Chiang Xiao and Ding Haijing are confronted by a group of young men after leaving school. The men quickly reveal knives and surround them, making it clear they are not random thugs but were sent to target Chiang Xiao. Ding Haijing intervenes, and Chiang Xiao demands to know who sent them.

"They all claimed the brothers merely fancied your beauty and desired your company!"

"Boss, pay no mind to them; let's just deal with this brat and then we can take this stunning lady out for some fun."

"Move out!"

The youth, a cigarette dangling from his lips, gave the order, and the group surged forward towards Ding Haijing.

However, before they could even reach Ding Haijing, their target abruptly shifted. The knives in their hands were swiftly brandished towards Chiang Xiao.

Their focus, every single blade, was now aimed directly at Chiang Xiao!

Ding Haijing hadn't anticipated this was their true objective. His expression darkened as he threw a punch at a nearby attacker, but he immediately darted in front of Chiang Xiao.

"They're after you!" he declared in a low, urgent tone.

Chiang Xiao, already having delivered a kick to the youth directly in front of her, simultaneously sent another assailant flying aside with a punch. She deftly sidestepped Ding Haijing's movements, ensuring she didn't impede him.

"I'm aware!"

Chiang Xiao retorted, landing another kick squarely on a man's chest. To her surprise, even as he crumpled to the ground with a grimace, he made a desperate lunge to slash her calf with his knife.

Concurrently, an assailant behind her raised a knife, aiming a stab at her back.

These individuals moved with a relentless, almost desperate intent to harm her, their blades constantly slashing in her direction.

It was as if they were singularly determined to inflict injury upon her.

This singular focus sent an unsettling chill down Chiang Xiao's spine.

Yet, there was no moment for contemplation.

It was evident these attackers were no mere street thugs; their pugilistic skills were surprisingly refined, and their knife techniques were precise, not the chaotic thrashing of common brawlers, nor were they attempting to abduct Chiang Xiao.

The more the fight progressed, the clearer this became to Chiang Xiao.

Their sole objective was to hurt her!

Despite their competent skills, however, they were hopelessly outmatched by both her and Ding Haijing.

With a sharp metallic clash.

Chiang Xiao and Ding Haijing simultaneously disarmed two attackers, kicking their knives from their grasp. Ding Haijing then expertly flicked his foot, sending a blade spinning into his own hand.

Without a second's hesitation, he slashed at a youth who was once again advancing on Chiang Xiao.

Blood erupted, and the youth let out a piercing cry of agony.

A tear appeared on the assailant's shirt, revealing a bloody gash across his chest.

The scream served as a stark warning, causing the remaining attackers to hesitate.

Meanwhile, Chiang Xiao had already sliced across an attacker's wrist, snatching the weapon, and then swiftly carved a wound into the same wrist.

"Wielding knives now? By all means, continue." Gripping the small blade, she cast a frigid glance at the remaining group, a faint crimson stain visible on the steel.

"What are you doing?"

A demanding shout echoed from a distance.

"Scatter!"

The group of youths instantly broke formation and fled.

"Should we pursue?" Ding Haijing inquired.

Chiang Xiao responded with a shake of her head.

"No need. These individuals were likely just following orders; they probably don't possess any significant information."

Furthermore, she had a strong suspicion about who had orchestrated this attack.

Ding Haijing knitted his brows. "It felt like they were specifically trying to stab you."

Their intent was unmistakably clear, a feeling he had perceived quite vividly.

Chiang Xiao nodded, her gaze fixed on the bloodied blade, her mind deep in thought.

She recalled an earlier incident: Hu Xiangyong had visited the Academy with Liu Guoying. During their handshake, his ring had felt peculiar, drawing a small amount of blood. She had subsequently taken Liu Guoying to the hospital for a medical examination.

Fortunately, no ill effects had resulted from that encounter.
