"Jiang Ning, we are nearing the Tiger and Leopard Zone, please pick up the pace," instructed Xue Yuantong.
Chen Siyu mused, "The Antelope Area we just passed was an open expanse. Do you think the tigers roam freely as well?"
Jiang Ning responded, "If they did, what would you be?"
Chen Siyu, confused, replied, "I’m a person, a human, naturally!"
Jiang Ning stated, "No, you’d be a delicacy on the buffet spread."
Soon after, they reached the tiger enclosure.
A large number of students were gathered, all eager to observe the tigers, with many capturing moments on their phones.
Amidst the throng, Chen Qian began to explain.
"My goodness, these tigers are enormous!"
Xue Yuantong’s mouth was slightly agape; this was her inaugural encounter with tigers, and their sheer size was astounding, coupled with their striking beauty.
Chen Siyu expressed similar astonishment, "There are so many tigers, perhaps thirty or forty?"
Across a river lay a sprawling forest where tigers could be seen lounging, sleeping, prowling, and some even ventured from the trees to the riverbank for water, appearing in considerable numbers.
Chen Qian, recognized as the most well-informed student in Class 8, offered an explanation: "Yun City is known as China’s circus hub, and they breed numerous tigers locally. With a new zoo established, it’s only natural there would be many tigers."
"That’s an unbelievable amount!" they seemed to be practically right beside the path.
Clusters of tigers moved about, occasionally breaking into sprints, emitting spine-chilling roars, and even engaging in brief sparring matches.
"Truly magnificent!" Xue Yuantong exclaimed.
A separation river, not secured by glass but by a modest fence, marked the boundary between the tigers’ domain and the visitor’s pathway, offering an unobstructed view.
Chen Qian remarked, "Tigers embody the pinnacle of power and elegance, a sublime fusion of might and grace that resonates deeply with human aesthetic sensibilities."
"Indeed," Xue Yuantong agreed, pointing to a robust tiger. "Jiang Ning, who is the braver one, my dog Xiao Ben or that tiger?"
Jiang Ning: "?"
Chen Siyu interjected, "Did Xiao Ben do something to offend you?"
Chen Siyu added, "Just let it be; Xiao Ben is merely a dog!"
Despite Xiao Ben’s current prowess, when measured against a tiger, it could only be surmised that he would only momentarily deter the beast.
Chen Qian elaborated, "Tigers are crowned the kings of the wild. To put it simply, an average fierce dog would rarely triumph over a specially trained pit bull. And a pit bull facing a hyena—well, if we count the hyena as a dog, the hyena could effortlessly defeat a pit bull."
"As for the Siberian Tigers before us, vanquishing hyenas is not a challenge; even ten hyenas could be scattered with ease by a single tiger."
The students nearby expressed their surprise, "Wow, I just spotted a hyena, and it’s quite substantial!"
"What about Tibetan Mastiffs? Tibetan Mastiffs are regarded as the ultimate dogs; how do they fare against tigers?" a student inquired.
Chen Qian calmly replied, "Perhaps a Tibetan Mastiff would first survive an encounter under a hyena’s jaws."
The male student, a staunch advocate for Tibetan Mastiffs, was visibly displeased. "Even three wolves cannot conquer a Tibetan Mastiff; how could they possibly lose to a hyena?"
Chen Qian logically and precisely countered, "Tibetan Mastiffs typically weigh between fifty to sixty kilograms, while hyenas average ten kilograms more. Furthermore, a hyena’s bite force exceeds two hundred kilograms, whereas Tibetan Mastiffs generally do not surpass a hundred kilograms. Considering combat experience, hyenas hold a significant advantage. How could a Tibetan Mastiff possibly win? By activating some sort of reminiscence burst mode?"
The male student remained unconvinced but, faced with Chen Qian’s extensive knowledge, could only grudgingly concede.
Chen Qian continued, "The tigers we see are Siberian Tigers. Adult male Siberian Tigers can weigh as much as 500 pounds, effectively dominating their territory..."
Observing the numerous gazes drawn by Chen Qian’s explanations, particularly from admiring junior female students, the boastful Xiao Shaoxiong felt an undeniable urge to interject.
Xiao Shaoxiong stepped forward, declaring, "Siberian Tigers are merely adequate. The Northeast Tigers from our nation are the world’s most formidable tigers, surpassing Siberian Tigers in ferocity. Regarding Wu Song’s legendary tiger fight, I have a point to make..."
After a period of Xiao Shaoxiong’s elaborate boasting, he suddenly noticed Chen Qian regarding him with an expression as if he were an imbecile.
A flicker of unease struck Xiao Shaoxiong, and he took a half-step back, asking, "What is that supposed to mean?"
Chen Qian clarified, "Siberian Tigers and Northeast Tigers are actually the same subspecies."
Xiao Shaoxiong inwardly cursed his misfortune: "Damn it, what rotten luck!"
...
Following their exploration of the tiger zone, Jiang Ning proceeded to the leopard and lion enclosures. As the specialized feeding vehicle for the exotic animals had not yet commenced operations, close-range feeding was not possible, resulting in a swift tour of these areas.
The imposing roller coaster track materialized in the distance, a sight to behold after navigating the Wolf Zone.
"Jiang Ning, look! That roller coaster seems incredibly fun!" Xue Yuantong exclaimed, her finger pointing towards the amusement park grounds.
"Let’s go, come on!" Chen Siyu chimed in, her voice filled with eager anticipation.
Consequently, Jiang Ning steered the sightseeing vehicle toward the amusement area. As they drew nearer, shrieks of exhilaration echoed from the roller coaster soaring above.
Along the external roadway, Cao Kun from Class 8 was spotted, a bottle of purified water in hand. He appeared somewhat pale, seemingly in the process of recovering his composure.
Noticing Jiang Ning's vehicle approaching, he offered a sincere warning, "That roller coaster is genuinely terrifying, even more so than the vertical one. You should proceed with caution."
With that, he took another sip of his water.
Despite the sheer terror, within the grip of immense fear, he had stumbled upon a profound realization about the meaning of life.
The ache in his heart had surprisingly lessened.
’Meng Zi Yun, I will endeavor to forget you,’ Cao Kun mused, his thoughts gradually drifting.
Jiang Ning maneuvered the car into a parking space. He then proceeded toward the roller coaster's entrance, observing other students with similarly pale faces en route.
"Mystic Bird Rainforest," Xue Yuantong read the prominent sign aloud, her voice crisp and clear.
Bai Yuxia and Yang Sheng approached from behind, their greetings warm, "It’s wonderful that you’re here too."
Jiang Ning turned, his gaze meeting Yang Sheng's athletic and tidy appearance.
Bai Yuxia, adorned in a pair of revealing hot pants, a delicate lace white camisole, and a mint green cardigan, presented a truly stunning figure, perfectly embodying the vibrant beauty of youth.
"Mhmm, hello everyone," Bai Yuxia offered, her voice maintaining its characteristic level-headed tone.
The group ventured into the Mystic Bird Rainforest. Upon their entry, the ambient temperature noticeably dropped by several degrees. Above them, a dense canopy of trees stretched skyward, while a diverse array of flowers and grasses flourished at varying heights, creating an atmosphere of serene beauty.
