Jiang Xiao visited Mrs. Jin, seeking information about Luofeng Institute. Mrs. Jin recognized the name, recalling a visit ten years prior to an institution then called Hongfeng Welfare Institute. She mentioned the institute was once a wealthy person's estate known as Luofeng Institute. Jiang Xiao showed Mrs. Jin a portrait of Shi Xiaoching, hoping she might have seen her during the visit.

After a considerable search, she shook her head. "I don't recall ever seeing this individual, but back then, we merely dropped off the supplies and departed without meeting everyone at the institute. Thus, I cannot say for certain if this person was present at the Hongfeng Welfare Institute."

So, that's how it is...

To claim Jiang Xiao wasn't disappointed would be untruthful.

However, at the very least, she wasn't entirely without hope.

"By the way, I might still have some photographs from that time, just two or three group shots, which might show what the Hongfeng Welfare Institute looked like. Would you like to see them?"

"Yes, please."

Jiang Xiao was certainly eager to glimpse the appearance of the Luofeng Institute.

Mrs. Jin sifted through old photo albums for an extended period before finally locating the pictures.

These old photographs, dating back a decade, possessed a historical aura and were entirely in black and white.

Ten years prior, Mrs. Jin was both beautiful and elegant, a trait clearly inherited by Jin Lei.

In one of her group photos with former colleagues, the backdrop was the Luofeng Institute.

It was an old, classical courtyard, already showing signs of age even a decade ago.

Within the courtyard's perimeter walls, towering maple trees were visible, seemingly the inspiration behind the institute's name, Luofeng.

"Does Mrs. Jin happen to recall the address of that place?"

"I don't remember it myself, but perhaps our old colleagues might. Shall I inquire for you?"

"Is there a possibility Director Jin knows the address?"

"Old Jin, he is familiar with the place, but he might only know its general vicinity. It would be best for me to ask our colleagues directly."

Jiang Xiao softly exhaled.

She had to remind herself to exercise patience; they had already come this far, and so many years had elapsed. What was a little more time?

Mrs. Jin, with her characteristic warmth, promptly contacted her former colleagues. She mentioned that most of the individuals who had accompanied her to the Hongfeng Welfare Institute back then had since transferred to different locations, necessitating an effort to ascertain their current whereabouts.

Numerous places still lacked telephone service, and eventually, she obtained the address of a former driver, although a personal visit would be required as there was no phone line.

At this juncture, Jiang Xiao intensely missed the era of mobile phones.

How incredibly convenient it was to locate someone without the need for physical travel.

"Old Zhang is currently at this address, still employed as a driver at the factory," Mrs. Jin stated, handing her a piece of paper with an address. "Shall I accompany you there tomorrow?"

"No, no, I simply need to inquire about the address of the Luofeng Institute. Mrs. Jin, you don't need to go with me; I can find Old Zhang myself."

"Alright then."

Upon departing the Jin residence, Jiang Xiao gazed at the sky, unable to suppress a sigh.

"What's troubling you?" Ding Haijing inquired, noticing her subdued expression.

"Old Ding, is it still feasible to reach this location now? Or has too much time passed?"

Ding Haijing accepted the slip of paper and glanced at it. "You've certainly chosen quite scattered locations across the city."

Indeed, Mrs. Jin had just mentioned that the area where Old Zhang had transferred to seemed rather distant from their current position.

If they were to travel there by car, it might already be past eleven o'clock at night.

When seeking someone to ask for an address, one couldn't simply arrive at such a late hour, could they?

"It will have to wait until tomorrow."

Back at home, Jiang Xiao retrieved the painting once more. She felt that anyone capable of such warm artistry must possess a heart of genuine beauty.

Why, then, had Shi Xiaoching uttered those words to Ah Liu back then?
