Friday.

The bell signaling the end of the second afternoon class chimed, and Teacher Ouyang departed from Class Eight, murmuring to himself.

"Damn it, after this class, I was filled with indignation. These students mockingly remark every day that I don't resemble my son. How do we look different? We clearly share the same features!" Teacher Ouyang pondered, perplexed.

However, he refrained from losing his temper, recalling how they had someone else teach when he deliberately skipped class previously.

Teacher Ouyang felt helpless.

He walked away, his frustration palpable.

Jiang Yanan grumbled, "Teacher Ouyang is well aware that if he mentions his son, who is over six feet tall and on track for a top university, he'll inevitably face ridicule. Why does he persist in bringing him up?"

Cui Yu dashed over and inquired, "Jiang Yanan, would you like to grab dinner with me?"

"Get lost!" Jiang Yanan retorted sharply.

Cui Yu scampered away, laughing heartily.

Shen Qing'e whispered, "Perhaps he genuinely enjoys it."

From the front row, Xue Yuantong piped up, "Jiang Ning, are we still going to sell fried fish tonight?"

Jiang Ning responded, "I'm awaiting a message from Brother Li at the seafood shop, but he never replies; our connection seems to have faded."

A chill permeated the air around Shen Qing'e.

She felt a pang of bitterness within; wasn't she in a similar state?

Xue Yuantong inquired further, "Alright, why did you change your WeChat display name?"

Jiang Ning explained, "Because it makes me appear more upstanding."

Xue Yuantong, unconcerned with his moral standing, continued, "Jiang Ning, since we're both free tonight, shall we go to the snack street? I'm not particularly keen on going."

Jiang Ning replied, "I have no desire to go."

Xue Yuantong fiddled with his fingers, blinking, "Are you absolutely sure you don't want to go, not even a little?"

After some back-and-forth persuasion, Jiang Ning finally agreed to visit the snack street, and Tongtong ceased her inquiries.

Although school had concluded, numerous students dedicated to their studies remained in the classroom.

Chen Siyu, for instance, was pleading, "Tongtong, could you make fried fish for me the next time I visit your place?"

Xue Yuantong curved his lips and casually replied, "It's absolutely no trouble."

Bai Yuxia glanced at Chen Siyu and directly asked, "Tongtong, could you teach me how to make fried fish?"

Tongtong responded, "I'll send you a voice message detailing it once I get home."

"Okay, thank you."

Chen Siyu observed Bai Yuxia's method and gave her a somewhat vacant look.

Bai Yuxia felt a touch of offense and offered advice, "Si Yu, the more skills you acquire, the less you'll need to rely on others."

Chen Siyu confidently retorted, "I simply need to ask a few more people, and then I can save the effort of learning the skills."

Bai Yuxia was left speechless.

Once Jiang Ning and Tongtong departed, Chen Siyu leaned in close to Bai Yuxia's ear, almost brushing against her delicate pink earlobe, and whispered, "Do you know why I can always access the river dam?"

...

Jiang Ning navigated his electric scooter, with Tongtong accompanying him towards the bustling street.

Upon reaching the intersection just outside the school gate, Shang Caiwei was observed walking alone. Her hair partially obscured her face as she carried a small backpack, her head bowed, exuding an aura of vulnerability.

Tongtong greeted her, "Weiwei, where are you headed?"

Shang Caiwei lifted her face, her eyes devoid of their usual shyness, answering, "I'm going to the street to find my brother."

Tongtong, who frequently teamed up with her in games, considered them somewhat friendly.

She generously extended an invitation, "Come along, I'll have my driver give you a ride!"

Shang Caiwei felt a twinge of embarrassment about riding on the scooter, but Tongtong was eager to discuss game strategies with her, delving into topics she was passionate about, which ultimately convinced Shang Caiwei to join.

Jiang Ning rode ahead, while Tongtong and Weiwei engaged in conversation.

"Actually, Jiang Ning's gaming prowess is quite remarkable, nearly on par with my own!" Xue Yuantong boasted.

"Furthermore, his gaming spectrum is incredibly broad, spanning numerous platforms, and he's been particularly enjoying GTA lately."

Shang Caiwei was familiar with GTA; she even had an English version of San Andreas installed on her phone.

Based on her previous impressions of Jiang Ning as quite gentle, she expressed surprise, "Does he truly enjoy such intense games?"

Xue Yuantong affirmed, "Absolutely, he's incredibly skilled!"

As the two girls were chatting, a sleek black Mercedes, its badge gleaming, appeared at a bend in the side road ahead. It honked incessantly, signaling its intention to turn without reducing its speed.

Jiang Ning swerved slightly to the side, narrowly evading the vehicle.

The bald driver in the Mercedes, noticing they were merely students, straightened up and shouted, "Don't you have ears?"

Jiang Ning retaliated with a swift kick, sending the Mercedes's badge flying through the air.

He then twisted the throttle, smoothly accelerating away on his scooter.

The bald man stood dumbfounded, his initial shock quickly turning to rage. He had intended to pursue them by car, but they had already vanished, leaving him scrambling out to retrieve the fallen badge, his once upright posture now slumped in defeat.

"I'm calling the police! I absolutely will!" The bald man's fury surged, his blood pressure soaring and his liver aching at the sheer audacity.

Never before had he encountered such shamelessness!

A short distance away, Xue Yuantong remarked to Shang Caiwei, "Didn't I tell you? He's a high-level player in GTA."

Shang Caiwei remained silent.

She vividly remembered an earlier instance when riding with Jiang Ning. He had carelessly bumped into a child who had suddenly darted into the road, yet he had sped away without a second thought.

‘The privileges on the road are far too great…’ Shang Caiwei couldn't shake a sense of unease.

After a ride lasting about five minutes, they finally halted their journey in front of a place called 'Boundless Fighting'.

Xue Yuantong voiced his surprise. "Weiwei, do you participate in boxing?"

Shang Caiwei felt a flush of embarrassment. "My brother is inside; I'm going to ask him to drive me home."

"Understood then."

As a child from a humble background, Xue Yuantong had never visited a martial arts club before and found himself gazing around with genuine curiosity.

Noticing his interest and feeling grateful for the ride, Shang Caiwei finally gathered her courage. "Xue Yuantong, Jiang Ning, I have some training cards. Let me treat you both."

Xue Yuantong responded politely, "That is exceedingly kind of you."

Steeling her resolve further, Shang Caiwei added, "Although it's a fighting club, they prepare a kind of steak burger here that is exceptionally delicious. It's more fresh and flavorful than anything KFC offers. Please, let me treat you."

Xue Yuantong clasped his hands behind his back. "Very well, we shall reluctantly take a look around. It's not as if we're solely interested in the burgers or anything like that."
