The major Immortal Dao powers have brokered a rare alliance with the Demonic Tao to counter the growing threat of the Sea Clan. To incentivize participation in the upcoming East Sea expedition, they have offered significant rewards, including control over captured Secret Realms and ancient cultivation techniques. While most family leaders and cultivators are eager to seize these benefits, internal questions about the distribution of wealth and group loyalty begin to surface. As thousands volunteer for the dangerous mission, underlying tensions within the clan suggest that the preparation for war is triggering a domestic crisis as well.

Although they understood the situation, they lacked the power to alter the schemes or aims of the Immortal Tao. The primary obstacle was that time remained in short supply. Currently, the bulk of the Sea Clan’s military might was ensnared in a fierce war against the Demonic Tao on the West Continent. Consequently, they were forced into a defensive posture, merely biding their time and seeking ways to stall the enemy to minimize their own losses.

Before long, the Xiaxian Sect and the Yumen He Family arrived, accompanied by tens of thousands of sect disciples, along with a vast multitude of loose cultivators and vassals. Like tigers descending from the mountain peaks or flood dragons crashing into the depths, they threw the surrounding waters into utter turmoil, sowing chaos wherever they ventured.

Meanwhile, as news reached the Cave Abyss Sect and Shanhai State, their own cultivators found it increasingly difficult to remain idle.

"Clan Leader, when shall we commence our attack? Why not seize this prime opportunity and act now? We could potentially capture sea territory from the Sea Clan," a clan member remarked with visible confusion.

Li Debo shook his head, stating, "Our opponents have yet to make a move; there is no reason to be impatient."

Generally, such a matter should not have necessitated the Clan Leader’s personal intervention, yet due to specific calculations and strategic foresight, he chose to depart from his clan grounds to personally lead this campaign against the Sea Clan.

As soon as word arrived that the Cave Abyss Sect had committed their forces, Li Debo issued the command for his clansmen to engage the Sea Clan ahead of all other factions.

"Kill!"

After an extended silence, thunderous war cries erupted along the perimeter of the Ten Thousand Spirit Sea Area.

Before the low-level water devils could even catch sight of the cultivators, waves of paralyzing terror gripped their hearts, causing their fighting spirit to collapse.

BOOM—

Tens of thousands of flashes of spirit light ignited between the sea and the sky. While dazzling, they were saturated with murderous intent, raining down with cataclysmic power. Within moments, the surface of the water was transformed into a graveyard for the water devils.

Their morale was utterly shattered after almost no resistance at all.

It was inevitable. The Li family was facing merely tens of thousands of water devils, the strongest of whom barely reached the Earth Immortal realm.

It could be said that throughout thousands of years of conflict between the Li family and the Sea Clan, this was the smallest engagement in history.

The fact that the water devils did not break into a total rout instantly but instead scattered and fled was the only testament to their discipline.

Yet, that was the extent of their capability. Relying on them to regroup and return for a real battle was purely a pipedream.

"Finish them quickly. Then execute the plan as discussed!" Li Debo ordered, his demeanor remaining as serene as a calm lake.

Since the scattered water devils were no longer a cohesive threat, the cultivators fragmented into smaller groups to pursue individual targets.

"Die!"

A member of the Earth Immortal clan lunged at an Earth Immortal realm water devil with a spear in hand. The weapon shimmered coldly as it tore through the atmosphere. The water devil failed to anticipate the strike—

Just as it stood on the brink of death, a sudden flare of spirit light enveloped it. It was a final, emergency measure; having sensed the mortal peril, the creature had triggered a defensive formation to evade destruction.

But that was its final resort. Immediately after, the spear danced through the air once more, driving home the lethal strike—relentless and unwavering.

"Dammit!" The water devil, panicked and furious, realized its dire predicament. To break the pursuit, it understood it had to neutralize its attacker. It roared, "Do you truly look down on me this much?!"

Before the sound of its voice faded, it lunged forward like a projectile, charging the cultivator in a heartbeat.

Its opponent was well-prepared, however, and offered no quarter, refusing to allow a reversal of the outcome. Following a savage confrontation, the cultivator emerged victorious, successfully ending the water devil.

...

Simultaneously—

Across the sprawling expanse of the ocean, tens of thousands of minor skirmishes erupted. Armed with superior numbers, the tactical initiative, and surging morale, the cultivators effortlessly dominated the battlefield.

The water devils, conversely, had been hurriedly conscripted, with many forced into the fray against their will. Combined with the Immortal Tao’s tactical advantage, their situation deteriorated rapidly.

Disheartened and lacking their usual numbers, they had little strength to muster under such oppressive conditions.

The result was a blood-red sea, choked with the broken remains of the Sea Clan—an ghastly sight.

The cultivators, however, viewed the carnage with relief. Beams of spirit light darted across the surface, reaping the spiritual spoils from the fallen water devils.

Though there were losses, fewer than a few hundred fell during the clash—and many of those were expected to recover. Fewer than one hundred were truly lost.

Throughout their long history of bloodshed with the Sea Clan, this was the most inexpensive victory they had ever secured!

Li Debo opted not to join the front line. From the onset of the conflict, he remained aboard a spirit boat that appeared modest yet was built with exceptional durability.

He had no other choice; even as an Earth Immortal, his position within the clan made such risks strictly prohibited.

Once the chaos subsided, Li Debo signaled his clansmen to pause and replenish their depleted mana.

The greater war was far from its conclusion. In truth, it had only just commenced.

Regarding the vassal and loose cultivators, Li Debo paid them no mind. They left their exhausted or wounded companions behind and pressed deep into the East Sea.

The East Sea was currently emptier than it had been for centuries. The majority of the Sea Clan had moved to the West Continent to clash with the Demonic Tao, leaving only a weak rearguard—many of whom had been wiped out in the initial waves of the current battle.

It was highly probable that many Sea Clan outposts were now guarded only by the infirm or the elderly.

The Sea Clan was renowned for its vast hoard of resources. Having such a rare opportunity, the vassal and loose cultivators were hardly going to let it slide. Despite their fatigue, they raced to beat the Li family, eager to claim as much loot as possible.

Li Debo perceived their schemes instantly but remained indifferent. These were merely spiritual trinkets, rarely worth intense conflict.

Furthermore, they had contributed to the victory. If they returned empty-handed, why would they continue to serve the Li family in the future?

After a session of cultivation to restore their condition, the clansmen were organized into ten squads of three to four hundred, and tasked with venturing into the East Sea to hunt for spiritual treasures.

With their current strength and organization, the East Sea posed minimal danger, provided they avoided the deepest regions.

...

Each path has its own tale.

Returning to the decision regarding Li Debo leaving Mount Wanxian to lead this campaign—initially, the Elders were fiercely opposed.

While the Sea Clan’s presence in the East Sea was currently diminished, what if an unforeseen variable arose? Should Li Debo suffer an injury or, worse, perish, it would invite catastrophe upon the entire clan.
