Previously on Record of a Demon's Cultivation...
Song Wen, posing as Gou Jun, encountered Xu Mengyu, who noted his resemblance to someone from forty years ago. Bai Wei detailed the Luyang City battle's mutual devastation, where Jian Xiao's Profound Heaven Spirit Treasure forced the Six Fiends Hall to retreat into the Primordial Qi Death Zone. Desperate to repair her worsening Sea of Consciousness, Bai Wei implored Song Wen to heal her again, compensating with spirit stones, alchemy insights, and rare herbs. As Bai Wei departed for her sect, she instructed Xu Mengyu to entertain him.

Xu Mengyu’s gaze followed Bai Wei’s retreating form until it vanished into the distant horizon. Then, her attention returned to Song Wen.

“Senior Gou Jun, you bear an uncanny resemblance to a dear friend of mine,” she remarked.

“Oh? In what manner?” Song Wen inquired.

“Your tone of voice, your very mannerisms… they are remarkably similar,” Xu Mengyu explained. “Furthermore, you both seem to harbor an immense, sea-of-blood-level hatred for the Six Fiends Hall.”

A slight twitch betrayed Song Wen’s lips. He suddenly recalled that he had fabricated this same sentiment to both Xu Mengyu and Bai Wei. Such casually constructed falsehoods, he realized, hadn’t been given much thought.

Before Song Wen could formulate a response, Xu Mengyu continued, “However, your appearances, your auras, and your cultivation realms are all quite distinct. You couldn’t possibly be him. He only reached the Divine Transformation Stage, which is far below your esteemed senior level.” A flicker of wistfulness crossed her face as she spoke.

“It appears that individual holds significant importance to you, Miss Xu. Might I ask why you haven’t pursued him?” Song Wen, seeking to divert Xu Mengyu’s focus from his own deception, skillfully shifted the conversation.

Indeed, Xu Mengyu’s attention drifted, her gaze leaving Song Wen and wandering towards the vast, open sky.

“I haven’t the slightest idea of his whereabouts, so how could I possibly find him? Besides, I cannot disobey my master’s decree. She explicitly forbade me from having any further contact with him. She asserted that his origins were shrouded in mystery and that he must be a treacherous individual, harboring ulterior motives for approaching me. To ensure we remained separated, my master not only confined me to a twenty-year seclusion but also confiscated the Communication Jade Slips we used to stay in touch. She even took the jade slips from my two Senior Sisters. I have lost all contact with him. I truly don’t know if we shall ever have the chance to meet again in this lifetime.”

Song Wen replied, “Miss Xu, while your master may appear strict and unyielding, her concerns might not be unfounded. Perhaps, as she suggested, that man genuinely harbors malicious intent. It’s possible she recognized his true nature and prohibited your association with him.”

Xu Mengyu slowly shook her head.

“That is not the case. My master has always maintained a strict policy forbidding me from any interaction with men. In her worldview, there isn’t a single virtuous man in existence. Had you not intervened to save her life, given her disposition, she would never have extended even a sliver of kindness to you.”

Song Wen found himself at a loss for words, and a heavy silence settled between them.

Fortunately, a figure suddenly descended from the distance, rapidly approaching them—it was Bai Wei, who had departed moments earlier.

Bai Wei alighted upon the Giant Flying Ship and presented Song Wen with a storage pouch.

“Herein lie a thousand stalks of Mingqing Grass, but only a hundred stalks of True Yang Grass. The True Yang Grass was procured from beyond the Myriad Swords Pavilion, and the Precious Treasures Pavilion maintains limited stock, hence I could not acquire their entire supply. However, I have instructed the pavilion steward to procure additional True Yang Grass at the earliest opportunity. I shall compensate for the remaining nine hundred stalks then.”

Song Wen accepted the storage pouch, his expression radiating gratitude.

“Thank you kindly, Senior.”

Bai Wei responded, “As long as you are content. When may you commence treating my injuries?”

Song Wen assured her, “Whenever it proves most convenient for you, Senior. I am prepared at any moment.”

A subtle smile graced Bai Wei’s lips.

“In that case, let us commence immediately. This Giant Flying Ship, though perhaps lacking in refinement, offers the seclusion we require.”

As she spoke, her gaze shifted towards the ship’s towering structure.

The three-story ship tower, adorned with intricately carved beams and pillars, exuded an aura of both elegance and imposing grandeur.

