Raising My Trash Ability into a Broken SSS+ Rank Skill Chapter 852 The Pro Lawyer

By Vritra's words, Petonil was suddenly stunned into silence.
He really couldn't prove that the eye had been given by the Divine himself.
But still, that wasn't all.
"Then how do you explain having Divine's abilities? Did you find those lying around too?" As he spoke, Petonil squeezed a ball-like object.
A large screen appeared, showing Vritra using different abilities like Forbid and the Dimensional Book.
Most of those abilities were clearly associated with the Divine.
"Of course, I found those in a dungeon too. How am I supposed to know whether they belonged to the Divine or not?" Vritra said, then turned to Evelyn and asked, "Right, Miss Judge?"
"Certainly. I myself have found a few of those abilities. He had spread them around the universe, anyone could have found them."
After speaking, Evelyn muttered, "Forbid."
Instantly, almost everyone in the court froze except Vritra and his family.
Petonil: "..."
How was he supposed to fight against both the judge and this devious Vritra? They were outright dismissing everything.
"What about his sisters?!" Petonil shouted, growing frustrated.
"Oh? Sisters?" Vritra looked at the idiot before turning back and asking,
"Wifey, Tess, do either of you have a brother named Divine?"
"What brother? I was the only child in my dragon family." Yasmine replied confidently.
"I did have a brother, but he was human and was killed by you, husband. I don't know any Divine." Teresa shrugged innocently.
Vritra looked back at Petonil with a faint smile.
Without saying a word, his expression alone said everything.
Petonil shouted, "They were his sisters in their previous lives!"
Vritra immediately turned to him and replied in the same loud tone, turning it into a heated argument.
"You were a mosquito in your previous life. Should I crush you?
What do their previous lives have to do with this one? Isn't that the whole purpose of reincarnation? To have a completely new beginning, to leave everything behind and become an entirely different being? And how do you even know they were Divine's sisters? Why should they be associated with him?"
"Of course I know! I was told by the gods. They had already confirmed it. And I can also guarantee that Divine is still connected to them and-"
But Vritra immediately cut him off.
"You just keep slandering us! How can you prove Divine is still around his sisters, assuming they even are his sisters as you claim?!"
The discussion became so rapid that the people in the audience held their breath.
It was as if a battle had erupted inside the courtroom.
"Divine is still-"
"How?!"
"The gods told-"
"How do they know?! Are the gods to be believed without proof? Then what's even the point of this court? Evelyn, why don't you just give them your seat? It seems their words carry more weight."
"How dare you speak to her like that?! Of course there is enough proof-"
"What is the proof?!" Vritra interrupted again, his voice growing louder with every sentence.
His wives were genuinely surprised.
"Several times, my clients sent people to bring the Divine's sisters over, but only because of Divine did they fail-"
The words had barely left Petonil's mouth when he immediately regretted them.
"You stupid bastard!" the gods behind him cursed inwardly, yet remained seated.
Vritra's fierce expression immediately turned into a smile as he looked at Evelyn and said,
"Just as you heard, the gods have been sending powerful Demi Gods to cause trouble for my family... for my wives. We nearly lost our lives several times because of them."
For the first time, Petonil truly grew nervous.
How had Vritra managed to do that?
During that heated exchange, he had completely controlled the direction of the discussion and tricked him into admitting something he was never supposed to reveal.
But Vritra continued relentlessly, having found an opening and intending to exploit it completely.
"Not only that, they even established an organization called Divine Kage to harass us, even abusing the gods' punishment against me for absolutely no reason on more than one occasion."
"That is a lie!" the Sun God sprang to his feet.
But Vritra merely looked back at him with contempt.
"Did someone ask you to speak? Stay seated and be a good boy."
Burning with shame and fury, the Sun God had no choice but to sit back down.
When had he ever suffered such humiliation?
He was the most respected among the ten gods and even among the vast majority of gods throughout the universe.
No one had ever dared look down on him.
Yet this Vritra...
He was utterly ruthless.
"And not long ago, a member of Divine Kage called Number Zero met with one of the gods. They even had a conversation, and this is what happened..."
Then Vritra played the recording of Number Zero meeting one of the gods.
