Song Wen successfully collected the Pure Origin Heavenly Dew, but was confronted by Leng Zhi and Xue Cong. Heng Ziping then arrived, proposing an alliance with Song Wen against the other two. Leng Zhi attempted to use a powerful technique, but Heng Ziping's actions backfired, leaving Xue Cong vulnerable. Song Wen pursued Leng Zhi, eventually cornering her near another colossal stone pillar where she was attempting to obtain more treasure.

A bronze mace, three feet in length, materialized before Leng Zhi, crackling with violet lightning as it shot towards Song Wen.

Song Wen observed the approaching mace with a slight smile.

Suddenly, nine shadow void tentacles burst forth from his head, quivering subtly.

Buzz—

A sharp, high-pitched hum saturated the air, reaching Leng Zhi’s ears just before the mace could impact Song Wen.

Leng Zhi experienced countless steel needles piercing her Sea of Consciousness, their touch shredding her divine soul into myriad fragments.

Before she could even vocalize a cry, her eyes rolled back, and she fell unconscious, left floating mid-air.

Song Wen withdrew the shadow void tentacles and sent forth a thread of spiritual power, drawing Leng Zhi’s form towards him.

Her divine soul and blood essence were consumed by him, after which a wisp of fierce flame was ignited, turning her remains to ash.

A storage ring, once Leng Zhi’s possession, now rested within Song Wen’s grasp.

Employing his divine sense to examine the ring, Song Wen swiftly discovered three drops of Pure Origin Heavenly Dew.

“Why only three drops?” Song Wen mused, a touch of perplexity gracing his thoughts.

Heng Ziping had indicated that Leng Zhi carried a minimum of three drops. Furthermore, after locating this stone pillar, she should have procured more than merely three.

Could I have arrived prematurely? Has Leng Zhi not yet secured a single drop of Pure Origin Heavenly Dew from the stone pillar?

As Song Wen’s mind worked through these possibilities, he commenced a search of the pillar, starting from its base and moving upwards.

Having ascended over ten thousand li, he reached the summit of the pillar, only to encounter an immense stone wall obstructing his path.

He then reversed his course, searching downwards, until he arrived at the very foundation of the pillar, yet not a single drop of Pure Origin Heavenly Dew was found.

However, he did identify twelve small indentations upon the pillar, evident signs of the dew having been collected from them.

Song Wen’s brow furrowed deeply.

If these twelve drops were not within Leng Zhi’s storage ring, where could they possibly have gone?

Song Wen plunged his divine sense into Leng Zhi’s Sea of Consciousness, intending to interrogate her divine soul.

However, Leng Zhi’s divine soul had been grievously wounded by the shadow void, its structure riddled with fissures due to the shadow void’s imprecise control of its power. To glean any information, he would first need to mend her soul.

Song Wen possessed no time to dedicate to such an endeavor.

With Leng Zhi’s divine soul now rendered useless, he directly activated the Black Hole within his Sea of Consciousness and absorbed it.

“Could there be others besides the four of us at the bottom of this abyss?” Song Wen pondered internally.

Nevertheless, he swiftly dismissed this line of reasoning.

Another explanation surfaced in his mind: Heng Ziping might have already taken the Pure Origin Heavenly Dew from this location.

Moreover, it was probable that another colossal stone pillar existed nearby, and Heng Ziping had likely claimed the Pure Origin Heavenly Dew from that one as well.

Heng Ziping’s hoard of Pure Origin Heavenly Dew could very possibly rival his own.

This offered a potential reason why Heng Ziping had displayed no interest when Leng Zhi proposed the three of them unite to eliminate Song Wen and subsequently divide his Pure Origin Heavenly Dew.

Song Wen adjusted his position and took flight towards the suspected location of the fourth stone pillar, his aim to confirm his hypothesis.

Although he had never seen this pillar before and was unaware of its precise location, his encounters with the previous two pillars enabled him to roughly ascertain its probable position based on the current pillar’s coordinates.

Soaring a thousand miles above the abyss floor, Song Wen had traversed merely thirty thousand miles when he unexpectedly detected a colossal platform.

The square platform extended approximately a hundred miles in height, its unblemished surface appearing as a solitary, immense block of stone.

Upon meticulously scanning the lofty platform with his divine sense, Song Wen discovered a cave entrance, three meters tall, situated at its eastern base.

Beyond the entrance lay a descending, sloping tunnel.