Song Wen affirmed, “I shall adhere strictly to your directives, Senior.”

Bai Wei surveyed their immediate surroundings before adding, “This particular area experiences a considerable volume of aerial traffic. If the ship lingers here for an extended period, it is bound to attract unwanted attention. We must find a more secluded haven.”

With a decisive command, the Giant Flying Ship surged forward, veering away from the confines of Great Tan City.

Under the masterful control of Bai Wei, a cultivator of the Body Integration Stage, the vessel rapidly covered tens of thousands of miles, eventually reaching a remote, uninhabited mountain valley.

Bai Wei swiftly activated a formation, erecting a shimmering, transparent barrier that encompassed the entire valley.

“Mengyu, you shall be responsible for perimeter security. Gou Jun, accompany me into the ship tower so I may tend to my injuries.”

“Rest assured, Master,” Xu Mengyu replied dutifully. “This disciple will ensure that no one disturbs you and Senior Gou Jun.”

Bai Wei instructed, “There is no need for such apprehension. Should any cultivators of significant standing happen to pass by, simply mention my name. They will likely show me due respect and proceed on their way.”

With a graceful gesture towards the ship tower, she addressed Song Wen, “Gou Jun, pray, lead the way.”

“Senior, please, after you,” Song Wen responded with polite deference.

Bai Wei offered no further objection. With an elegant leap, she ascended to the third floor and nonchalantly opened the door.

Song Wen followed close behind, soaring upwards and entering the room after her.

The chamber was minimally furnished, containing merely tables, chairs, and a low couch draped with a snow-white animal hide.

Bai Wei gestured, and the door automatically swung shut.

It appeared the door was protected by a formation, as an unseen Restriction materialized, thwarting any external attempts to spy.

Without any hesitation, Bai Wei proceeded to the couch and lay down fully.

"Gou Jun, come here."

Song Wen approached the couch and looked down at Bai Wei. Her eyes, profound as a tranquil lake, instilled in him a peculiar sense of unease.

The previous occasion when he had healed Bai Wei, she had been unconscious, allowing him to concentrate without any distraction.

Now, with Bai Wei alert and her eyes shining brilliantly, the prospect of leaning over her made Song Wen feel rather awkward.

Perceiving Song Wen's reticence, Bai Wei added through their connection, "Gou Jun, you have no need to fret about anything."

Song Wen uttered a soft agreement, bent his body, and pressed close to Bai Wei.

Their foreheads connected, their lips met, and their gazes intertwined.

Song Wen experienced a warm, soft sensation between their lips, accompanied by a subtle, delicate aroma—a composition of orchid and musk.

A flicker of bashfulness played in Bai Wei’s eyes before she closed them.

"Gou Jun, commence the healing," Bai Wei transmitted via spiritual sense.

"Senior, kindly unfurl your Sea of Consciousness to permit my divine sense entry," Song Wen conveyed back through spiritual sense.

No sooner had the thought left his mind than Song Wen's divine sense cautiously extended outward. Bai Wei had already opened her Sea of Consciousness, granting his divine sense unhindered access.

He initially examined Bai Wei’s Sea of Consciousness, corroborating her earlier diagnosis: it remained extensively damaged, showing no indication of recovery whatsoever.

Immediately thereafter, his divine sense ventured towards the innermost depths of the Sea of Consciousness, the sanctuary of Bai Wei’s divine soul.

However, a veil of Mist concealed the deepest parts, preventing Song Wen from penetrating the obscurity.

Without delay, Song Wen unleashed his divine sense power, meticulously forging a narrow passage linking his own Sea of Consciousness to Bai Wei’s.

With a minute mental impetus, he directed the Sea of Consciousness Black Hole, releasing cascades of Soul Source Essence that coursed through the established conduit into Bai Wei’s Sea of Consciousness.

One after another, radiant orbs streamed through the channel, descending into Bai Wei’s Sea of Consciousness.

These orbs seemed to multiply, swirling with great intensity within the Sea of Consciousness, akin to fireflies illuminating the night sky or a celestial river cascading down—an ethereal and dreamlike spectacle.

Some of these luminous spheres alighted upon the afflicted regions of the Sea of Consciousness, dissipating instantly upon contact.

In their wake, a delicate luminescence briefly shimmered across the wounded areas.

The glow vanished swiftly, but upon closer scrutiny, it became evident that the damaged sites had subtly begun their process of regeneration.
