Reborn as an Extra Chapter 608: S-rank Dungeon, A Forgotten Nation. Part-3.

Previously on Reborn as an Extra...
James led Lia to the hidden basement of the Silver Shadow guild, unveiling a massive teleportation portal altar maintained by hundreds of mages, which fascinated her. Lia grew embarrassed upon discovering childhood photos of herself adorning the walls, captured by her doting father, who smugly suggested bequeathing the guild to her future husband Rio. As they prepared for the training mission, Lia internally consulted her spirit Kai about the distant S-rank dungeon, resolving to match her peers' progress despite her apprehensions. A small golem named RJ, fond of Lia, followed them to the guild and insisted on joining the journey for protection.

[Why call it that if you're too shy now to share it with anyone?]

[Worried folks might assume you're seeing it as yours and that emotionless fellow's child? Rio Junior... For real?]

[Your sense of names is truly terrible, isn't it...]

’Ugh... j-just shut up already...’

Brushing off Kai’s remarks, Lia set the small golem onto her left shoulder, as the plump cat Kai stayed put solidly on her right one.

Noticing how Lia bore her two partners that way, James glanced at his butler and gave a nod.

"My daughter is the cutest in this world, right? By the way, did you bring what I asked you to?"

Overlooking James’s initial query, the butler pulled a golden cape from his space ring.

"Here, it’s been made exactly the way you asked for..."

James grinned and accepted the cape, then spread it open.

Silver sword patterns adorned the golden cape, along with a huge silver lion etched upon it, and the bold word ’Silver’ inscribed prominently!

This cloth stood out as both refined and commanding, infused with numerous potent magical spells!

"That kid Rio... he got ahead and gave you a birthday gift in advance, but your father is not going to be left behind like this!"

"Here, I had it specially made for you! Try it on!"

Beyond mere ornamentation, the cape served as a mighty relic capable of shielding in perilous moments!

Lia’s eyes sparkled vividly when she grasped the cape and sensed its smooth, velvety feel.

[Hoh, whoever designed is worthy of praise; they have perfectly captured my majestic appearance in this piece of art... I am impressed.]

Kai too recognized the cape’s impressiveness, prompting Lia to drape it over her shoulder right away, bringing a grin to her lips.

Observing James lingering there, his expression pleading for her reaction, Lia offered a gentle smile and replied.

"Thanks, Dad~"

Upon catching that endearing ’Dad’ from Lia’s lips, James collapsed to the floor in an overly theatrical fashion.

"Ugh... call the medic... I was hit straight in the heart!"

Lia gave an eye roll at her dad’s over-the-top antics and advanced toward the heart of the teleportation portal activation altar.

"Hmph! Stop wasting time; we need to get going! I am eager to practice my sword skills!"

Those words left James with little option but to cease delaying; he commanded the workers to prepare the portal for their journey.

The team finished the upkeep tasks quickly, causing the altar to shine intensely with packed mana’s light, while wild spatial ripples whirled around the zone.

Within mere seconds, a huge teleportation gateway formed and got steadied by advanced tech and enchanted items!

"Let’s go!"

James forged ahead, and Lia followed into the portal, her features beaming with thrill.

As she entered, her fingers brushed the locket at her neck, her mind whispering,

’I will be back soon... and this time, I will become capable of standing side by side with you...’

Right as Lia emerged from the teleportation portal, an intense heat blast struck her face, accompanied by the distinct rumble of simmering lava in her ears.

She stood amid a subterranean cavern where lava streams coursed every which way.

Lava bubbles burst with sharp, cracking noises like shattering glass, and thick sulfur odor filled the atmosphere.

Crushing gravity pressed down on Lia’s frame, with relentless heat surges assaulting her nonstop.

"This is...."

The sight puzzled Lia briefly, yet James dispelled her confusion with his steady tone as always.

"The dungeon we are heading towards is located deep underground... right now we are thousands of kilometres deep inside earth..."

"Use the power of the cape that I gifted you... it can help you regulate temperature around you... don’t waste too much mana here though, save as much as possible for the actual dungeon..."

While James attempted to detail the circumstances to Lia, a gigantic eel-shaped beast leaped from a lava stream directly at them.

Hard, stone-resembling scales sheathed its whole form, and it spewed fluids that ignited wildly upon touching the air!

James seized the enormous broadsword from his back and whipped it forward at blazing velocity using one hand, as though it weighed nothing, smacking the huge eel flat with the blade!

Like smashing a home run using a baseball bat, the eel flew far off, its body exploding from the sword’s forceful blow.

Without employing any technique, James dispatched an A-rank monster purely through raw power!

He simply showcased his bulky, sculpted muscles as if competing in a top-tier bodybuilding event, effortlessly demolishing the beast.

[I had my doubts but... isn’t your father quite a barbaric brute? He’s swinging that sword around like it a hammer or something...]

[Aren’t swords supposed to be used for cutting things specifically?...]

’Err... I don’t know but he’s always been using that massive broadsword for battle...’

Disregarding the shocked expressions of Kai and Lia, James sheathed his sword anew before declaring,

"Don’t mind it; these little eel-like creatures are the local residents of this place. although they aren’t strong, they are annoying like flies; you swat one away and two more will come to pester you later..."

"Let’s get moving or we will have to sit down and swat an entire nest of these annoying flies here before they would let us off the hook for killing one of their comrades..."

Having spoken, James pressed on into the deeper parts of the underground cavern network, Lia trailing closely after him.
