Realm of Myths and Legends Chapter 1240: The Heavenly Lightning’s Nature

~5 minute read · 1,330 words

Izroth started on his second attempt. This time, he paid closer attention to the movement of his Natural Energy as he added Firebeak Spiral, Razor Tempest Leaf and Roots of G’Apola into the Dark Abyssal Cauldron simultaneously.

Rmmmble!

The Dark Abyssal Cauldron violently trembled; however, as Izroth controlled the temperature, the trembling quickly ceased.

Once the initial ingredients settled down and melded together in the cauldron, Izroth swiftly added in the Submerged Lily, Chilled Twin Rose, and Silent Dreams.

However, instead of trying to add the three new ingredients with the existing ones that had already combined, Izroth kept the two batches separate within the cauldron. But, this was a lot easier said than done.

The Natural Energy of Heavenly Lightning lashed out and tried to overwhelm the newly added ingredients—as if it wanted to prevent the elements from being together as one.

Nonetheless, despite the difficulty and the wild behavior of his Natural Energy, Izroth managed to successfully fuse the recently added ingredients.

Inside the cauldron was a red orb of light and a light blue orb of light. The two constantly rotated around each other without ever coming into contact.

Izroth placed the Electric Stem Orb into the cauldron as the sound of crackling thunder sounded.

At the same time, the red orb of light and light blue orb of light began to draw closer to one another with the Electric Stem Orb at the center acting as a drawing force.

Right as the three pieces touched, Izroth slammed his hand into the cauldron and pushed the flames to its maximum output.

Rmmmmmble!

The Dark Abyssal Cauldron trembled with several times the intensity as Izroth’s first attempt. It seemed that the opposing forces building up inside the cauldron wanted to burst out and escape. However, the three pieces appeared to be slowly combining into one!

Izroth inwardly furrowed his brows as he sensed that something was off. Without hesitation, he cut off the flames to the Dark Abyssal Cauldron.

...BOOOM!

An intense explosion sounded, sending shockwaves that slammed into the thin barrier that caused cracks to form as the energy from the blast continued to carry outward.

"The barrier is fracturing...!" Koralena gasped as her eyes widened in shock.

The barrier set up around each participant was capable of withstanding a cauldron explosion from the fallout of a grade six or lower pill. Therefore, for cracks to appear in it and the energy inside to leak outward meant that it was a force that far exceeded that.

"We cannot allow it to disturb the other participants." Rozomius said as he clasped his hands together.

"Be at ease, Apothecary Rozomius. I will take care of it." Varuu stated calmly.

Hearing Varuu’s words, Rozomius lowered his hands and took a step back.

The following moment, a small bead of energy appeared at Varuu’s fingertip as she casually flicked it toward the fracturing barrier.

Swoosh!

In an instant, the energy that had started to leak outward was halted in its track. Furthermore, the cracks on the barrier began to seal close and repair itself as the shockwave was forcibly suppressed.

"Should we prepare to lower the barrier and send someone to treat Apothecary Izroth’s injuries?" Po questioned.

"No, there is no need. This young man is quite energetic. His body is sturdier than most humans, especially when compared to Apothecaries who often slack off when it comes to minding their physical health. If he is truly in any danger, I will make a move beforehand. After all, it would be a stain on the Apothecary Guild’s reputation to lose a young promising talent, who also happens to be its Honorary Elder, while I am present." Varuu said as she kept her gaze on the cloud of dust that had yet to settle within Izroth’s barrier.

"For Apothecary Izroth’s body to be sturdy enough to face that kind of shockwave head-on, his physique might be comparable to a young armored-tortoise zensana—that group of warriors known for having the toughest defense among us zensanas." Po commented.

Meanwhile, inside the barrier, the dust started to clear away as Izroth stood unharmed several meters away from the Dark Abyssal Cauldron.

Right before the explosion, Izroth moved away from the cauldron and braced himself. As a result, he only ended up with a few light wounds that quickly healed thanks to his natural health regeneration.

"It was okay up until the final moment, but that reaction at the last second—I think understand now." Izroth said to himself as he walked over toward the cauldron.

Izroth realized something was wrong when the separate orbs of light and Electric Stem Orb were being drawn together as the Natural Energy of Lightning circulated inside the cauldron. He used his Natural Energy this time to suppress the individual compatible ingredients before combining them together. However, he suddenly lost control of the Heavenly Lightning as it erupted with little to no warning. And, just as it had previously done, the Heavenly Lightning destroyed all the ingredients within the cauldron.

This time, however, the backlash was particularly intense. Izroth knew that if he had been a little less careless, he would not have gotten away with such light wounds even with his sturdy physique.

Izroth took another set of ingredients from the wooden table.

This time, Izroth kept the cauldron’s temperature near its lowest setting. And, once the flame was stable, Izroth added all seven ingredients into the Dark Abyssal Cauldron simultaneously.

"He placed all the ingredients into the cauldron at the same time? This..." Rozomius’ brows rose in surprise as he could not hide his concern.

"Having already failed twice, perhaps Apothecary Izroth has become somewhat desperate for results? Either way, adding that many materials of differing elements into a cauldron will not produce any favorable results. The backlash this time can be even more dangerous than the last." Koralena mentioned with a frown.

Izroth activated his Energy Vision Sense as he examined each of the seven ingredients within the cauldron.

Izroth carefully controlled the Heavenly Lightning as he guided it through every ingredient several times. Each time the Heavenly Lightning passed through one of the ingredients, it looked as if it would tear it apart. But, after it survived the Heavenly Lightning coursing through it, the ingredient appeared to become more resilient.

Instead of combining the compatible ingredients, Izroth kept all seven separate and used the Natural Energy of Heavenly Lightning to slowly temper them individually.

Izroth spent the next hour tempering the ingredients for the Seven Element Change Pill. He knew that if he tried to rush it, all of his work would go up in flames like his previous two attempts. That being said, the Seven Element Change Pill was, without a doubt, the most difficult pill Izroth had crafted so far in RML.

Varuu’s gaze never left Izroth or his cauldron as she observed his every action.

"This young man... Is he using the Natural Energy of Lightning to refine each ingredient on its own while it’s already in the cauldron? To do so while also maintaining flawless control over the temperature of his cauldron—it seems that I have underestimated him." Varuu thought to herself.

All of a sudden, Izroth’s eyes shot open as he slammed his hand into the cauldron.

Boom!

The Dark Abyssal Cauldron shook as Izroth increased the temperature of the flames. At the same time, he shifted the main focus of his Natural Energy of Heavenly Lightning from tempering to suppressing as he slowly guided all seven ingredients into one at the cauldron’s center.

As the ingredients all came together, Izroth clapped his hands together as the Natural Energy of Heavenly Lightning surged about. Then, in a shocking action, Izroth let the Heavenly Lightning run wild and attempt to destroy the ingredients that had just started to take on the shape of a pill.
