Reborn As Noble Chapter 1586: The Wrong Target ( 1586 )

"Y... you two... became his wife... before me?"
Mylezra placed both hands gently on her still-flat stomach and smiled softly.
"I’m carrying our first love’s child. His first child with me... We’re expecting."
Eridith smirked, wiggling her eyebrows.
"I’ve already had one with Garius. A beautiful, cute daughter. Her name is Vivica. She has my eyes, but his personality. She’s perfect."
Nyxara’s eyes widened. Her aura flared hard, the pressure doubling, the ground beneath them trembling visibly. The nearby dock creaked, and several battle maids stiffened in their positions.
"My, my~ Nyxara, calm down~" Mylezra’s smile didn’t waver. "As much as I would love to entertain you... to give you the fight you clearly want right now... I’m carrying Garius’s child. I don’t want to risk it. You know how devastated he would be if something happened. Our first love would be heartbroken. Surely you don’t want that."
Nyxara turned her glare toward Eridith, dropping into a ready stance. Eridith flinched hard, her smirk vanishing in an instant.
"W... wait! I’m pregnant too! I’m also carrying his child! So you can’t..."
Nyxara’s aura flared even harder, the pressure spiking again, the ground cracking under her feet.
Then she threw her head back and screamed.
"GARIUSSSSS!!!!!!!"
Her voice echoed across the entire island, loud enough to rattle the windows of the villa, loud enough to silence the birds in the trees, loud enough for everyone on the private island to hear.
Nyxara, already furious, glanced around once. Her crimson eyes swept the dock, the path, the distant villas, and she vanished in the blink of an eye.
Several of the Armand battle maids let out quiet exhales and vanished as well, following her in perfect formation. One of the lead maids tapped the mana talkie at her ear and reported the progress in a low, clipped voice.
Eridith let out a relieved exhale, her shoulders dropping.
"Looks like she’s going to find Garius."
Mylezra smirked, tilting her head toward her.
"Ara~ Pregnant? My, my~ How convenient~ And here I thought you were the one who always bragged about never lying."
Eridith rolled her eyes.
"Shut up. It’s a pain in the ass to fight Nyxara, especially in her condition. And I hate fighting her. She always ends up crying like a child afterward, and then I feel bad for the rest of the day. I just want to relax and eat my meat in peace. I don’t need her drama ruining my vacation."
Mylezra raised her palm to cover her lips, stifling her laugh.
Eridith rolled her eyes again and turned toward the path.
"Let’s go back to our villa. We’ve had our reunion. That’s enough excitement for one afternoon." She paused, mumbling over her shoulder. "She’ll calm down soon. She always does."
Meanwhile.
On a certain area of the private island.
"Cuquawked! Cuquawked!"
Buddy strutted proudly outside the portable building where Javier’s girls were resting. He bobbed his head, flapped his wings, puffed out his chest, and walked in a slow, smug circle, calling out for Liana with obvious excitement.
Javier lay sprawled on a soft rug under the shade of a large tree, one hand behind his head, the other lazily holding a cold drink. Ice clinked in the glass as he tilted it to his lips. His eyes were half-lidded, his body completely relaxed, watching Buddy’s antics with lazy amusement.
"Cuquawked~ Cuquawked~" (Liana~ Come out. Stop napping already~ I want to show you something!)
Buddy paused mid-strut when he heard the sound of a door opening on the first-floor balcony. Gloria leaned out, nudged her glasses up, reached for something beside her, and threw it straight at him.
Buddy’s eyes widened. He dodged sideways just in time, the object smacking into the sand behind him. He flapped his wings and let out an indignant squawk.
"Cuquawked! Cuquawked!?" (Oi! Big-boobed witch! What is wrong with you!?)
Gloria crossed her arms under her breasts, glaring down at him.
"We’re all sleeping here! You’re squawking like a rooster at dawn! Some of us are trying to rest! Do you have any idea how long it took everyone to settle down?!"
Mimi appeared beside her, rubbing her eyes with one hand, her ears drooping and her tail bristling with irritation. She hissed down at Buddy.
"Nya! Buddy! Mimi was sleeping! Mimi was having a nice dream! Now Mimi is awake because of you!"
Buddy turned his gaze toward Javier, who was still sprawled on the rug, sipping his cold drink in complete relaxation. He squawked with disbelief.
"Cuquawked!?" (Can you believe these girls!?)
Javier let out a soft chuckle, lowering his glass.
"I already told you, Buddy. Wait. Let them rest. Show them the fruit after they wake up. But no~ You couldn’t wait. You had to come strutting over here, squawking like a rooster at sunrise. And now look at you. You woke them all up and made them grumpy."
Buddy tilted his head in confusion, letting out another indignant squawk.
"Cuquawked? Cuquawked." (How is it my fault? It’s already past afternoon! They’ve been resting for hours! Naps don’t take that long! They should be awake by now! Anyone who sleeps this much is just lazy.)
Javier just let out a soft laugh, tilted his drink to his lips, and let out a relaxed groan as the cool liquid slid down his throat.
Felicia appeared at the doorway, one hand pressed to her mouth as she yawned. She stretched her arms above her head, then walked out onto the balcony, glancing down at Buddy.
"What a weird big orange pekko. Other pekkos, including mine, always take a nap during this time of day if they’re not nesting. And yet this one... He’s running around, squawking at the top of his lungs like he’s been possessed."
Buddy narrowed his eyes toward the girls, ready to squawk back, when Liana appeared gracefully beside them. She tucked a strand of silver hair behind her ear, smiled at Javier, then glanced down at Buddy.
"What is it now, Buddy?"
"Cuquawked!"
Buddy spun around and sprinted toward Javier, dipping his beak to lift the fruit basket. He bolted back toward Liana and set the basket down on the sand, overflowing with ripe, glowing fruit. He hopped in place, flapping both wings, his head bobbing wildly with excitement.
"Cuquawked! Cuquawked!" (This fruit! My beautiful elf witch! This is delicious! Rare fruit! Even better than the rainbow fruits!)
Liana smiled and shook her head slowly.
"I see. And what do you want me to do with it~?"
Just as Buddy was about to squawk his answer, his head snapped up. Liana vaulted over the balcony railing of the first floor and landed in front of Javier, her hidden white-ore blade already drawn from her thigh sheath. She dropped into a defensive stance, her body between Javier and the open air.
A booted foot was already descending toward Javier. Buddy lunged, spreading his massive wing to shield his master.
The kick struck Buddy’s wing with a heavy thud.
The woman flipped backward through the air, landing gracefully on the sand several meters away. She crouched low, one knee bent, one hand pressed to the ground. Her dark red hair swept through the air, settling around her shoulders. Her crimson eyes lifted, the horns at her forehead glinting faintly, and her lips curled into a dangerous smile.
Her aura flared around her, sharp and heavy.
"Found... you~"
