Realm of Myths and Legends Chapter 1291: Unseen Ties

The Kroma family members surely felt the life force radiating from the Embracing Rebirth. Their intention was likely to use this force to heal the daughter of Grand Duke Harpe; however, Izroth was aware that such a method would prove ineffective.

Although it emanated life energy, the Embracing Rebirth was not an item for healing. To put it plainly, it served to invigorate an individual rather than restore their health.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Suddenly, the distinct sound of a familiar knock echoed at his door. Without a doubt, it belonged to Griselle, the attendant Vexpela had assigned to him.

Earlier, Izroth had dispatched Griselle with the Circlet of Darkness to investigate if any unusual nether energy was present in the private rooms.

"Enter," Izroth stated calmly.

"Excuse me," Griselle replied as she entered the room and approached Izroth.

Griselle presented the Circlet of Darkness to Izroth with both hands.

"I have returned, Supreme Elder," Griselle announced.

Izroth accepted the Circlet of Darkness and stored it back into his inventory.

"Did you find anything?" Izroth inquired.

"Yes. Just as you instructed, Supreme Elder, I moved about, awaiting a reaction from the bracelet you provided. It remained normal everywhere else, except for one location. Upon approaching a certain room, the bracelet turned completely black. It… felt rather unsettling, and my years of experience warned me that it was too hazardous to proceed further. Thus, I retreated before I could confirm it visually. My apologies, Supreme Elder," Griselle explained with evident regret.

"No, you did well. I commend your decision to trust your instincts. Ultimately, your safety is paramount over mere information. You have my gratitude," Izroth responded in a reassuring tone.

As Izroth began to ponder, Griselle spoke again.

"…However, I was able to ascertain the identities of the occupants in the private room where the bracelet reacted by consulting the guest registry. According to the log, that private room was allocated to guests from the Undying Desolate Valley," Griselle stated with a touch of anxiety.

The Undying Desolate Valley staunchly adhered to their faith in the Goddess of Light, Primalux. In contrast, the denizens of the netherworld revered the Netherworld Monarch. Like oil and water, these two factions were fundamentally incompatible.

"You have performed admirably. Though I imagine it’s not precisely standard procedure for an attendant to peruse the guest logs, even if it pertains to a request from the Supreme Elder of the Fourth Pavilion," Izroth remarked calmly.

"I was instructed by the manager—no, the young miss—to serve as your personal attendant, Supreme Elder. As such, I shall endeavor to the best of my ability to yield the results you expect of me," Griselle declared without hesitation.

"I intend to establish a shop in the Central Hub. Having someone with your experience and sharp intellect would be invaluable. How would you feel about joining my venture? I am prepared to offer you double your current salary. Furthermore, if you have any specific requests, I will do my utmost to fulfill them, naturally, provided they are within reasonable bounds," Izroth stated directly.

Griselle's surprise was palpable at Izroth's offer.

"It is precisely as the young miss predicted. By leaving a favorable impression on the Supreme Elder, an opportunity to change my life would manifest. If you are willing to accept me, Supreme Elder, I will exert my full effort to ensure I never cause you disappointment or betray the trust you place in me," Griselle replied with a warm smile and a respectful bow.

Had it been anyone else, such an action might have been misconstrued as an attempt to place Griselle by his side as a monitor. However, Izroth understood that was not the intent. For one, it would have been imprudent for Griselle to overtly reveal such intentions. Secondly, Vexpela was not in a position to employ such an obvious and heavy-handed method of control.

This was most likely Vexpela’s approach, not only to allow her subordinates like Griselle to mature and broaden their horizons but also to assist Izroth in his establishment within the Central Hub. After all, having an individual familiar with the inner workings of the place would undoubtedly prove beneficial.

"Then, from this moment forward, you are one of my people. Regardless of where your path leads, always remember that. Should anyone cause you trouble, do not hesitate to bring it to my attention. We shall finalize the particulars later. For the present, I have another task for you," Izroth said, retrieving two scrolls from his inventory.

Izroth spent a few moments writing on both scrolls. He then sealed each one and handed them both to Griselle.

"Deliver the scroll in your left hand to the residing quarters of the Head of the Formation Master Guild. As for the other, present it to the members of the Kroma family," Izroth instructed. He then continued, "If the Head of the Formation Master Guild refuses to receive the scroll, simply say Arcane Script Runemaster. They will understand. As for the Kroma family—you can simply tell that it’s from the Supreme Elder of the Fourth Pavilion.""Understood. I will ensure that your messages are delivered without fail," Griselle said confidently. The next moment, after giving a proper farewell, Griselle excused herself to carry out the orders given to her by Izroth.Meanwhile, Izroth turned his attention back toward the auction. Even though his conversation with Griselle was not that long, the competition had become fierce among those still participating.Needless to say, unless one resided in one of the private rooms, they simply did not have the means to compete for the Transforming Rebirth’s Embrace."42,750,000 gold coins! Along with all the previous benefits mentioned! I will also add one support-type SSS-ranked magic item!" Burake offered.
