Ava was stunned, her eyes wide in disbelief, at the sight of the person holding the necklace. The jewelry itself was not the main shock; it was him! Her son had finally returned!!
"ART!" Ava exclaimed, tossing aside the dress as she embraced Vritra, her face beaming with a mixture of joy and tears. She completely overlooked her husband in her elation over her son's homecoming. Taking a step back, she began to examine him, ensuring he was unharmed.
"I have returned," Vritra stated, a gentle smile gracing his lips. It was an unexpectedly warm welcome.
"This is absolutely marvelous! I am overjoyed! Husband, let's host a grand party immediately! No, wait, we must prepare first. Let's hold the celebration tomorrow night," Ava declared, her hands trembling with excitement, her words tumbling out in a happy stutter.
"Do not worry, I am not going anywhere for the time being. We will have ample opportunity for such celebrations," Vritra assured her, clasping her hands.
"But first, I want you to meet some-" Vritra began, only to be cut off by Ava.
"But where is my daughter-in-law? Teresa? Didn't she accompany you?" she inquired.
Gunter slapped his forehead, his mind a whirl. In his haste, he had completely forgotten that his son was now married and had a wife. He had practically dragged Art here the moment he saw him, without a second thought for anything else.
"She is outside-" Vritra started to answer, but just then, seven women made their entrance into the room.
The sight left both Gunter and Ava astonished. They recognized several of the newcomers immediately. There was the renowned Dragon Empress Yasmine, and other empresses such as Fiona, Yennefer, Diana, and Vanessa. Maeve was also present, though not an empress, and finally, their very own daughter-in-law, Teresa.
Gunter couldn't quite make out Teresa's face, it seemed blurry to him. However, Ava saw her clearly for the first time. And she was utterly captivated. All seven women were breathtakingly beautiful, yet Teresa possessed a unique radiance that even outshone such remarkable company. Ava knew instantly this was her daughter-in-law.
But the crucial question remained: why were all the others here? They were aware of Art's strong connections with these influential ladies. They had even openly supported Art during the debacle involving the Ford family's wedding.
The couple's questioning gazes shifted to Vritra, their silence conveying a plea for an explanation.
"Ah, as you may already know, these are Yasmine, Fiona, Diana, Maeve-" Vritra started, but Ava interrupted him again before he could finish the introductions.
"Son, I do recognize them all, but uh…" Ava hesitated, unsure how to ask about their presence without appearing impolite. These women were all incredibly powerful and influential. Unlike the foolish Sakshi, who now lay in two pieces, Ava understood the consequences of offending certain individuals.
"Hello, mother," Teresa greeted warmly. Although Vritra wasn't precisely their son in the traditional sense, he was Art in essence. And since she had already begun calling them mother and father, this felt natural.
"Welcome back, Teresa. You look lovely," Ava replied. She maintained a slight distance, remembering that a simple touch could be fatal for Teresa under certain circumstances. Teresa smiled, appreciating the consideration, feeling a genuine sense of family.
Vanessa observed Ava referring to Vritra as her son. She didn't particularly mind. If Ava truly desired the role of a mother figure that much, she could have it. Vanessa's own aspirations lay in becoming the mother of his children anyway.
"COUGH. These seven women are all my wives," Vritra announced, clearing his throat. He watched, curious about their reaction.
"Ah, your wives? How wonderful! Someone, quickly bring something to dr-" Gunter clasped his hands together and nodded in approval. Since they were his son's wives, they deserved the utmost respect and proper hospitality. But something felt amiss.
"Wait, all seven of them are your wives? Since when?!" Ava exclaimed, receiving the day's second major shock.
"Uh… Actually, Teresa is my seventh wife, and Yasmine is my first," Vritra confessed, clearing his throat. The statement sounded rather peculiar.
Gunter glanced at the seven women now gathered, a single, imaginary tear rolling down his cheek. He patted Vritra's shoulder, murmuring, "My son, you have truly grown. I am immensely proud of you. You've inherited my excellent taste in women." He genuinely seemed proud of his son, Vritra (Art). These were undeniably the most exceptional women on the planet, not just in terms of power and influence, but also in sheer beauty. And his son had managed to make them all his wives. How could he not be proud?
"Hold on, hold on! This is hardly the time for reminiscing! You married all seven of them?! And you are all alright with this?" Ava interjected, pulling her husband's hand to steady him, and then turned her questioning gaze to the seven women.
"Yes," came the simultaneous reply from all seven.
"Son, are you absolutely certain about this? Can you truly take care of all of them?" Ava asked earnestly. She loved her son and trusted him implicitly, but she desperately didn't want him to become a degenerate.
Toying with someone's affections, particularly those of women who wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to a man, is truly an awful act.
She genuinely wished for Art to avoid such a fate, despite her complete trust in him.
"Yes, I am certain. We have been together for a considerable time, and I cherish them deeply; we would never part ways," Vritra stated, gazing at her with utmost sincerity.
"..." Ava fell silent for a few moments. Witnessing the profound affection in his eyes for his wives, she eventually nodded.
So, her son was indeed serious about all of them. Since the seven women had no objections, what could they possibly do?
It wasn't as though this was a forbidden practice; quite a number of men took multiple wives.
"Well, if that's the case, then that's wonderful. It seems I'll be blessed with many grandchildren," Ava declared, her worries completely dissipated, replaced by renewed happiness.
Yet, as she observed the seven women, Ava noticed that most of them appeared older than herself.
Wouldn't this situation make their relationship feel somewhat peculiar?
"Ah, speaking of grandchildren, I have another announcement to make," Vritra recalled, taking Yasmine's hand and guiding her forward.
"My dear wife is pregnant with my child. It's already been over a month," he revealed.

...
And so, Ava was presented with yet another monumental surprise of the day – her third!
Her eyes widened anew as she looked from her son to Yasmine, who wore a radiant smile.
'M-My son is going to be a father? I'm going to be a grandmother already?!' Ava thought, glancing towards her husband.
Gunter, too, seemed equally astonished, unable to quite believe he was on the verge of becoming a grandfather.
Vritra contemplated whether to bestow more surprises upon her but decided against it, sensing it might overwhelm her capacity to handle.
"This is absolutely fantastic news!! Congratulations, my son and my first daughter-in-law! We shall arrange a grand celebration at the earliest opportunity!" Ava exclaimed, now brimming with joy.