...
["I already know everything you have said, and quite a few have already gone to take care of him. But we won't underestimate him anymore."]
["We have a reason to eliminate him. Still, we can't directly intervene, so I will share a bit of my power with you, enough to kill any Demi God below Level 6."] the god said.
...
As everyone watched the recording, they were stunned yet again.
But the ones who were truly shocked were none other than the gods and Petonil.
'How did he obtain this? And he shouldn't even know Number Zero's identity.' the god thought, unable to utter a single word.
Directly interfering with a mortal like that was a grave crime for a god, especially without any legitimate reason.
"I- It's fake! It has to be fake! Otherwise, with his strength, how could he possibly record something like this without alerting a god?" Petonil hurriedly argued.
"Heh, sure. Believe whatever you want. Do you think this recording treasure can be forged?"
He held up a strange golden box specifically used for recordings.
Even the gods themselves were incapable of forging its recordings.
Of course, it had been given to him by Evelyn through Divine. Vritra had noticed Number Zero back then, but Divine had suggested a plan.
Which was why Vritra hadn't bothered stopping him and simply allowed him to meet the gods.
"H- How do you even possess that?!" Petonil gulped.
This guy had come completely prepared.
The harder he pushed, the deeper they all sank.
For the first time, he truly sympathized with his son.
"Why should I tell you that? Anyway, all the evidence is right before everyone. I believe everything is already clear." Vritra said before turning toward Evelyn and adding, "Even now, you can check. There should be a large number of Demi Gods heading over to kill me."
The moment he finished speaking, the man in black confirmed it.
There really were numerous Demi Gods, ranging from Level 5 to Level 10, surrounding Planet Zoratian.
None of them could enter.
And every single one of them had come to kill Vritra and his family.
"Hmm. As seen from the recording, and from the fact that all of Petonil's claims have turned out to be nothing more than slander, it is clear that the gods deliberately went out of their way to kill Vritra and his family by abusing their power and authority, even dispatching countless Demi Gods.
It is therefore evident that you are the ones at fault and have wrongfully abused your authority, violating Rule 403 of Clause 69, Rule 1 of Clause 7... of the Gods' Edict!"
Evelyn listed a long series of laws they had violated.
Even Petonil became lost halfway through.
'Whoa...'
Even Vritra was impressed.
She looked incredibly intelligent and authoritative.
"The punishment for those violations will be carried out later. Do you have anything further to add?" Evelyn asked, turning toward Petonil.
"Er..." Petonil stared blankly, his throat suddenly dry.
He hurriedly grabbed a glass of water and emptied it in one gulp.
It wasn't enough.
So he drank several more.
"COUGH... E- Even setting the Divine matter aside, how do they explain all the destruction they caused? The games they ruined?" Petonil said.
That had been the main accusation from the beginning.
Vritra immediately put on a pitiful expression.
"What choice did I have? The gods wanted to kill me. Everyone on Planet Zoratian would have died... my wives, my poor parents... how could I possibly allow that to happen? Left with no other option, I had no choice but to come here.
Shouldn't the gods be held responsible for the chaos within the games? Or simply because they are powerful, are they allowed to do whatever they please while we, the weak, are forced to bear responsibility even for things we never intended? Is that all the law amounts to?
Is there no justice in this world? Do you think I would willingly compete against Level 5 and Level 6 Demi Gods if I had any other choice?"
Vritra spoke everything in one breath, looking deeply aggrieved.
"..." Even Petonil stared at Vritra with his mouth hanging open.
The previous time, he had watched the recording of his son arguing against Vritra.
Back then, he had believed Petophil only lost because Evelyn had sided with Vritra.
Although she had helped him a little this time as well...
It was mainly Vritra who had carried the entire hearing.
He had completely dominated the courtroom.
Had this guy really become such an incredible lawyer after experiencing just one trial?
From being the accused, he had somehow turned himself into the victim, while making the gods look even guiltier than everything they had accused him of.
"S- Still... you could have accomplished the same thing using only one game. Why did you merge four games together?" Petonil asked, completely at a loss for words and unable to think of anything else.
"Hah. That was also the gods' fault." Vritra said, and continued...
