Feng Lu reveals she faked her death to escape her ex-husband and Han Bin learns that their daughter, Vivi, is living with them. This revelation causes tension as Han Qian dislikes Vivi, and Han Bin is concerned about the two girls getting along. Han Bin also questions Feng Lu about the twins she had with him, who were raised by her ex-husband, and Feng Lu admits she wants them back but their father won't agree.

"Qianqian!" Han Cheng's expression shifted slightly. "You are thirteen now, not a toddler who doesn't understand things. The fact that I can sit here and talk to you face-to-face shows I respect you. However, you cannot throw a tantrum simply because of this, do you understand?"

Han Qian cried out loudly, "I don't understand, and I don't want to understand! All I know is this is my and Dad's home, and I dislike outsiders moving in!"

Standing up, Han Bin clearly lost his patience. He stated, "I have already promised Aunt Feng; she will bring her daughter to our home this afternoon."

"I hate you!"

Han Qian shot a fierce glare at her father, Han Bin, then immediately got up and dashed towards the second floor.

At the staircase on the second floor, she chanced upon Feng Lu. Han Qian hastily wiped her tears and declared to Feng Lu, "I will never let you become my Stepmother! Furthermore, you are a wicked woman, utterly shameless, and your child is just the same!"

Feng Lu's expression flickered through various changes, but by then, Han Qian had already bolted into her room, leaving Feng Lu no opportunity to respond.

"Qianqian is still young; please don't take her words to heart."

Observing Feng Lu descending from the upper floor, Han Bin retrieved the gray woolen coat draped over the sofa. While putting it on, he remarked, "I'm heading to the company. Around two in the afternoon, I will arrange for a driver to take you to pick up Ming Wei's child."

"Can't you go with me?"

Assisting Han Bin with his tie, Feng Lu's eyes held a subtle hint of resentment. "Vivi is our daughter. We, as her parents, owe her far too much. I..."

Giving Feng Lu an embrace, Han Bin reassured her, "Don't worry. When the child arrives home, I will certainly make it up to her."

"You gave your word. If I witness Vivi being mistreated in this home, don't blame me for ending things with you," Feng Lu murmured, nestled in Han Bin's embrace. She then stood on her tiptoes, bestowing a light kiss upon the man's cheek.

Han Bin's lips curved into a slight smile. "Alright, I must be going to work, or I shall be late."

"I'll see you off."

Linking her arm through Han Bin's, Feng Lu prepared to walk out of the living room.

"No need. It's chilly outside; I wouldn't want my woman to freeze."

After planting a kiss on Feng Lu's forehead, Han Bin stepped out of the living room. However, Feng Lu trailed him outside. She remained at the living room's entrance, watching as Han Bin entered his car and the vehicle slowly departed from the villa gate. Then, withdrawing her gaze, she turned back into the living room.

"I know you dislike me and are attempting to find ways to drive me out of this house, but I will never let you succeed. Father is mine; no one can take him away."

Having observed Han Bin's departure from the villa via her bedroom window upstairs, Han Qian descended to the living room with a frosty expression. She took a seat on the sofa, uttering these words towards Feng Lu, before reaching for the landline to call her doting grandparents.

Moments later, the call was answered. As soon as Han Qian heard Mother Han's voice emanating from the receiver, she opened her mouth and began to wail loudly, lodging her complaints between sobs.

Feng Lu observed the scene coldly from her position.

"My Grandma wants you to answer the phone!" Holding the receiver, Han Qian's eyes were now devoid of tears. She faced Feng Lu, leveling a triumphant gaze at the woman who aspired to be her Stepmother.

Unexpectedly, Feng Lu's expression remained serene. She took the receiver from Han Qian's hand and, in the next instant, began to sob into the phone.

Her tone conveyed profound grievance, her words were exceedingly humble—she truly performed with utmost perfection.

Han Qian stood dumbfounded. She was aware Feng Lu possessed acting capabilities, but she hadn't anticipated such flawless execution. In essence, in terms of acting prowess, she was completely outmatched by this wicked woman aiming to be her Stepmother.

"...Aunt, that is the situation. If you wish for further details, you may contact Han Bin..." Feng Lu positioned herself as the wronged party, playing the role of the pleasing stepdaughter, willing to endure any hardship without complaint. Her words conveyed a singular message to Mother Han's ears: because I love your son so dearly, I am willing to bear any grievance without regret.

Mother Han was well aware of her granddaughter Han Qian's temperament. Consequently, after hearing Feng Lu's words, she found herself swayed, momentarily questioning if Han Qian had deliberately caused trouble for Feng Lu. Yet, she also worried that Feng Lu might complain to her son. Thus, she preemptively called her grandmother for support, ensuring she wouldn't face reprimand from her son later.

Truth be told, Mother Han harbored no fondness for Feng Lu. However, she couldn't intervene, as children grow and parents lose control. Ever since Han Bin brought Feng Lu to reside in the small Western-style house he purchased on the outskirts, even if she wished to manage the situation, while not entirely impossible, she preferred to avoid alienating her son over a woman.
