Chapter 1024 – Taking Action
Primordial Ruin, Twilight Fortress:
As the blinding light dissipated and revealed the results of the collision, shock paralyzed the members of both the human and Holy Races. The conclusion of that clash was beyond anything they had anticipated.
“Elise’s power is terrifying. Garuda is completely outmatched. In this entire three-race conflict, Ink Crystal is likely the only one capable of standing against her now.”
“It makes sense why Demon’s Gate is so intent on seizing the Twilight Fortress. With Elise alone, they have the strength to suppress the geniuses of the Seven Luminaries Alliance and the various pseudo-apex powers.”
“I mistakenly believed the God’s Domain Association had been bribed when they elevated Demon’s Gate to a royal power! Seeing this, their promotion is clearly justified! Finally, our race possesses its own royal power!”
Despite the notorious reputation Demon’s Gate held within the human race’s Greater God’s Domain, the experts inside the Twilight Fortress were filled with fervor after seeing Elise’s display. Even the chosen ones from the various powers looked upon her with newfound respect.
Since the war between the three races erupted, the chosen ones from each side had clashed repeatedly. Historically, the human representatives were consistently overshadowed by those of the Holy Race and the Crystallians. Even on the Holy Race’s Eternal Chosen One Ranking List, only a handful of humans managed to break into the top 30.
Garuda’s prowess was undeniable, as he held a spot in the top five of that very list. Upon triggering his Lightning Transformation to become a Sacred Lightning Beast, his presence had eclipsed even that of Taboo Bosses. Yet, even as an entity capable of contending with Primordial Gods, he had fallen to Elise. This victory served as a massive surge of inspiration for the human experts watching.
...
“Incredible strength!” Hidden Soul muttered, her eyes fixed on Elise. “I doubt I could survive that strike, even if I burned my Divine Blood and used my most powerful Lifesaving Skill!”
“The third stage! So this is the capability of someone at the third stage of the sixth-floor standard?” Lunar River’s fists tightened as she watched Elise. With a heavy sigh, she added, “It’s no wonder those entities chose her. However, this means even if the Holy Race is defeated, the following struggle for control over the fortress will be brutal...”
The other sixth-floor experts in the area could only echo Lunar River’s sentiments with sighs of their own.
No Tier 6 player could hope to endure two of Elise’s Twelvefold Supernova Destructions. Had Garuda not evolved into a Tier 7 Lifeform through his Sacred Lightning Beast transformation, he would have been killed instantly.
“The third stage, huh?” Shi Feng was equally moved by Elise’s performance. He hadn't realized that reaching the third stage of the sixth-floor standard could refine the application of Concentration to such a high degree.
Most sixth-floor experts struggled to execute even a single Twelvefold Supernova Destruction. Elise, however, had unleashed two at once. The sheer destructive force she commanded was now comparable to the full-power strike of the Five-Headed Chaos Dragon.
...
While Shi Feng analyzed the situation, Daystar and the remaining Absolute Chosen Ones maintained a heavy silence.
“She is a monster. I see now why those beings selected her,” Tyrant Claw remarked, his previous confidence replaced by caution.
“True. I suspected Garuda couldn't finish her alone, but I didn't expect this level of power.” Daystar nodded, her face hardening. “We have no choice; we must strike together.”
“I’m not fond of the idea, but it’s clearly our only path forward,” Morning Echo noted, shrugging in agreement with Daystar’s plan.
“Garuda and I will lead the charge. The rest of you look for an opening,” Tyrant Claw said, preparing to engage Elise alongside Garuda.
“Elise is certainly a worthy foe,” Fist Emperor said, his eyes burning with a thirst for battle. However, he quickly shifted his gaze toward Shi Feng and added, “But before we join forces, I still have to settle things with Black Flame.”
“Do as you wish,” Morning Echo chuckled. “Just make it quick. If we finish Elise while you’re still busy, don’t expect a share of the spoils.”
“Relax. Black Flame lacks his siege weapon here. He won't survive three exchanges against me!” Fist Emperor retorted. He then activated his transformation, growing into a 10,000-meter-tall titan before lunging at Shi Feng.
“What a madman,” Morning Echo remarked, clicking her tongue as she watched Fist Emperor deploy his Tier 7 Profound Skill without hesitation.
Testing Elise’s limits was a rare chance for them to improve their standing within their respective imperial powers. Yet, Fist Emperor favored his personal vendetta against Shi Feng over the mission. He was even willing to expend the Skyquake Set’s Tier 7 Profound Skill for it.
The Skyquake Set used by Fist Emperor was superior to Garuda’s Lightning Beast Set. Consequently, its Tier 7 Profound Skill, Ancestral Transformation, was more potent than Lightning Transformation. During the previous Hundred Race Battlefield, Fist Emperor had used this skill to slay over a dozen Tier 7 combatants simultaneously.
The drawback of Ancestral Transformation’s immense power was its duration, which lasted only one minute—far shorter than the three minutes granted by Lightning Transformation. It was designed strictly for decisive, rapid combat.
Using such a trump card against Shi Feng—who wasn't even ranked in the top 20 of the Eternal Chosen One Ranking List—seemed like a massive waste. It was like using a heavy artillery strike to swat a fly.
...
Elsewhere, the sight of the 10,000-meter giant storming toward the Twilight Fortress sent a wave of anxiety through the defenders.
They had all witnessed the devastation caused by Garuda’s transformation. A Sacred Lightning Beast was not something a standard Tier 6 player could hope to face; even the shockwaves were fatal. With a giant of equal power now attacking the fortress, panic began to spread.
Before anyone could react, Fist Emperor’s roar thundered across the field.
“Black Flame! I’ve come for your life!”
The shout drew every eye in the Twilight Fortress toward Shi Feng. No one expected one of the Five Absolutes to target him so directly.
“He’s targeting Black Flame specifically?” Soul Hunter laughed coldly as he watched Fist Emperor’s massive fist descend toward Shi Feng.
Though Shi Feng was a Tier 7 combatant at the peak of the three races, Fist Emperor had become a Tier 7 Lifeform. A massive power gap remained. Given Fist Emperor’s current scale, a single blow could wipe out everything within a 1,000-yard radius.
If Shi Feng dodged instead of standing his ground, the members of Zero Wing behind him would be annihilated.
“Dammit!”
Lunar River, standing near Shi Feng, looked grim. She reached for her twin pitch-black greatswords and prepared to intercept the punch.
In a duel, Lunar River felt she could survive against Fist Emperor’s Ancestral Transformation for a time. However, this sudden assault left her little room to maneuver. If she deflected the blow or moved aside, every player within the area of effect who lacked a Divine Set would suffer one fate—
Soul Annihilation!
The experts King’s Paradise had deployed here were their finest. Their permanent death would be a catastrophic blow to the Guild.
But before Lunar River could move to block the high-speed strike, a figure blurred in front of her, stopping the mountain-sized fist with a single hand.
Boom!
A violent shockwave erupted, throwing all Tier 6 experts within 1,000 yards back by over a hundred yards. The space in the immediate vicinity cracked under the pressure, nearly shattering entirely.
“Guild Leader Black Flame?”
Once the dust settled, the onlookers were paralyzed with shock at the sight before them, Lunar River especially.
She stared blankly at Shi Feng, who hovered in the air. With just one hand, he had caught Fist Emperor’s colossal fist. He hadn't moved back an inch, and his HP remained completely full.
