Granny Zhang departed from Zhang Yueshan's suburban yard to stay with Xinyan at the school courtyard. Xinyan was commended by school leaders and a special department representative, receiving a certificate and bonus for her heroic actions, with her father present; no public ceremony was held for safety. She stored the items in her space while reflecting on outmaneuvering Old Man Xue and suspecting her recent treasure find near the Mechanical Factory belongs to the Gu Family ancestors.

I simply haven’t brought it up yet, since the items are kept in my space now, making it tough to clarify.

Following our chat that day, Grandpa handed me a leather map, claiming it marked the treasure’s spot.

At first, I hesitated to accept it, yet Grandpa insisted that not everybody locates it, as fate plays a role too.

That leather map sits in my space now, together with the Jade Pendant Liang Dahai gave back and the other one Grandpa had gifted earlier. I’ll head there whenever I get the chance.

Soon after arriving back at the small courtyard, Han Jingchen stepped inside.

Granny Zhang spotted him and grinned, "Perfect timing, the dishes are all set to serve."

Xinyan glanced at Han Jingchen and chuckled, "Dad, didn’t you go off with them?"

Han Jingchen showed a doting expression, "During this triumphant time, Dad naturally prioritizes his little princess."

Xinyan joked, "You’re not just here to check out my rewards, are you?"

Han Jingchen laughed softly, "Truth be told, I’m interested, but mainly I came to rejoice with you."

With those words, he lifted the drink he held.

Xinyan scooted closer, "Dad, what reward did you snag this round?"

Han Jingchen gently poked his daughter’s forehead, "Curious, are you?"

Xinyan bobbed her head enthusiastically, "Yeah, yeah, spill it!"

Han Jingchen set his drink aside, "I won’t say."

Before long, the father and daughter dashed around the courtyard, stirring up a lively fuss.

From the kitchen window, Granny Zhang observed the father-daughter playfulness, her face beaming with joy.

Her thoughts drifted to her own son, pondering when he’d settle down and start a family.

After their courtyard romp, Han Jingchen murmured softly, "I skipped a reward and secured special permission for your mom instead."

Xinyan queried in bewilderment, "What’s that about?"

Han Jingchen leaned in and whispered, "Your mom aims to launch an electronics factory; she fancies a certain plot of land, but negotiations stalled without success."

Xinyan got it right away and flashed her dad a thumbs-up, "Mom’s gotta be thrilled."

Han Jingchen flashed his daughter an enigmatic grin, "Not saying a word."

Xinyan quipped playfully, "Dad, can we even get along anymore?"

Han Jingchen chuckled and headed to the kitchen, "We’ll table that; Granny Zhang’s food is prepared—time to dine."

Granny Zhang had caught the father-daughter exchange, sensing joyful news that called for festivity.

She quickly tossed in fried peanuts, whipped up scrambled eggs, and cut some luncheon meat.

Granny Zhang lacked details on Xinyan’s earlier exploits with the others; Han Jingchen and Xinyan never shared specifics, only mentioning great news worth celebrating.

Granny Zhang refrained from prying; good tidings alone filled her with delight.

Post-meal, Han Jingchen headed back to duties, while Xinyan returned to campus; they exited side by side.

Han Jingchen had summoned the driver beforehand for pickup at Jing University, so he strolled alongside Xinyan briefly.

To their surprise, Gu Yingying appeared with several classmates.

Heaven knows what crossed Gu Yingying’s mind, yet she approached Xinyan with her group, "Xinyan, it’s been ages."

Xinyan rolled her eyes outright—was something off with her? They bunked in adjacent dorms; how could they miss each other?

Claiming no chats lately would ring truer.

No clue what fancy struck her, seeking attention like this.

Gu Yingying eyed Xinyan’s belongings and smiled, "Heading to school too? Come along with us."

Then she eyed Han Jingchen, "Who might this be?"

Xinyan, irked by her fake act but composed before peers, replied coolly, "My dad."

Truth was, they’d crossed paths once prior, but Gu Yingying forgot, prompting the question.

Han Jingchen knew Gu Yingying instantly but kept it under wraps.

Xinyan had zero interest in tagging along, "We’re busy; I’ll head to school shortly."

Scorn flickered in Gu Yingying’s gaze as she beckoned her friends away.

After their departure, Han Jingchen remarked, "That classmate of yours should get her eyesight tested."

Xinyan erupted in giggles, "You caught that, huh?"

Han Jingchen added, "I recognized one of those classmates from before."

Xinyan frowned puzzled, "Where from?"

Han Jingchen answered teasingly, "You’ll find out; you could encounter her beyond school grounds soon."

Xinyan pressed, "Quit the mystery—who is it?"

Han Jingchen gazed at Gu Yingying’s fading form and revealed, "She ties to the Gu Family; her father’s your mom’s fifth cousin—they dropped by our place once."

Xinyan observed Gu Yingying’s exit, a sly smile curling her lips.