The tunnel was profound and shrouded in darkness, seemingly protected by a restriction that impeded divine sense perception, rendering it impossible to decipher its internal state.

Song Wen alighted at the cave entrance and gazed upon the two imposing characters carved into the stone wall above:

Immortal’s Tomb!

This place was, in reality, a cultivator’s tomb!

But what then of the Gang Qi Waterfall within the abyss?

Could the Nine Heavens Astral Wind have been deliberately channeled here?

After the Nine Heavens Astral Wind entered the two cavities, where did it proceed?

The two openings were positioned within the wall above, and the sole conduit connecting the wall and the subterranean Immortal’s Tomb comprised those stone pillars.

If the Nine Heavens Astral Wind held such immense value, why was it not directly routed into the tomb?

And what caliber of Cultivation would be requisite to command the Nine Heavens Astral Wind?

Could it truly be as the inscription proclaimed—an Immortal’s Tomb?

Song Wen’s gaze fixed upon the three characters, his mind a whirlwind of thoughts.

He was well aware that immense opportunities lay dormant within this tomb, yet the courage to step across its threshold eluded him. Even the mere gust of wind that emanated from the tomb’s entrance had almost claimed the life of him, a cultivator at the Void Refinement Stage. What unspeakable dangers lurked within its depths?

Abruptly, Song Wen detected a presence and spun around to face his pursuer.

It was Heng Ziping, soaring through the air towards him.

Heng Ziping seemed taken aback upon spotting Song Wen.

"Fellow Daoist Gou Jun, what brings you here? And where is Leng Zhi?"

Upon hearing this, Song Wen instantly grasped the situation: Heng Ziping had indeed discovered this location prior to him, and the Pure Origin Heavenly Dew adorning the nearby stone pillars had already fallen into his possession.

"Leng Zhi is deceased! What of Xue Cong?"

"Xue Cong has also met his end," Heng Ziping confirmed. "His soul has dispersed, and his spirit has vanished entirely."

Song Wen gave a slight nod, then gestured towards the tomb’s entrance.

"It appears you found this tomb some time ago, fellow daoist. Have you dared to venture inside?"

"No," Heng Ziping responded.

"Oh? And why is that?" Song Wen inquired.

Heng Ziping turned the question back, "Then why have you yourself not entered, fellow daoist?"

A shared glance passed between them, and a subtle smile played on both their lips.

"Since neither of us is willing to enter this tomb, our only recourse is to return to the Gang Qi Waterfall and await a favorable opportunity to ascend back to the surface," Song Wen declared.

"I fear we cannot depart just yet," Heng Ziping stated.

"And why is that?" Song Wen pressed.

"After dealing with Xue Cong, I made an inspection of the area beneath the Gang Qi Waterfall. The waterfall has become exceedingly unstable, its flow shifting direction in less than a hundred breaths. Such a fleeting window, even with propitious winds, is far too transient for either of us to escape into the abyss."

Heng Ziping paused for a moment before elaborating.

"It seems your earlier conjecture held merit. Our sudden arrival here and our hasty actions have indeed interfered with the operational stability of the Gang Qi Waterfall."

Song Wen’s brow twitched subtly as he murmured in a low tone, "If that is the case, then extricating ourselves from this predicament will prove most troublesome."

He entertained the possibility of bypassing the abyss altogether and excavating a new passage directly to the surface.

However, this thought was swiftly abandoned.

Due to the pervasive gang qi, the rock strata in the vicinity of the abyss had transformed into an extraordinarily dense material, vastly dissimilar to ordinary stone. Furthermore, the distance to the surface remained an enigma, likely spanning tens of thousands of miles. Carving such a tunnel would be an arduous undertaking, and its completion in a limited timeframe seemed virtually impossible.

As for employing Earth Evasion Talismans, that too was not a viable option.

Earth Evasion Talismans possessed their limitations.

When traversing underground, they were subjected to immense subterranean pressures from the overlying earth and rock.

Should one delve too deep, the spiritual luminescence concentrated by the talisman would inevitably be extinguished by the crushing weight, rendering the Earth Evasion ineffective.

"Fellow Daoist Gou Jun, since we find ourselves confined here together, why do we not explore the tomb? We might uncover an alternative egress, or perhaps unearth unparalleled treasures within."

"Your logic is sound, fellow daoist." Song Wen extended his hand in a gesture of invitation. "Shall we make our advance?"
