Vritra's group confronted the Crow player, who attempted to flee but was quickly overtaken by Vritra's superior speed. Captured mid-air, Crow confessed under torture that Sonic had massacred everyone in Hankton City before Vritra burned him alive. Surveying the gruesome ruins of Hankton, they pressed on to the next city, which bizarrely showed no signs of the apocalypse—intact buildings and humans strolling peacefully—sparking Vritra's confusion.

"What is this city now?" Confusion gripped them all as they gazed upon the seemingly ordinary city.

"This should be Renko city, how could this place remain intact?" Maeve felt equally stunned.

"I guess we will have to go in and check."

As the blood cart drew near the city, Vritra detected a massive bubble encircling it entirely.

This shield was repelling all mutants and even the raging floodwaters.

"Who are you?" A thunderous voice boomed from within, and moments later, several humans materialized before them.

All of them were airborne.

"We want to cross through to the other side." Vritra declared, sensing no malice—just fierce protectiveness.

The men exchanged glances before one replied.

"We will have to go and inform our lord. If you don't have a problem, can you wait here for us?"

"Yes, as long as you don't take too long." Vritra answered with a casual shrug, intrigue building about the city and its lord.

Could it be another player?

Only entering would reveal the truth.

They waited briefly until the guards returned; Vritra noticed distant eyes scrutinizing them.

He remained unfazed, simply biding his time.

"You can enter but you will have to wear these rings." The guards stated, presenting ten black metal rings.

"And what are these?" He questioned as the rings drifted forward, manipulated by one of the men.

"These rings are worn by everyone inside Renko city; they ensure safety for you and others. Harm anyone, and you'll be teleported out of the bubble instantly." The guard clarified.

Vritra nodded while claiming his ring.

Everyone stowed their rings away, but to the illusion-bound guards, it seemed they had donned them all.

"That's good; you don't seem here to cause trouble." The guards exhaled, tension easing.

The bubble parted, granting the blood cart passage inside.

"Whoa, how is this place so peaceful?" Shitless marveled, while Vritra fixated on the alert flashing before his eyes.

[You have encountered a player!]

'So a player is really here? The lord they mentioned? Why protect these humans?' He pondered deeply.

"It is all because of our lord; he has guarded this city for ages, sustaining our lives and supplying ample food." The guard proclaimed with deep reverence.

"Do we need to go meet this lord of yours or something?" Vritra inquired, grappling with the idea of a virtuous player.

If truly benevolent, ending him would burden his conscience.

Such an act would condemn all these sheltered survivors to death.

Protected so long, their strength had barely advanced.

"It's your choice; he doesn't force anything. You can leave whenever you wish." The guard grinned broadly.

They revered him like a divine savior.

"Alright, I would like to go meet this lord of yours." Vritra agreed.

"Oh good choice; maybe the lord will provide food for your journey." The guard replied, as one escorted them deeper into the city.

They descended to the ground and climbed into two cars; even the vehicles operated flawlessly here.

Vritra scanned the structures, homes, and relaxed inhabitants everywhere.

No hint of panic or terror lingered.

Eliminating the player would indirectly doom them all, wouldn't it?

Vritra paused momentarily, retrieving the black ring from his inventory for closer inspection.

"Dear, killing players is part of our mission, but slaying him would shatter this city." Diana and the rest voiced the shared concern.

It posed a grueling dilemma.

"Hmm, we will decide that later." Vritra responded, lacking a clear resolution himself.

Fiddling with the black ring between his fingers, they soon pulled up to a grand luxurious building.

"This is where our lord resides!" The guard announced; the drive lasted only about 30 minutes.

"Is he a good guy?" Teresa blurted out.

"Of course he is; without him, we'd all be dead." The guard affirmed proudly.

They stepped from the cars, and the guard beckoned them to follow inside.

"These people have come to meet the lord." He declared. The sentries appraised the group, eyes widening at the women, then nodded and hurried within.

After a few minutes, the guard rushed back, breathless: "You can enter; the lord is hearing his subjects' troubles now."

Vritra nodded, guiding everyone into the opulent structure.

Guards manned the area heavily, mostly wielding guns.

The locals' overall power remained feeble; numerous were still unawakened.

They navigated a lengthy corridor bedecked with priceless gems and stunning artwork.

"This lord sure loves to flaunt luxury." Diana commented, noting the opulence amid the outer world's despair.

"Yeah, holing up here—how does he amass strength to fend off threats?" Vanessa wondered.

Emerging from the corridor, they entered a vast hall reminiscent of bygone eras.

A imposing throne loomed at the forefront, with rows of seats lining both sides like a royal court.

Men clad in lavish attire from diverse cultures occupied the seats, while a cluster stood centrally.

They had likely come to voice grievances.

Upon the throne reclined a dashing man in his late twenties or early thirties.

His robe revealed a sculpted, muscular build.

One leg slung over the armrest, he lounged back indolently.

He radiated the aura of a charming playboy—master of seduction, eternally carefree.

Vritra shifted focus to the status display instead.

[You have come in contact with a player!]

[Eliminate him to steal his ascension path and opportunities!]

[Player: Magna]

[Ability: Steal]

[Ascension Path: Bubble Domain]

'Steal?' Vritra echoed inwardly, as Magna's eyes roamed the group, his ennui evaporating instantly.

"You are the new residents of Renko city?" He leaned forward, flashing a wide smile.

"We are not; anyway, are you a good guy? How does this bubble thing work?" Vritra countered.

"Huh?" The lord blinked in surprise, his stare flicking from the women to Vritra.

Spotting him, he scowled faintly, envious of Vritra's superior allure.

No wonder he traveled with such company.

Brushing off the query, he proclaimed: "I am the lord of this city and have a lot of food; I am the sole reason this place is safe!"

Everyone in the hall bowed low, offering profound respect.

"So do any of you want to join me in my great cause?" Magna pressed with gravity; he had assembled a vast harem within these walls.

Yet none matched these women's splendor.
