't drunk, narrowly avoided the same fate. The fat man who orchestrated the deception was blamed, but he claimed he tried to warn them. Later, he revealed the true source of drinking water, a faucet, which impressed everyone and relieved the two who had been sick.

After seeing what the fat guy did, everyone finally reacted — so this water really was drinkable.

The other three each downed two cups as well, especially those two big-headed fellows, who were just about done emptying out their stomachs by now,

so the two of them also each drank a cup of water to settle things down. Only, whenever they looked at that toilet, no matter how clean and spotless it was, it still cast a bit of a shadow in their hearts.

Of course, that shadow only lasted for an instant. Their love for the room as a whole was simply beyond words.

The only one who hadn't drunk toilet water liked it even more, the more he looked the more he liked it. Especially when his eyes fell on the toilet, he just couldn't help sighing, what a masterpiece of design.

This design was definitely first-rate.

They never in their lives would've imagined that an outhouse could be moved indoors and still be this tidy, with not the slightest smell, not the slightest filth. How could they not be excited?

So when this guy looked around the room, his eyes were practically brimming with fondness; he wished he could just move in on the spot.

Of course, he also knew he didn't own a place like this yet, hadn't bought one.

That left him feeling a bit dejected for a moment, and the fat guy's knack for reading people was naturally excellent. Seeing this,

he understood what was going on in the man's mind, but he didn't pick up the topic, didn't try to console him. Instead, after showing everyone around, he led them into another room to take a look. This room was different from the one before; the first room was just furnished with whatever had come with the place from the start.

Meaning, when the house was allocated to him, it already came with the matching basic facilities. But this current room was another story. This one had been worked over by the fat guy.

He'd done all the decorating himself; everything in here, aside from the toilet, had been rearranged by him. And of course that didn't include the faucet either. Other than those, whether it was the timber inside, or the different styles of décor, or all those precious ornaments that hadn't originally existed here at all, every single thing screamed luxury.

Not to exaggerate, but the décor in this room was such that the moment you saw it, your eyes lit up. Especially for these Merchants — they all had some spare money, yet they didn't dare make their own residences too luxurious. After all, if they made things too grand, it'd attract trouble. If the wrong people took a dislike to you, you'd be in for it. They weren't the sort of big Merchants who could call the shots in a whole region, nor local tyrants of any sort.

They were just somewhat well-off little Merchants, that was all. And precisely because of that, their social status was generally low.

Yet when they stepped into this room, the shock in their eyes grew even stronger, to the point it felt like some great revelation; they were thinking to themselves, so a house could actually be this beautiful.

Earlier, seeing those other places, they'd already felt these houses were far better than what they currently had. But it had never crossed their minds that such a house could be further redecorated. That instantly opened up a whole new line of thought for them, made them feel they'd suddenly found a direction.

This room wasn't limited to just what they were seeing now either. In the future, they could put whatever they wanted in here. Looked like they really needed to hurry up and snap up a place like this. Even if the price got bid up sky-high, they'd still have to make a move. Even if a top-floor unit ended up costing five thousand taels,

they wouldn't hesitate anymore. Previously they'd never really seen one of these houses; they'd only heard of them, or looked over from far away. So every little thing in these rooms, every bit of the layout, was something they'd never seen before. How could they not be shaken to the core?

"No way, Shopkeeper Wang, after seeing your place today, I've made up my mind. No matter what, I've got to get myself a set like this."

"Hey, tell me about it. From far away, I couldn't imagine how fancy it'd be inside. But I never, ever expected this — seeing it with my own eyes today completely overturned everything I thought I knew. No matter what, I'm getting a place.

Oh right, once I buy one, I'll have to trouble you, Shopkeeper Wang, to introduce me to the people who did your decorating."

"Hey, brothers, aren't you thinking a bit too far ahead? If these houses were easy to buy, I would've snapped one up long ago. I'm afraid that right now, aside from Shopkeeper Wang, there aren't many who've really managed to buy one of these, right?"

They'd all only managed to make a move thanks to a stroke of luck, and now they just regretted not having been there at the time. Otherwise, no matter what, they would've fought to get a unit for themselves.

"Hey, exactly, that's how it is. These houses aren't easy to grab. If they were, I'd already be living in one by now. I've figured it out — if there's nothing left on the sixth floor, then a fifth-floor unit will do; if the fifth is gone, I'll go lower; even if in the end there's only the first floor left, I'll still buy one. This place is just too damn luxurious."
