Lia uncovered the bizarre circumstances of Astra's death upon inheriting her legacy. Astra sacrificed her soul, body, existence, and Threads of Destiny to forge the one-time-use Sword of Promised Destinies, Pratigya, severing her anchors to reality and bewildering the world's laws. This obscurity left her fate known only to SS-rank healers like Selain and Aria, and those favored by Laws of Protection and Cure or Cosmic Order, while others believe her missing. Lia deems creating such an artifact a perilous trap to avoid. Rio then guided her to the dungeon's final boss: a corrupted humanoid fairy radiating potent healing magic.

The fairy race stood as a highly diverse group, where elementals, fairies, and beings with various powers coexisted in harmony.

Yet, the one sub-race that truly shone above the rest was the ’Royal Fairies’, sovereigns over the vast ’Fairyland’!

Differing from typical fairies, Royal Fairies nearly matched humans in physical size.

This key factor led Lyria and Miria to confuse Lia for an authentic royal fairy, especially since Lia then sported fairy wings on her back and rivaled their stature!

Such scenarios made it simple to error her identity as a royal fairy; that explained why human forces and numerous demons also mistook her during Lia’s fights supporting the fairy side.

"So that’s what a true royal fairy looks like..."

Rio shook his head upon catching Lia’s remark.

"No no... look, it’s highly corrupted and even two of its wings have turned black from miasmic influence; it’s not clearly in its true form right now..."

"But yeah, you can say that royal fairies look like that..."

Lia had never delved into fairy lore, since they never showed up as dungeon monsters, and non-monsters held no appeal for her physiological studies.

Though no specialist himself, Rio recalled royal fairy appearances from history tomes.

"As far as I know, royal fairies differ greatly from regular ones; unlike those small peace-loving types, these larger ones excel in true battle..."

"There is a reason why royal fairies rule ’Fairyland’; it’s because they rank as the mightiest of their kind!"

"In raw talent, every royal fairy rivals an adult dragon! Born as S-rankers already!"

Narrowing his gaze at the fairy perched amid the vast wasteland strewn with countless demon and human corpses, Rio continued,

"From the soul fluctuations of this one... it seems she’s a peak S-ranker... she’s likely stronger than that fellow Rahn you fought earlier..."

"But it seems that miasmic corruption has affected her severely and has made her more powerful but unstable at the same time... it would be better to stay cautious when fighting her..."

To Rio, this foe posed little danger, given his peak S-rank status, merely a single step from SS.

Any secret ace the enemy held would prove futile against him.

Yet, this clash belonged solely to Lia as her trial and challenge; Rio could only intervene if absolutely vital.

"Thanks for the information. I will be back after I win; watch me perform!"

Grinning joyfully, Lia expressed gratitude to Rio and dove toward the ground without pause.

As Lia touched down before the corrupted fairy, the latter gradually unveiled her stunning silver eyes.

One eye rotted from miasmic decay, yet the remaining pristine one could captivate any beholder with its silvery gleam.

"Thou art a human, it seemeth. Not corrupted by rot in this disgraced land? Thou art blessed by great Luck..."

The royal fairy’s voice rang feminine yet commanding; evidently, she had occupied lofty stations her whole existence.

Her speech brimmed with regal pride, while her resolute tone revealed a seasoned warrior’s resolve.

"Art thou here to challenge mine rule too? Or art thou accepting mine invitation for duel?"

In response to the query, Lia gripped the hilt of her waist-sheathed sword and proclaimed boldly,

"I am Lia Silver; I am here at your invitation to challenge you for a duel."

A relieved expression crossed the corrupted fairy’s features at Lia’s words.

"I see; I thank thee for accepting mine invitation. I have waited for a long while for mine salvation..."

Those words enlightened Lia to the fairy’s vigil here, aura broadcasted far and wide to summon duelists.

Half fairy, half demon from corruption, she likely detected the nearby nature temple assault but held back, fearing her inner miasma would harm fairies more than aid them.

Detecting aid for the temple and fairies, she beckoned their savior for a duel, seeking her own release from miasmic blight via honorable combat to the death.

Refusing to perish from the miasmic decay like a mere victim, she, a proud warrior, sought her end in fierce combat. Summoning mighty fighters such as Lia and Rio was her deliberate path to that honorable fate.

"I am Ivy Constantine, one of the last few surviving Royal Fairies and a sworn protector of fairyland..."

"I thank thee for coming here to bring salvation to mine ruined self... but as a warrior, I would prefer to die in battle..."

"Thus I accept thine challenge, Lia Silver.... Come, put an end to this wretched life of mine with thine strength!"

Uttering these words with grave solemnity, Ivy rose gradually from the dirt, seizing the half-shattered spear that lay nearby on the ground.

Right then, as Ivy assumed her fighting pose, the air thickened like stone, unleashing a formidable pressure that expanded outward everywhere.

At this sight, a surge of thrill stirred within Lia; she unsheathed her sword and declared.

"Here I come!"
