Jiang Jiwu and his son Jiang Shihua suggest pursuing marriage between the Jiang and Lu families again, proposing it might help their businesses and citing the children Yun Qing and Yun Cun's desire to remain close. Old Master Jiang is angered by this suggestion after Lu Shuangshuang's deceptions, forbidding any private dealings with the Lu family and demanding all related business decisions be reported to him.

Jiang Shiheng also rose from his seat. Reaching the main door, he paused and declared with effortless calm, "Oh, and to everyone here, please don't trouble yourselves about my marriage. As for children, I already have Little as my daughter, and that is more than enough for me."

With his statement, he departed, leaving behind the echoing clamor within the hall.

Back in his own courtyard, Old Master Jiang could no longer contain his frustration, striking the table with a resounding slap.

"You ungrateful wretches!"

He had never been unkind to them, so how could he have raised such selfish, ungrateful, and spineless individuals?

Did each of them truly believe that severing ties with the Lu Family would bring about catastrophic consequences?

"Grandfather, why exert yourself with such anger? It's truly not worth making yourself ill over," Jiang Shiheng entered, poured a glass of water, and offered it to the old man.

Old Master Jiang sipped the water, exhaling a long, heavy sigh.

"Xiao Liu, I genuinely find Little to be exceptionally admirable now; she truly suits my preferences. While I don't endorse her excessive violence, hearing about Lu Shuangshuang's actions against you, and then witnessing how readily she confronted Lu Shuangshuang without a second thought for business or money – that is what I call true mettle."

The old man remained unaware that Jiang Xiao had also paid a visit to the foreign-funded hospital that very night, intending to impart a lesson to Old Master Lu. Had he known, his delight would have been even greater.

"That girl Little certainly possesses a swiftness in both vengeance and retribution, but Grandpa, she is undeniably violent."

Despite his words, even as he described Jiang Xiao as violent, Sixth Young Master Jiang's eyes and expression were alight with a clear smile.

If Lu Shuangshuang had not been a woman, she would likely have been severely injured by now.

Jiang Xiao would certainly have shown her no mercy.

"It's quite alright. I trust that child knows where to draw the line."

A smile also graced Old Master Jiang's features.

Contemplating that their family branch still possessed a Jiang Xiao, his spirits lifted considerably.

What did it matter if she was a girl?

Compared to individuals like Jiang Shihua and Yun Cun, he felt Jiang Xiao was vastly superior.

"Sixth Young Master," Yue Yang's voice called from outside, seeking further instructions.

Jiang Shiheng stood, saying, "Grandpa, I shall go and see what news Yue Yang has brought. Please rest well."

"Very well, proceed."

As the first rays of dawn painted the sky, Jiang Xiao had already embarked on her journey, accompanied by Guan Tiezhu and Luo Yongsheng.

Their destination was a place known as Linchang Town.

The route to Linchang Town involved traversing a section of winding mountain road.

Old Zhang had initially warned that this road was extremely difficult to navigate by vehicle. However, upon their arrival, they discovered it had undergone repairs. While still not a simple drive, it was no longer excessively challenging.

For Guan Tiezhu and Luo Yongsheng, at least, it presented no significant obstacle.

It did, however, consume a considerable amount of time, as they were compelled to drive with extreme caution, refraining from any semblance of speed.

Setting out at first light, it was already nearing two in the afternoon by the time they reached Linchang Town.

The roads during this period were indeed quite difficult to traverse.

Linchang Town turned out to be far smaller than they had anticipated. Following Old Zhang's directions, upon entering the town, they were to turn directly right onto a dirt path. This path led to Luofeng Institute; it was situated at the very end, with no other dwellings or residences nearby, making it straightforward to locate.

Consequently, they bypassed the need to inquire within the town or seek out anyone. Indeed, shortly after entering, they spotted a muddy track veering off to the right. Tall weeds, reaching about waist-high, lined both sides, constricting what should have been a reasonably wide road into a passage barely sufficient for their vehicle to pass.

Upon reaching this precise juncture, Jiang Xiao's emotions finally surged with palpable excitement.

She and Shi Xiaoching were now separated by merely this short stretch of road!
