Regression - Second Chance At Life Chapter 303: You Can Have Her If You Want
Previously on Regression - Second Chance At Life...
Kelly hurried toward one of the primary rear entrances of the Circuit.
She had just finished her shift and was on the verge of brewing a cup of coffee when her manager phoned her abruptly, commanding her to rush over immediately.
His grave tone on the call filled Kelly with dread, making her fret over possible mistakes that might cost her the job.
Thus, she ditched the warming coffee in the machine and bolted out, leaving her puzzled colleagues wondering what was up with her.
Kelly at last reached the VIP backdoor entrance, spotting the manager beside two others near a Nexara Stratosurge.
As a Guest Service Coordinator at the Eylendra Apex circuit, she possessed solid knowledge of cars; truth be told, she adored the sport, which explained her job there.
Spotting a Nexara Stratosurge up close wasn’t common—these machines were scarce, and owners seldom drove them. Despite their incredible capabilities, owners displayed them like trophies instead of real vehicles.
Seeing it firsthand sparked some excitement in her.
She hastened her pace to join her manager and discover her summons’ purpose. By then, she’d decided firing wasn’t on the table, as he wouldn’t do it before strangers, let alone VIPs—that’d tarnish his image.
Nearing the group, she saw the manager glance her way and gesture her nearer, which she obeyed.
Positioned by the manager as he presented her to his visitors, she eyed the pair of young men he fawned over. It was obvious they held importance, and Kelly, experienced with VIPs, picked up on it fast.
Patiently, she awaited her boss’s introductions. She glanced first at Danny, startled upon learning he was a Coronant.
After all, the Coronants dominated not only this city but globally, controlling billion-dollar empires with a family fortune hitting 200 billion dollars.
Far beyond mere big fish, the Coronants were titans of power and sway, making an in-person encounter rarer than a unicorn sighting.
Realizing this unremarkable-looking youth was the Coronant heir alone, Kelly entertained fleeting improper notions but swiftly buried them to safeguard her position.
Post-Danny’s intro, the manager indicated his companion, Danny’s buddy.
Kelly had glimpsed him sideways earlier while he gazed elsewhere, but as he turned with the most captivating smile she’d witnessed, her pulse raced.
A blush crept over Kelly’s cheeks while Adam locked eyes with her via that suave, assured grin.
Heart pounding, indecent fancies bubbled up, yet unlike with Danny, she let them linger—Adam proved far more alluring.
Still, she reined in her daydreams; professionalism and duty demanded focus.
All the more after her boss’s warning of dismissal for any blunder.
She nodded as the manager dashed off.
Refocusing on the duo, she regarded Danny then held Adam’s stare a moment longer before commencing.
"Welcome to Eylendra Apex circuit. My name is Kelly Cline, and I will be your guide for today. Please follow me as I show you around." Kelly said, stepping ahead.
"Nice to meet you, Kelly, name’s Adam," Adam replied, advancing as he introduced himself.
Relief surged through Kelly at Adam’s courteous self-presentation, contrasting her usual run-ins with wealthy, attractive men.
Knowing their status and looks, they acted superior and domineering, treating her with disdain.
Thus, Adam’s mere courtesy elevated him above most affluent youths she’d encountered.
"Nice to meet you too," she responded, clasping his hand. His solid grasp stirred potent feelings about him.
"And you already know my friend, Danny," Adam noted, gesturing to Danny, who grinned and waved at Kelly.
She nodded, more guarded toward Danny since, lacking Adam’s charisma, he didn’t soothe her. As a formidable figure, Danny would need considerable work to put Kelly at ease.
"Please, come this way. We’ll begin in the main hall. I’m certain you’ll find loads of stuff you’ll adore," Kelly remarks, stepping ahead to guide Adam and Danny through the venue.
The place is enormous, so covering it all will require time, yet neither Adam nor Danny objects.
Trailing behind Kelly as she points out the fascinating features nearby, Adam spots Danny’s gaze locked more on what lies ahead of him than the surroundings.
"Keep staring like that and you’ll scorch right through her skirt," Adam murmurs, leaning toward Danny to ensure only he catches the words.
Adam’s comment startles Danny, yet he makes no effort to conceal his interest. "I can’t resist. She’s sizzling hot, and that rear of hers—it’s mesmerizing with its endless sway from side to side," Danny murmurs in reply.
Adam lets out a chuckle.
"You realize you could have her if you wanted, don’t you?" Adam whispers back.
"How exactly would I pull that off?" Danny inquires.
"When this tour wraps up, just invite her to hang out sometime. Remember your status. Folks will bend over backward to stay in your favor," Adam advises.
"What if she turns me down?" Danny wonders.
"Then brush it off and keep going. She’s not worth chasing—there’s always someone hotter and keener waiting out there," Adam replies.
"I’m not sure... She probably won’t go for it..." Danny mutters.
"What makes you think so?" Adam probes.
"That ring on her finger... She’s likely married or engaged..." Danny explains.
Adam shoots Danny an approving glance, struck by how keenly Danny observes those around him. He’s equally impressed by Danny’s sense of right and wrong. Unlike Adam, Danny’s turned into a decent fellow with solid ethics, even without much guidance.
Yet Adam isn’t aiming to nurture Danny’s character further; far from it—he craves influence, and what sharper test of his sway over Danny than pushing him beyond his ethical limits.
Adam figures it won’t take much, since Danny’s principles are shaky at best. Lacking solid mentors—parents perpetually absent—he never built a firm foundation. Even greater parental involvement wouldn’t have shifted things much, considering Adam’s knowledge of Danny’s mother.
Given her infidelity, Adam wouldn’t bat an eye if Danny’s dad kept a few lovers hidden away too.
In essence, Adam’s simply steering Danny toward emulating his folks. Besides, as heir to the Coronant empire, Danny can’t afford pure goodness—nice folks get exploited mercilessly amid such vast fortunes.
Thus, by shaping Danny into a proper tycoon, Adam positions himself as the trusty ally Danny can depend on forever.
"Why let that hold you back?" Adam questions.
"Why? Isn’t it immoral to chase married women or those committed elsewhere?" Danny counters.
"You’ve got a point, sure, but why not give it a shot anyway? If a woman catches your eye, go for it—otherwise, you’ll never discover the wild times you might’ve shared. Maybe her relationship’s rocky, or she’s aching for someone to prove her current guy isn’t the one.
A goalkeeper doesn’t mean the goal’s impossible," Adam states.
"But..." Danny starts, only for Adam to interrupt. "Bottom line, it’s your call. Kelly’s got you hooked so bad you can’t look away. Want her? Take her. Pass? Fine. Up to you," Adam concludes.
Adam’s counsel sinks in, and Danny resumes fixating on Kelly’s backside, fantasizing about her. Adam smirks at the sight.
Stronger morals would’ve led Danny to dismiss Adam outright, but a handful of words has him second-guessing it all.
This confirms for Adam that molding Danny to his will is feasible. Still, he’ll need utmost care—Danny’s volatile like dynamite; mishandle him, and Adam risks the blast himself.
