Capítulo 1312: Chapter 1210: Part 2
For the next three days, Bun and the other two youngsters were placed under the care of Cai Xiufen, Captain Kang, and Jiang Hongfa. Meanwhile, Kang Li, accompanied by Luo Yanqing, embarked on a series of shopping excursions to various malls.
Each return from these shopping trips saw her laden with large bags and boxes. After all, Kang Li was far from lacking in funds, especially with her doting father and grandfather generously providing her with ample financial support.
There was absolutely no concern regarding monetary constraints.
Once all the presents were procured, Kang Li meticulously sorted and arranged them. She then affixed post-it notes to each package, indicating the intended recipient. Everyone she held dear in her heart would be presented with gifts brought back by Luo Yanqing, Captain Kang, and Cai Xiufen.
As the days dwindled, with only three days remaining until Luo Yanqing and Captain Kang were to depart for home, Kang Li began to feel a tinge of melancholy.
“Are you reluctant for me to return home?”
The moonlight poured in generously through the soft, elegant floor-length curtains into the bedroom, its light flowing gently like water, imbuing the space with a poetic charm.
Following an intimate moment of affection, Luo Yanqing escorted Kang Li to the bathroom to freshen up. Once they were back in bed, Luo Yanqing sensed a subtle shift in Kang Li’s mood and couldn't help but inquire.
“You are about to leave, and so are Mom and Dad. I’m feeling a little down.”
Nestled within the man’s firm embrace, Kang Li’s voice was slightly muffled as she confessed, “Time passes far too quickly.”
“Indeed, time flies. But you have your studies to attend to, and I have my work. Hence, a temporary parting is necessary. There’s no substantial reason for Mom and Dad to prolong their stay here. In due course, the relevant authorities will arrange their direct return to our country… Do not fret. Once you complete your studies and we are back home, our family will be reunited forever.”
Gently stroking his wife’s back, Luo Yanqing’s eyes glistened with unwavering tenderness. “Should you find yourself missing Mom and Dad, you can always call them or write letters frequently.”
Kang Li’s spirits lifted slightly as she gazed up at him, a mischievous sparkle in her eyes. “And what about when I miss you?”
“You can call or write letters.”
Resting his elegantly shaped chin lightly upon the forehead of the young woman in his arms, a smile played on Luo Yanqing’s lips. “We’ve captured quite a few photos recently. If you miss me, you can simply look at my pictures more often. I shall do the same, gazing at your photographs morning and evening, to make each day pass more swiftly and to assuage the longing.”
“You are such a smooth talker.”
Kang Li playfully chided him, then added, “Take more pictures of me and the little ones to bring back. When you send letters, be sure to include some photos of Ruirui and the others. This way, when I have free time, I can teach Bun, Tangyuan, and Guoguo to recognize their elder brothers and sisters through the photographs.”
“Very well.”
Luo Yanqing readily agreed.
“Before the summer vacation commences, remember to arrange for Ruirui’s overseas procedures. This way, when Mr. Jiang departs to attend to his business matters, I will have him escort the children.”
“Will Xiao En be joining them as well?”
“If Uncle Loh and Aunt Li feel at ease with it, then by all means, bring Xiao En along.”
“Certainly, I shall proceed as you wish.”
“Once traveling abroad becomes more accessible in the future, I shall personally escort all my nephews abroad for a grand excursion.”
“They might not even require their little aunt to escort them.”
“I understand your implication perfectly. Is it not that they will have achieved success and will be able to travel or study abroad independently?”
“Do you not desire your nephews to achieve success?”
“Your words are rather heartless! I wish for my nephews’ success more than anyone else, ensuring that Old Kang’s Home will undoubtedly prosper in the future!”
Kang Li declared with spirited enthusiasm, casting a proud glance at the man.
Luo Yanqing chuckled. “In my estimation, Old Kang’s Home is already on the rise.”
“Not quite yet.”
Kang Li replied with characteristic humility.
“How can you possibly say that? Did you not get into college along with the others that year? Nowadays, Old Kang’s Home boasts seven college students, with all four hailing from the eldest brother’s household. This year, the eldest child from the third brother’s family is set to take the college entrance examinations, a sure path to university admission. In the following years, more college students from Old Kang’s Home will emerge one after another. This is cause for celebration, not only in the countryside but also in the city. Not to mention that our nephews are gaining entry into college at such tender ages, a testament to their immense potential. Who, then, can truthfully claim this rural family has not yet ascended?”
“You are exaggerating just a tad!”
Despite her outwardly modest response, Kang Li’s eyes shone with evident pride and joy. She had truly never anticipated her nephews would exhibit such academic ambition, engaging in a friendly rivalry, dedicating themselves to their studies without the need for constant reminders, and proactively planning their educational pursuits.
