Lia analyzed the S-rank bird monster's weakened state, attributing its decay to miasmic corruption from devouring demons. She unleashed a devastating Particle Beam of divine spirit magic, vaporizing half of its body and carving a massive valley into the landscape, though she noted her control had improved. Despite appearing dead, the monster revived, its organs spilling out as it attacked with bone projectiles; Lia dodged and countered with repeated beams, obliterating the area in a gigantic crater.

[That feels like total overkill...]

"Against monsters or beasts where info is scarce, it's smarter to wipe them out with overwhelming power before trouble starts..."

Lia's combat style stayed straightforward: strike at an opponent's flaw for peak effectiveness, yet without knowing the flaw, ditch efficiency and mana conservation—simply blast away at everything around!

"You're incredible! Hehe!"

The tiny golem's wide eyes sparkled with awe as it gazed upon Lia's impressive feat.

A huge crater scarred the earth, its heart a profound hole carved by particle beams!

Intense heat and pressure from the lasers fused the sand into glittering crystals, while the monster's every atom broke down into raw energy and elemental essences!

With raw destructive force, Lia utterly annihilated that tainted beast from reality!

"It ranked as S-class, but felt so feeble..."

[Actually, battling Alverto boosted your strength... plus, remember, miasma-tainted foes suffer penalties against you...]

Lia possessed a innate skill named ’Conqueror of Darkness,’ granting supreme resistance to miasma and corruption, plus any demon or tainted entity battling her endured severe handicaps.

As a tainted avian beast, it faced heavy penalties, and since Divine Spirit Magic excels against miasmic taint, Lia held a huge edge in clashes with such corrupted monsters.

"Overkill indeed... I wrecked its remains; can't inspect the body's makeup or spot those odd alterations now..."

Despite losing half its form to explosion, the beast clung to life, manipulating its guts freely to keep them contained and unharmed.

Such an odd monster that wouldn't perish from devastating injury—Lia had never witnessed, studied, or learned of anything like it.

"Pretty certain its aura and presence vanished after my initial strike... signaling instant death..."

"Yet it rose once more, aura surging back... truly strange... could it have become some sort of ’undead’ right upon dying..."

[Possible indeed... I thought it perished too, but then the aura returned... this scenario fits only undead transformation...]

[Normally, a corpse becoming undead requires ages and vast miasma buildup within or near the body...]

[Yet this shifted to undead swiftly... maybe due to the heavy miasmic taint already saturating it from the start?]

"Could be... with sufficient miasmic corruption inside, a being might revive as undead post-death if conditions align..."

"Still, this rarely occurs... undead demons are scarce outside..."

"Demons, being miasma-born, would spawn hordes of undead if such shifts were routine..."

Lia gazed into the profound vacant hole and shook her head sorrowfully.

"Too bad I obliterated its form... else I could uncover the trigger for its mutation into that bizarre undead state..."

With a head shake, Lia slid her sword into its sheath and chose to soar further inward seeking hints.

In flight, Lia spotted a narrow brook and opted to trace it upward.

Monster lairs cluster most around waterways, so Lia picked this path to uncover leads on this enormous dungeon's ultimate boss spot.

Surveying the expansive woods and rugged hills extending to the distant skyline, Lia sighed in resignation.

"This dungeon's insanely vast... like stepping into a whole continent. Endless greenery, normal wildlife, and assorted minor monsters abound..."

"Finding Father in this enormous area without hints or tracks seems impossible..."

[Regarding that brawny dimwit, I figured separation might happen in the dungeon, so I placed a divine spirit tag on him prior to entry...]

[However, strangely, I can't detect that tag anymore... clueless on his whereabouts...]

[Maybe interference blocks the link...]

"You mean disruption... likely from him landing in a spot thick with ambient miasma..."

"Given the dungeon's scale, zones like that wouldn't shock me..."

"Never mind... let's capture a monster for questioning to learn more on this dungeon's layout..."

As Lia chatted with Kai while skimming low along the stream, her spirit sense picked up a distinct miasma surge, and a cry pierced the air from the thick nearby woods!

"Help!! Help!! Get back, demon!! Release Miria!!"

"Release Miria!"

At the desperate call, Lia invoked ultimate concealment anew, then veered her flight path directly to the origin of the yells and distress cries.

[Demon involved... miasma blocks clarity, so unsure if aid pleas are real—I can't detect anyone else beyond the demon...]

"Trap or not, I need a smart being for dungeon intel... a demon works fine..."

"Simply seize it and flood purifying divine spirit magic into its form to extract all its knowledge..."

[Uh... phrasing like that paints you as a deranged antagonist...]

Upon hearing that, Lia arched her brows and shot back with a grin,

"Only now realizing I've been a deranged villainess from the start?"
