Outside in the open courtyard near Javier’s personal workshop and pekko pen.
"Double spinning kick!!"
Mimi launched herself into the air, spinning twice before her foot came crashing down toward Delya, who barely managed to block the strike with her forearm.
"Mimi! Stop playing around!" Delya puffed her cheeks, her voice carrying a mix of frustration and amusement.
"Nya?" Mimi landed gracefully, a cheeky grin spreading across her face as her tail swayed in excitement. "But this is just training, nya!"
"Still! Danna-sama said we need to train properly!"
"Ooo~" Mimi put one finger on her lips, tilting her head up at the sky as if deep in thought. Then, in a blur of motion, she launched another attack, her laughter echoing through the courtyard. "But being serious is no fun, nya~!"
"Mimi!!!!!"
While Gloria watched from the side, she nudged her glasses and let out a weary exhale before turning her gaze toward Liana, who was standing with her arms crossed, watching Gracelle run laps around the courtyard. Gracelle was already panting hard, her face flushed and her steps unsteady.
"Five more laps!" Liana’s voice rang out, sharp and commanding.
"Eeeehhhhhh!? F... five?!" Gracelle’s eyes widened in panic.
"No excuses! Faster, faster!"
Gracelle averted her eyes in fear when she caught sight of Liana’s terrifyingly serious face and the aura radiating from her. She immediately picked up her pace, running faster than before in sheer panic.
"I’m sorry!!!"
Gloria exhaled again, shaking her head.
Look like someone is going to die soon. Liana’s training is always strict, but for someone who just regained her health... this is brutal.
Liana crossed her arms, her sharp gaze fixed on Gracelle as she struggled through her laps. "You should be grateful it’s me training you. If Mrs. Erinette or the main training program took charge, it would be far stricter and harder than this."
She then turned her head, her eyes locking onto Mimi, who was still playfully dodging Delya’s serious attacks. Her voice cut through the courtyard like a blade.
"Mimi! You and Delya are already wearing training outfits with the strongest barrier enchantments! Stop playing around and get serious!"
Both Mimi and Delya froze mid-motion. Mimi opened her mouth to stomp her foot and protest, but before she could utter a word, Liana’s glare intensified, her aura turning into something more terrifying.
"Eeep!!" Mimi let out a shriek, immediately snapping into a serious stance. Delya followed suit, summoning three phantom clones around her as they began training with real magic, their movements sharp and focused.
Gloria exhaled and shook her head, nudging her glasses back into place.
"Liana..."
"What?" Liana glanced at her, her arms still crossed. "Instead of standing there doing nothing, you should go do some warm-ups. We’re all training, aren’t we?"
"Ara~" Gloria smiled sweetly, nudging her glasses again as she crossed her arms. "How should I train, then? With a dummy?" Her smirk widened, her eyes glinting with challenge. "Or perhaps... you want to ’train’ with me?"
"My my~" Liana’s lips curled into a faint smile, her eyes sharpening. "Is that a challenge, second wife? If you want to test yourself against me, the first wife, then by all means..." She began stretching, her movements fluid and deliberate. "I’ll be happy to remind you of your place, Second Wife~"
In a blink of an eye, both Liana and Gloria vanished from where they stood, their auras flaring as they clashed in mid-air with a resounding impact.
Their movements were a blur of speed, each strike, chop, and kick meeting with perfect defense and counter. Liana’s attacks were sharp and precise, while Gloria’s were fluid and unpredictable. They exchanged blows across the courtyard, twisting and spinning as they fought from the air down to the ground, deflecting and repelling each other’s strikes with casual ease.
"Nyaaa~ Big Sis Liana and Big Sis Gloria are fighting! Now’s not the time for us to practice, nya!" Mimi plopped down onto the ground, crossing her legs as she watched the fight with sparkling eyes, her tail swaying excitedly as she followed their movements.
Delya exhaled and shook her head, mumbling under her breath. "Big Sis Liana is going to scold us for being so carefree..." She sighed before gracefully sitting down on the ground.
Gracelle, panting heavily, walked over with tired, shaky legs and collapsed beside Mimi, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she tried to recover.
"Haa... haaa..."
Mimi, who was still trying her best to follow Liana and Gloria’s movements, tilted her head to the side and glanced at Gracelle.
"Nya? What’s wrong, junior? Already tired?"
"I... is this..." Gracelle panted, wiping sweat from her brow. "...normal training... for everyone?"
Delya smiled as she poured water from a jug into a crystal glass, taking a slow, graceful sip before turning her gaze to Gracelle. "It’s part of the routine exercise. But Big Sis Liana and Big Sis Gloria rarely fight each other seriously, so this is a rare chance to see their true power."
"Oh..." Gracelle sat up as Delya handed her a glass of water. She took a sip, then immediately stuck out her tongue. "It’s warm... Is there no cold drink?"
"Nya?" Mimi glanced at Gracelle, shaking her head. "Cold drinks aren’t good for your body when you’re tired, nya. Just drink the warm water and enjoy the rare fight between the big sis."
While outside Javier’s personal workshop.
Javier hummed happily as he worked, his hands glowing with magic as he crafted a new part for his latest invention. Raw materials; adamantite, bronze, mithril, and a single orange feather from Buddy, floated in mid-air, melting into a shimmering liquid before shaping into the exact form he desired.
"Husband?"
"Hmm? Yes, Felicia?" Javier glanced over at Felicia, who was watching him with wide, curious eyes, her tail swaying gently as she marveled at the fusion of materials.
"Are you going to invent new knights?" Felicia asked, her gaze shifting to the large, gleaming bronze-orange part floating nearby. It shimmered with a unique metallic sheen, a blend of all the best materials fused into one.
Javier grinned happily, his eyes focused on the part as he climbed a small ladder and carefully placed it onto a section of the nearly completed frame.
"Yes! Ehehehe! This is a new kind of knight! I plan to make it so it can be controlled manually, like sitting inside and piloting it, or controlled from a distance using motion control, just like the silver and golden knights Father and Alf use. And also..."
He placed both hands on his hips, tilting his chin up with a smug expression, puffing out his chest proudly.
"It’ll have an auto-mode, it can also fight on its own, just like my other puppet knights."
