Song Wen, searching for an ascended one, visits the Wei Clan's headquarters. Annoyed by a guard captain, Song Wen reveals himself as Feng Xin of the Divine Blood Gate. When the captain demands proof of identity, Song Wen attacks, crippling the captain and killing several other Wei Clan members. He then loudly demands the Wei Clan Patriarch come out to pay his respects.

"I am Wei Tiancheng, Patriarch of the Wei Clan! You dare harm my clan members? I will make you pay for this in blood!" the newcomer roared, his voice deep and resonant.

"Wei Tiancheng?" Song Wen sneered, his gaze fixed on the patriarch.

The crimson tentacle piercing the guard captain's abdomen suddenly twitched.

"As the clan head of the Wei Clan, are you truly so ignorant as to not recognize this?" Song Wen taunted.

Wei Tiancheng scrutinized the several tentacles hovering in the air, his expression darkening like a stormy sea.

Clearly, he didn't recognize the tentacles either, but Song Wen's unwavering confidence made him uneasy.

Just then, Wei Tiancheng's face shifted abruptly, his gaze toward Song Wen becoming wary and cautious.

"Are you truly a core disciple of the Divine Blood Gate?"

Song Wen's sneer deepened.

He had seen it clearly: Wei Tiancheng's sudden change was due to two figures appearing within the mountain gate, secretly transmitting a divine sense message to him.

Both were Body Integration Stage cultivators, their cultivation levels surpassing Wei Tiancheng's Early Body Integration Stage. They were likely Grand Elders of the Wei Clan.

They had clearly recognized the Blood Sea Seal and warned Wei Tiancheng through the divine sense transmission.

"Wei Tiancheng, this young master has no time for idle chatter. I've come to the Wei Clan today seeking information about the whereabouts of the ascended one," Song Wen's icy voice dripped with impatience, as if addressing a dog under his command.

Wei Tiancheng's face flushed crimson, then paled.

A mere Void Refinement Stage cultivator dared to issue commands to him in public.

As the Wei Clan Patriarch, when had he ever suffered such humiliation?

And with so many Wei Clan members watching, how could he possibly save face?

Yet Wei Tiancheng dared not give vent to his fury. He forcibly suppressed his anger and withdrew his oppressive aura.

"The Wei Clan has no ascended one. You must be mistaken."

"Three days ago, someone from the Lower Realm ascended near Wuyan City. The news has swept through the entire city. How could the esteemed Wei Clan Patriarch possibly be unaware?" Song Wen pressed.

"An actual ascension?" A flicker of doubt crossed Wei Tiancheng's eyes.

Divine sense power surged from his brow, piercing the barrier before the mountain gate and probing deep into the Wei Clan's territory.

Moments later, an elderly man emerged from the mountain gate and approached Wei Tiancheng's side.

"Greetings, clan head," the elder bowed respectfully, but his gaze remained fixed on the surrounding blood mist and the guard captain impaled on a tentacle, his face etched with shock and confusion.

"Was there an ascension three days ago?" Wei Tiancheng asked.

"Clan head, it is indeed true," the elder said, bowing deeply. "Upon learning that some ascended one had appeared near Wuyan City, this subordinate immediately dispatched men to recruit them. However, that woman, showing no sense of gratitude, not only refused our offer but also killed the men we sent. Since then, we have reinforced our forces and are relentlessly pursuing her. She will pay the price for her actions."

"In that case, has she been eliminated yet?" Wei Tiancheng asked.

The elder's body bent even lower, as if fearing Wei Tiancheng's displeasure at his failure.

"Clan head, please forgive me. We have not yet eliminated her. We tracked her down several times, but she managed to escape each time. However, she is severely injured and cannot have gone far. I have ordered our men to intensify their search. It won't be long before we eliminate her and uphold the Wei Clan's reputation."

A dark glint flashed in Wei Tiancheng's eyes.

