Cui Yu remarked casually, "Because seat assignments are due."
Everyone understands that in Class 8, top grades aren't sufficient by themselves; a decent amount of popularity is also required.
If not, during seat allocation, you'd find yourself isolated in a void, soon occupied by Pang Jiao and Wang Yan Yan, plunging you into utter delight.
Guo Kunnan: "He’s frightened as well?"
Cui Yu: "Who isn’t afraid?"
Gong Jin spotted their hushed exchange and prepared to inquire just as Yu Wen approached with her bag, signaling covertly.
"You beckoning me?" Gong Jin furrowed his brow.
"Come on quick!" Yu Wen pressed.
Lu Qiqi intended to tag along, fearing her fake friend might stir trouble.
Right then, Yu Wen added, "Qiqi, join us too."
In the corner.
Yu Wen announced boldly, "I intend to campaign for class president!"
Lu Qiqi nearly believed she'd heard wrong, "You’re serious? Running for class president?"
Yu Wen raised her chin, face flushed with fervor: "I’ll tread the same road as the class president, turn into his companion. I aim to show I deserve him!"
Gong Jin creased his forehead, pondering, what nonsense is this.
He bluntly asked, "So what? How does your class president bid relate to me?"
Yu Wen: "Vote for me!"
"Why vote for you..." Before he could complete the thought, a memory struck him.
Yu Wen scribbled in her notebook with a pen: "Two nights ago, you lost the wager and got sold off by Wang Longlong and the others. I paid 500 yuan for your seven chores. You did one yesterday morning; five left. Vote for me as class president, and I’ll deduct two, alright?"
Gong Jin hated chores intensely. During his An City school days, he avoided them entirely. Now, slashing two at once appealed, so he nodded: "Fine by me."
Yu Wen eyed Lu Qiqi: "You vote too, and I’ll reduce his by one more."
Though reluctant to fulfill her buddy’s chore, Lu Qiqi saw the opportunity to earn points, replying swiftly: "Count me in!"
Gong Jin shot her a look, murmuring: "Appreciate it."
With both settled, Yu Wen spun around and departed.
Lu Qiqi wondered aloud: "How’d you learn about the class officer elections today?"
Yu Wen kept walking away, her words floating back, "No intel exists that money can’t secure."
She’d shelled out a hundred yuan for the tip from Little Spirit.
Exiting the corner, Yu Wen located Zhang Chi, phone in hand, lounging on the classroom’s north end.
Xin Youling munched at her desk, catching sight of it but dismissing it lightly.
Her focus lay on Yang Sheng. He wielded immense influence; any shifts could threaten her spot!
She needed to probe if Yang Sheng plotted to grab control!
Xin Youling pondered deeply.
Zhang Chi browsed online shops. Income streams abounded for him, yet his lavish habits burned cash quicker.
Spotting Yu Wen nearing, he queried coolly, "What do you want?"
Yu Wen scanned about and stated, "Class president vote this morning—pick me."
Zhang Chi nearly laughed out loud, mocking, "Know you from somewhere?"
Instantly, his eyes landed on a twenty-yuan note.
Zhang Chi’s face shifted, teeth clenched as he muttered, "The current class president treated me great. While everyone ignored me, she..."
A second twenty-yuan bill materialized.
Zhang Chi’s doubt vanished in a flash. Grinning wide, he grabbed for it: "Done, Yu Wen!"
Yu Wen lifted her arm, gold bracelet flashing brightly, intoning like a rich housewife: "Yu Wen still?"
Zhang Chi caught on: "Class President! Done!"
Yu Wen departed satisfied, aiming for the class outcast Chai Wei.
Zhang Chi stashed the cash, eyeing thoughtful Xin Youling. He mused inwardly: ’Apologies, Xin Youling—the class president paid handsomely!’
…
Across the broad campus walkway, students milled about.
Jiang Ning bore breakfast for Tongtong, accompanied by a ponytail girl.
Lately, Fourth Middle School’s cafeteria skipped small table setups, leaving many eating outdoors. Jiang Ning and Geng Lu sensed a high school freshman vibe again.
"That store’s packed, really buzzing," Geng Lu commented.
Jiang Ning eyed badminton players beneath the school building: "We slipped out early from class. On the hour, it’d be jammed."
Geng Lu remained composed: "Some crowding isn't bad at all; it really boosts the vibe."
Sharing a meal with Jiang Ning was a rare treat for her, so the surroundings didn't faze her one bit.
Jiang Ning scanned the generous curve of her bosom with Divine Sense; the packed space was unbearable for him.
Geng Lu, lost in fond memories: "It's been forever since I savored their soup dumplings; dipped in chili powder, it's pure excitement. Wasn't I scarfing them down super quick just now? Wasn't it like I was wolfing them?"
Jiang Ning kept moving ahead: "If you crave it there, we can head back tomorrow morning."
"Hey, why say that? Doesn't my eating style bother you?" Geng Lu averted her gaze, her cheeks' baby fat much reduced, but still soft and dewy.
Jiang Ning laughed lightly: "Bother what? You've always been beautiful."
Stunned, Geng Lu grew bashful and looked away, her lowered face beaming with a shy smile in her eyes.
They wandered like this to the teaching building, where Duan Shigang and Cao Kunzi battled it out in badminton, as Liu Chuandao waited eagerly on the sidelines.
Liu Chuandao noticed Jiang Ning first, then spotted Geng Lu right next to him.
After switching to Class 8 post-second-year subject split, and with Geng Lu off training in An City, Liu Chuandao hadn't seen her often. Seeing her now, she looked absolutely captivating.
Too bad Geng Lu was tight with Jiang Ning. Liu Chuandao could only seethe with jealous envy. But no worries; with hard work on his skills, he'd definitely capture the beauty Yun Tingting.
Then he'd have his stunning catch, right?
This idea lifted Liu Chuandao's spirits. He called out, waving: "Jiang Ning, up for some games? I just had a badminton breakthrough!"
Jiang Ning eyed him and courteously refused: "I'm busy now, perhaps another time."
Liu Chuandao: "Sure, sure."
As they passed the badminton area, Geng Lu wondered: "He seems so pumped—is that rumor for real?"
Yeah, the tale of Yun Tingting wedding a badminton champ.
Jiang Ning replied: "True or not, Yun Tingting wouldn't let him smash a shuttlecock with her anyway."
"Bravo!" Cheers erupted from the second and third floors once more. Drawn by the noise, Geng Lu's eyes landed on Yun Tingting in tight sportswear that hugged her curves, radiating hot allure.
"She's super popular," Geng Lu murmured with a sigh.
She remembered how boys once hurled 'slut' insults at Yun Tingting playing downstairs, but over time, the jeers died out, giving way to thankful cheers.
Jiang Ning stated coolly: "At sixteen or seventeen, boasting a figure outshining most married women, popularity comes naturally."
Pondering his words, Geng Lu blurted: "I'd love a figure just like hers."
'You're thinking backwards?'
After a moment's thought, Jiang Ning suggested: "To get that, you'd probably need surgery to trim it down some."
Geng Lu favored baggy outfits to conceal herself. From Jiang Ning's view, her form outdid Yun Tingting's in beauty and size. Shrinking it via surgery wouldn't be simple.
His comment flushed Geng Lu's cheeks; she truly mulled it over: "I'm kinda curious about that procedure. In a reduction, does flesh or blood come out?"
Jiang Ning feigned seriousness: "That's your joyful tomorrow."
