Luo Yanqing explains to Kang Li how he agreed to his ex-wife's demand for a fake death and disappearance in exchange for her signing an agreement to never contact their children. Despite the agreement, she recently contacted him demanding to have their sons, which he refused. Kang Li expresses hurt that Luo Yanqing and Luo Mingrui hid this from her, questioning his plan now that their daughter Vivi is with her biological mother.

Luo Yanqing admitted, "I recognize I'm not the most attentive father. My professional duties consume much of my time, but you, my dear, are an excellent mother. I truly acknowledge all that you've devoted to Luo Mingrui and the others over these years. I believe Luo Mingrui and the rest are aware of this in their hearts. Initially, I was confident that with your unwavering dedication to them as siblings, no matter what their birth mother might say, they would unquestionably stand with us. However, I then received a call at my office from my mother, informing me that Luo Mingwei remained defiant, insisting on living with her birth mother. Since her heart is clearly no longer with this family, why should we concern ourselves with her issues anymore?"

Kang Li countered, "Have you ever considered that Vivi might have been coerced into living with her birth mother?"

Luo Yanqing was taken aback. "..." Coerced? He couldn't help but ponder the possibility, yet he found it difficult to believe Feng Lu would divulge such a sensitive secret in front of a child who was barely a teenager. Nevertheless, beyond this conjecture, Luo Yanqing possessed no other viable leads.

"What are you contemplating?"

Observing the shift in Luo Yanqing's expression, Kang Li inquired.

"I'm considering the scenario you just presented, the possibility of coercion."

Luo Yanqing's tone remained remarkably neutral, revealing nothing of his inner turmoil. If Luo Mingwei were indeed privy to that secret, why would she express a desire to live with her birth mother? Could it be... out of concern for her lineage? Furrowing his brow, Luo Yanqing found himself perplexed. He mused, if Luo Mingwei truly understood her origins, did her twin brother, Luo Minghan, share this knowledge?

"Very well, if we cannot ascertain the truth, then so be it. I will not permit Vivi to reside permanently with her birth mother. Furthermore, I have already spoken with her birth mother; should she attempt to harm Vivi in any way, I will not hold back."

Kang Li stated, moving towards the study door. "I shall proceed to register Ruirui and Hanhan, then head to Shuimu University to finalize the employment procedures and enroll Bun and the others in the affiliated kindergarten there. Will you be staying home to rest, or..."

Luo Yanqing promptly responded, "Together." After a brief pause, he added, "I will be teaching a course at Shuimu University once a week from now on."

"Isn't that rather taxing?"

Kang Li's tone conveyed her concern.

"The nation requires skilled individuals, and I am merely dedicating half a day each week to teaching; it is hardly a significant undertaking." As they exited the study, Luo Yanqing overheard Kang Li ask, "How many days of leave do you have this time around?"

"Half a month," Luo Yanqing replied, subsequently clarifying, "However, after this extended break concludes, we shall see each other once a week, and I will revert to my usual vacation schedule."

Kang Li confirmed, "Two days off per month?"

Luo Yanqing affirmed with a simple sound.

...

At the main gate.

"Dad, Mom, you must return soon. Tangyuan will miss you terribly!"

Observing Luo Yanqing settling into the driver's seat and Kang Li occupying the passenger seat, Mingrui and Minghan opened the rear doors and climbed in. Xiao Tangyuan, alongside her brother Bun and sister Guoguo, waved her small hands, her large eyes filled with a yearning to join them.

"Understood."

Kang Li offered a smile through the partially opened car window, waving towards Captain Kang and Cai Xiufen. "Dad, Mom, it's quite chilly outside; please take Bun and the others inside quickly. We will return once we have completed our errands."

The car began to move, slowly pulling away from the two elders and the three little ones.

"Mom, is this car ours?"

Minghan expressed his fondness for the black vehicle, noting not only its imposing exterior but also its spacious and remarkably comfortable interior.

"Yes, it belongs to us. I acquired it for our convenience. From this point forward, traveling will be significantly easier with a car," Kang Li explained with a smile. "Eventually, I will also procure a car for your travels." This remark was clearly directed at Luo Yanqing.

"There's no need,"

Luo Yanqing lightly shook his head. "My office provides me with a vehicle." He was accustomed to being driven and saw no necessity in her spending funds on an underutilized car.

Kang Li did not offer a direct response. Instead, she turned her attention to Mingrui and Minghan. "Once you both graduate from college and commence your careers, I shall arrange for a car for each of you to use for travel."

Mingrui demurred, "Public transportation and cycling are quite efficient, thank you."

Minghan's eyes gleamed. "Big Brother doesn't want one, but I do! Mom, you must promise not to be stingy with the children!"

Kang Li chuckled, gently shaking her head. Her gaze softened as she addressed Bun, "Alright, Mom won't call your big brother childish." Upon hearing this, Bun shifted his attention to Luo Yanqing, his small face adopting a decidedly serious expression. "Dad, what about you?"

"I shall follow your lead."

Luo Yanqing held genuine affection for his three younger children. He nodded solemnly, "Dad, much like your Mom, will not refer to your elder brother as childish."
