Shao Shuangshuang takes in three young girls, including the orphaned Mei Dai, intending to raise them as her own. Meanwhile, in Class 8, a teacher announces that new students from town high schools will be transferring in, causing a mix of reactions among the current students.

Gaze shifting to Gong Jin, desk mate Wang Yong harbored a silent admiration. It became clear why no one in Zhuang Jianhui’s inner circle dared to dismiss Gong Jin’s presence; when it came to sheer patience, he far surpassed Wang Yong himself!

Patience was indeed a necessity for Gong Jin, as he’d recently observed the Pang family’s relentless expansion.

His eyes fell upon a fingernail-sized scratch marring the stark white wall nearby. He distinctly recalled that when he first moved to this seat, Pang Jiao’s shape had perfectly aligned with that mark. Now, however, it seemed to have expanded by a millimeter!

It was unnerving, like a growing, monstrous entity!

Wang Yong pinched his nose, a flicker of curiosity surfacing regarding how Brother Jin managed to hold conversations with Pang Jiao. Didn’t he fear some sort of chemical assault?

Gong Jin gave the bottle a gentle shake.

Wang Yong took a closer look, realizing it was a bottle of Yida.

The final morning class was originally scheduled for Chinese literature, but the physical education instructor, Gu Wei, unilaterally decided to alter the timetable.

A wave of sudden cheerfulness swept through the student body.

Xue Yuantong nudged Jiang Ning, whispering, "Did you hear? The homeroom teacher mentioned there are students from my hometown, Hu Temple Town, attending the high school. Apparently, they might even be former classmates from my elementary school."

"Do you think they’ll be surprised when they see me at Fourth Middle School?"

Jiang Ning retorted, "Perhaps they'll be shocked that you're still only one-point-five meters tall."

Xue Yuantong shot him a fierce glare before turning and exiting the classroom.

Bai Yuxia observed Jiang Ning, finding his words rather cutting.

Jiang Ning then advised, "We should exploit her current vulnerability and hit her a few more times."

Bai Yuxia looked puzzled, asking, "Hmm? You mean she might actually grow taller in the future?"

Female development lagged behind males; they typically concluded their growth spurts by sixteen or seventeen, unlike boys who could continue stretching until nineteen or twenty.

Bai Yuxia harbored no anxieties about her own height; at 168.6 cm, she was perfectly content. As for Tongtong, she had to admit, she was indeed a bit short...

Jiang Ning responded, "I believe it's possible."

Hearing this perspective, Bai Yuxia paused in thought. If Tongtong were to reach the 160-centimeter range, she’d seemingly possess no significant weaknesses, and standing beside Jiang Ning would appear quite fitting...

Bai Yuxia quickly dismissed the notion. It was simply impossible; she couldn't possibly grow another centimeter.

Bai Yuxia declared with conviction, "Concentrated essence holds greater value."

Chen Siyu countered, "Naturally, the more essence, the better!"

A mischievous glint sparked in Bai Yuxia's eyes, and she playfully chided, "Shameless Siyu, you should go sit with Tongtong!"

During the physical education period, only those students with scheduled PE classes were present on the sports grounds.

To prevent disruption to academic subjects, the school had rescheduled the daily PE sessions for students preparing for an upcoming sports meet to the afternoon.

Gu Wei instructed the Class 8 students to complete two laps before announcing free activity time.

He then approached Tang Jing, inquiring with evident curiosity, "Your cousin seems to hold a favorable impression of me, yet why is it proving so difficult to ask her out?"

Tang Jing replied, "Mr. Gu, please elaborate on the entire sequence of events."

Tang Jing’s interest wasn't solely due to the generous salary the PE teacher received, a benefit stemming from Evergreen Liquid’s sponsorship of Yu Zhou Fourth Middle School. Moreover, Gu Wei was a decent person, and quite suitable for her cousin, in her opinion.

Gu Wei recounted, "Certainly, pay close attention to my narration."

"I had a pleasant conversation with your cousin; she seemed quite pleased with my physique!" Gu Wei puffed his chest out slightly, feeling quite proud at this juncture.

"However, on our way home, as we discussed work, she suddenly became distant and seemed uninterested."

Tang Jing asked, "May I see the chat logs?"

Gu Wei readily produced his phone.

Tang Jing perused the conversation:

(Her cousin initiated the caring exchange: "Head to bed early tonight; you have classes tomorrow."

Gu Wei replied: "You too."

Cousin: "I can't, I have work to finish."

Cousin then expressed a sigh: "Sometimes, when work becomes too taxing, I truly wish to find someone to marry, someone who could support me."

Gu Wei responded: "That won't work; everything I attempt to nurture ends up dying."

Cousin: "Hehehe.")

Tang Jing was utterly speechless.

"Mr. Gu, who exactly imparted this particular strategy to you?"

Gu Wei answered, "Gao Heshuai."

Tang Jing found this rather unbelievable: "He's single himself; how could he possibly know how to advise you on such matters?"

Gu Wei nodded in agreement: "I believe his advice is quite sound; prioritizing honesty is of utmost importance!"

Tang Jing countered, "If his advice were truly that effective, would he still be single?"

Gu Wei persisted, "But he is honest, isn't he?"

Unable to contain herself any longer, Tang Jing sought backup, pulling Huang Yuzhu over and asking, "Is being honest truly that important?"

Huang Yuzhu responded with solemnity, "Honesty forms the bedrock of one's character."

Yang Sheng was engaged in a game of table tennis with Bai Yuxia, drawing the attention of numerous male students who stopped to observe.

On the football field, senior students Tao Nian and Chi Jia were enjoying a game of football alongside freshmen like Gai Shixun and others.

The football unexpectedly shot towards the table-tennis area, and Yang Sheng swiftly kicked it back.

Cui Yu was thoroughly convinced: "They absolutely did that on purpose!"

Yang Sheng responded, "Not necessarily. It might have been an accident."

Cui Yu countered, "How could it be? Back when I used to play football, that was my signature move!"

Yang Sheng found himself with nothing further to say.

Liu Chuandao exclaimed in frustration, "Damn it, look at their insufferable arrogance!"

Duan Shigang declared, "Come on, let's go play football with them!"

And so, a contingent of individuals marched with energetic resolve toward the football field. Swiftly, the teams were formed: the senior class of '8' matched against Tao Nian's assembled group, facing off against the formidable freshmen team.

Although the freshmen were at a disadvantage in terms of sheer physical stamina, Gai Shixun demonstrated impressive football prowess. Additionally, another player, Zong Xiaoye, who had benefited from professional training, proved to be a master of coordinated play.

Gai Shixun, with a look of pure arrogance, dribbled past Cui Yu, smirking tauntingly.

He recognized Cui Yu, having heard about him; his prior attempt to woo someone had been thwarted by this very boy. Now, it was time for retribution!

Tao Nian and Chi Jia moved to intercept Gai Shixun.

With his back to the goal and unable to advance further, Gai Shixun took a few extra steps before passing the ball to Zong Xiaoye.

Before Tao Nian and the others could react, Zong Xiaoye surged forward instantly. He took a shot while in full stride, the football hurtling towards the goal with immense power.

The ball found the back of the net. The score was 1:0.

"Amazing, Zong Xiaoye!"

"So powerful!"

The field erupted with jubilant cheers.

Conversely, a somber mood descended upon the sophomores and seniors.

Zong Xiaoye, exchanging celebratory high-fives with his teammates as he ran, basked in the spotlight of glory.