The fact that a mere ascended one had repeatedly evaded the Wei Clan's pursuit made the clan appear incompetent.

Still, the ascended one's survival was good news for now, as it would allow him to appease Feng Xin.

"Feng Xin, you've heard it yourself. The ascended one has escaped. If you wish to find her, you'll have to search for her yourself," Wei Tiancheng said.

"Hand over the latest intelligence on her whereabouts. Furthermore, the Wei Clan must immediately withdraw all forces pursuing her," Song Wen commanded, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Wei Tiancheng, naturally unaware of any clues, didn't respond immediately.

The elder, uncertain of Feng Xin's identity, hesitated, glancing at Wei Tiancheng.

"Do as he says," Wei Tiancheng instructed.

With Wei Tiancheng's command, the elder finally turned to Song Wen.

"Young... young master, the ascended one last appeared three hours ago. Rogue cultivators spotted her at Azurewater Market, 200,000 li southwest of Wuyan City, seemingly purchasing medicinal pills for healing."

"She knowingly appeared at the market to buy pills, despite knowing your Wei Clan is hunting her relentlessly. It seems you've truly wounded her severely," Song Wen remarked.

As he finished speaking, the several tentacles that had been swaying around him shot out like sharp arrows, hurtling straight toward the elder.

The elder appeared panicked.

But before he could react, Wei Tiancheng intervened.

He conjured a spiritual power shield, positioning it before the elder to block the incoming tentacles.

"To attempt to slaughter my Wei Clan members before my very eyes is a grave insult to me, the Wei Clan Patriarch," Wei Tiancheng said, his voice laced with displeasure.

"He must die! Wei Tiancheng, you can't save him," Song Wen stated calmly.

"Hmph! Arrogant fool..."

Before Wei Tiancheng could finish his retort, a flash of cold light suddenly appeared.

A cold light pierced through the elder's skull from behind.

The elder didn't even have time to let out a scream before his soul scattered and his spirit vanished.

"You..." Wei Tiancheng seethed with rage.

"Remember this: recall everyone pursuing her immediately. If any harm befalls her, the entire Wei Clan will pay with their lives."

Song Wen finished speaking and turned to leave.

Wei Tiancheng watched Song Wen's retreating figure, his jaw clenched tight. In the end, he followed Song Wen's instructions and issued the order.

Azurewater Market wasn't large, covering only a few dozen miles.

Song Wen stood above the market, his divine sense sweeping through it like a raging storm.

After searching the entire market, Song Wen found nothing.

He then had Shadow Void conduct another search, but they still couldn't find any trace of Yan Yuyan.

After a moment of contemplation, Song Wen spoke loudly.

"This young master is from the Wei Clan and is currently tracking the ascended one. I've received information that the ascended one visited this market. Does anyone know where she went? I'm willing to pay a thousand high-grade spirit stones for this information."

As he spoke, a dense pile of spirit stones materialized before him, exactly one thousand in number.

Though Song Wen's voice wasn't loud, it carried clearly to every ear in the market.

Everyone looked up at the sky, their gazes fixed on Song Wen.

A commotion rippled through the crowd. For ordinary cultivators, a thousand high-grade spirit stones was an immense fortune.

However, intimidated by Song Wen's powerful mid-void refinement stage aura and the overwhelming divine sense he had displayed earlier, most people merely stared at the spirit stones, too afraid to approach.

After a brief silence, a gray-robed rogue cultivator in the Nascent Soul Stage slowly floated into the air.

He bowed deeply toward Song Wen and said in a hoarse voice, "Reporting... reporting to Senior, this junior has some clues."

"Speak," Song Wen's gaze instantly locked onto the rogue cultivator.

Under Song Wen's intense scrutiny, the rogue cultivator felt an overwhelming pressure, nearly suffocating him.

"Reporting to Senior, after purchasing some Healing Pills, the ascended one left the market through the north gate. Beyond that, this junior knows nothing of her whereabouts."
