Bela explains the threads of fate upholding world order against the catastrophic Sea of Endless Miasma, a corrupting force embodying destruction. King Allen and Astra waged a thousand-year war to weaken demons and deploy the Sword of Promised Destinies, a mythical artifact channeling Power of Origin into a wish to restore balance. She discloses the sword's creation requires heavenly and worldly support plus an Ascended Soul sacrifice, which she provided at the cost of her life, leaving Lia shocked and baffled.

Lia was stunned by Bela's words.

"Y-you're insane... You really agreed to give up your life for that?... Even if the sea of miasma had been truly vanquished, your sacrifice might still deserve some praise..."

"But the sea of miasma obviously persists... Doesn't that prove King Allen failed to eradicate the sea of miasma and restore the world's 'balance'!?"

"Doesn't that render your sacrifice utterly pointless!? And now you're asking me to follow your example!? Are you mad!?"

In a burst of fury, Lia nearly shouted curses as she learned the real requirements for forging the mythical artifact and the actual events surrounding Bela's demise.

Contrary to what most believe, Bela hadn't perished or vanished alongside King Allen; she had voluntarily offered her life to become the 'key' that could permanently resolve the world's instability!

Only SS-rank healers like Selain and Aria, deeply tied to the 'law' of 'healing' akin to Astra, truly understand her fate.

"You're correct... My sacrifice proved worthless..."

Bela gazed sadly at the far-off horizon as she replied,

"I gave up my life, will, soul, and entire being to forge that 'possibility,' that 'key' capable of transforming the world for the better... but... sigh..."

"I suppose things don't always unfold as we expect in this world..."

No one knows King Allen's ultimate fate after he claimed the sword of promised destinies and ascended to 'true god' status.

His grandest ambition was to halt the relentless expansion of the sea of miasma's terror.

Yet since the Sea of Miasma endures unscathed, as all know, it's clear something disastrous occurred.

"The version of me that forged the weapon stayed aware within that sword for just a few moments... I have no knowledge of what followed..."

"Without venturing to the deepest heart of the 'Sea of Miasma' and emerging alive, no one can uncover what went awry..."

"Sadly for us... no entity in the universe has ever escaped the sea of miasma... Not even King Allen returned after plunging in... much less anyone else..."

Lia quelled her rage upon hearing Bela's sorrowful tone and inquired calmly,

"If you realize wielding the 'sword of promised destinies' leads nowhere, if you accept King Allen's failure, then why force this doomed legacy upon me!?"

"Why urge me to become a sacrifice and craft this artifact!?"

Bela offered Lia a faint smile in response, though it carried no warmth—only layers of regret and grief concealed within.

"Because of 'Hope,' Lia... I simply... I simply refuse to let the world lose all 'Hope,' Lia..."

"The 'Sword of Promised Destinies' stands as the sole force I know that might deliver 'Hope' to this crumbling world... Should it fail... nothing else comes to mind that could avert its doom..."

"I don't wish you to sacrifice yourself, Lia... I... I'm passing this knowledge... fully aware it might not succeed... because I have no alternative!"

With profound sorrow and torment in her gaze, Bela met Lia's eyes and continued in a quivering voice.

"I-I know no other path to aid you and the world... I-I offered myself up... convinced that no future soul... no one else would need to sacrifice... like I did..."

"During the thousand-year war, millions of innocents perished before my eyes, Lia! Children starved, parents mourned their lost young..."

"Catastrophic disasters unfolded, ceaseless wars blazed, entire civilizations and races crumbled to ruin!"

"Genocide and slaughter without end! Endless corruption and miasmic decay, Lia!"

Reliving those bleak days of despair, Bela teetered on the edge of tears.

"As one whose 'path' and dream aimed to better the world, I failed utterly, Lia!... Utterly failed!"

Tears streamed down Bela's cheeks as she confessed,

"Legends exalt me, nations cherish my name, civilizations instill in their youth that I was extraordinary..."

"But reality diverges sharply, Lia! I'm merely a broken woman who forfeited everything for a brighter tomorrow—and even that I couldn't achieve!"

"I'm no legendary healer, Lia! Just a shattered remnant of a dreamer who reached beyond her grasp!"

With those words, Bela crumpled to the ground, knees hitting the earth, her tear-filled eyes locked on Lia in utter sorrow and desperation.

"I desired my sacrifice to be the final one! Through that ultimate sacrifice, I hoped the future generations would live far removed from war and devastation..."

"I desired the future generations to dwell far from the ominous peril of the miasmic sea! Yet it all crumbled! I-I failed to shield the pure children of tomorrow too!"

"The sea of miasma has ravaged and annihilated relentlessly for a thousand years, even following my sacrifice!"

Astra was worshiped as the goddess of protection and healing, yet inwardly, she remained merely a shattered and vanquished woman devoid of hope for what lay ahead.

And the most heartbreaking truth was that Bela stood powerless to alter any of it!

"Lia... as I-I formed this memory of mine, I thought the moment it would convey its secrets might never arrive, since King Allen would surely prevail in the end..."

"But to my shock... I had been overly arrogant..."

"This memory of mine holds the inheritance for forging the ’Sword of Promised Destinies’... but now... even I question its usefulness..."

Astra’s millennium-long battles, her whole life’s devotion, and her last sacrifice were all aimed at ensuring a serene future for the cherished young of generations to come.

It sought to forge a world of peace where blameless children would no longer perish in futile wars, but the sea of miasma turned it all into despair and futility.

That was the pitiful fate of history’s mightiest healer; even death denied her true peace.

Folks everywhere regard her as a deliverer; they believe she banished the demons’ menace from the world, yet reality shatters that illusory hope.

The world remains ensnared by miasma’s horror, now teetering even nearer to doom than ever before! All due to Astra and King Allen’s failure in their fated task.
