Rio warns Ashtel of an impending world war and the need for preparation. He hints at a massive invasion and the opening of an SSS-rank dungeon, urging a defensive strategy. Ashtel agrees to convince the world alliance, despite Rio's cryptic warnings and his own mysterious knowledge.

Once the spaceship landed, Ashtel left right away, saying that Raji was urging him on the phone to hurry up and come over.

Due to the disaster, too much work had already piled up, and delaying it wasn’t possible anymore, so Ashtel had to leave first.

Before leaving, he didn’t forget to motivate the group, though, and told them all to continue training and improving themselves.

For awakeners, stagnancy is sin; the moment you stop walking on your ’path’ and stop working hard for your goals, your progress becomes stagnant, and you might lose the chance of ever reaching them.

Thus, after bidding Ashtel farewell, Link and Riya boarded their car and left to train.

They both knew that once Ashtel and Raji were done with paperwork and other formalities, it would be time for Riya to start wandering across the nation for healing miasmic corruption; there wasn’t much time left to prepare.

Watching Link and Riya leave in a hurry, Rio and Lia also had no choice but to head back too.

Sitting in the car, Lia felt quite disappointed by this series of events.

"The happy vacation we were all looking forward to... went down the drain and got cut short so much that it’s really disappointing... sigh~"

"It’s really weird how every time we go somewhere something always ends up happening... I wonder if our group is a big disaster magnet or something."

Hearing Lia’s words, Rio got reminded of the fact that due to Fade having all the luck that was supposed to be Link’s, the current Link is extremely unlucky and is hated by the heavens due to jealousy for his talent.

’It won’t be wrong to say that it was Link’s bad luck that had been attracting trouble all along...’

Riya was fairly lucky, Lia wasn’t too lucky or unlucky, and Rio was not affected by the concept of luck due to his unique existence, so it was clear that it was Link who was dragging the entire group down with him all along.

’Tch, that musclehead. I would better not go with him on any more vacations; he’s a walking disaster magnet!’

Rio completely ignored the fact that this time the disaster was attracted by him, not Link, and threw all the blame on Link’s horrible luck.

"We can go on vacations later someday once things calm down... it would be better to just go by ourselves this time... hmm, a couple’s vacation sounds good."

Hearing those words, Lia nodded her head.

"That’s a nice idea... but yeah, we will have to delay it for a while; most nations in the world are currently trying their best to recover from disaster; it would take a while before normal tourism resumes across the globe..."

"Talking about going across the globe, all nations are trying to invite you over to help cure the miasmic corruption..."

"Going around to those nations can be considered a sort of world tour too, I think..."

At those words, Rio just waved his hand and replied calmly,

"No way, that won’t be a vacation or trip; I would be busy all the time and will not be able to enjoy the tour with you; it would be just a business trip with barely any time to spend on personal affairs..."

"I wouldn’t even consider that a world tour; it would be more accurate to say that it would be free labour with no reward whatsoever..."

Rio was not a saint or a hero; even if the disaster was partially caused because of the demon king aiming for him, Rio was not the type to feel obligated for the collateral damage.

He had no such heroic feelings of guilt and regret for the loss that the world had suffered from.

He only cared about Lia; the rest of the world was of no particular interest to him. It may seem cruel and selfish of him, but Rio felt no guilt about the matter.

’Well, if I become an SS-ranker, I can easily suck out the entire planet’s miasmic corruption in one go and make it disappear instantly from the entire planet...’

’So, me putting my precious time on advancement is more beneficial to the rest of the world if considered this way... the outcome would be the same; I would help cure the world of its miasmic decay...’

’Pretty much the same result compared to running around everywhere to help...’

Thinking so far, Rio realized that he had gone too far and was thinking in the wrong direction, so he calmed himself down by pinching Lia’s squishy cheeks.

’Tch, after reaching my current state, my grasp on my humanity is really becoming weaker and weaker...’

’Sucking all the miasma out of the world will completely shatter the demon race on this planet and will kill billions of beings that have their destiny tainted with miasma...’

’Such a violent change in the strings of destinies of the world will undoubtedly affect the rest of the creatures too...’

Ignoring Lia’s confused eyes, Rio patted her head and messed her hairstyle while thinking to himself,

’Thankfully I have Lia to keep me calm; otherwise, I might have killed several billion creatures just now... Losing touch with your humanity is kind of scary...’

Lia had no idea that she had just saved half of the planet and billions of lives by sacrificing her hairstyle.

"By the way, weren’t you saying you were going to enter some kind of seclusion training soon? What’s that about?"

Lia was confused about this matter, as she still thought that Rio was going to go around the world to help in healing miasmic corruption; she had no idea that Rio had entirely different plans.

"Oh, about that... I forgot to tell you, I am about to break through and need some time to focus on myself to polish my mind and spirit..."

"Come to think of it, I would like to borrow a secluded basement in the Silver Mansion for my seclusion training. Can you ask your father to lend me one?"

’Man, I really need to buy my own house soon. How long am I going to keep relying on my father-in-law’s home to pass time, ugh?...’

’I have to find a good home for myself and Lia to build our future lives together...’

While Rio was busy thinking about random things in his mind, Lia, on the other hand, was shocked speechless.

"B-breakthrough!? Are you about to become a ’demigod’ so soon!? Didn’t you just advance to Rank S only about one and a half years ago!?"
