Vritra's group arrived at a survivor outpost run by Smoker and his men, who eyed the women with lust while offering shelter. Ribbit probed their strength by knocking but was dragged inside by Onest, where Shitless and Sonia tortured him for information on a crow man player, muffling his screams to sound sexual and deceive the others. Despite extracting details and Ribbit's desperate pleas, the group decided to spare his life.

After resting for several hours beside his wives, Vritra and his group soon prepared to resume their travels.

Naturally, their initial objective remained slaying the two players, with the sole hurdle being their whereabouts.

Once awake, they bathed using water from their inventory and changed into fresh outfits.

"Time to check what Onest and Shitless discovered," Vritra declared as everyone exited the room.

Maeve extended her shadows across every direction; she had grown accustomed to monitoring all surroundings.

KNOCK KNOCK

"Who's there?" a woman's voice echoed from within.

"It's me," Vritra replied, rolling his eyes.

"Welcome, pitiful one!" Shitless greeted with a wide grin, positioned at the entrance.

"What have you uncovered?" Vritra inquired, his eyes shifting to the blood-smeared window.

Ribbit dangled outside the window still, mouth crammed with Shitless's socks, arms shattered.

He remained utterly helpless.

"Toss him into the water to nourish the mutants," Diana approached the window and poisoned him with a finger snap.

"Got it!" Shitless agreed, severing the rope binding his feet.

"Mmm! MMphhh!!" Muffled cries escaped as his form plunged into the water with a splash.

"Huh? Something drop in?" Guards below peered down but paid little heed.

Ribbit submerged, chair still bound to him.

"We learned a crow-like figure visited recently, nearly eradicating everyone; he was immensely powerful, hunting someone called Sonic," Onest explained.

"Understood. Let's consult the rest and probe for more details," Vritra proposed.

They departed the room, ascending to higher levels where Smoker schemed with his crew.

Vritra grew impatient with lingering here; tormenting these fools amused him, yet he yearned to swiftly conclude the hunt.

Several guards loitered in the corridor.

"Here for the boss?" one queried, his gaze lingering on the women.

Vritra sighed, lifted his right arm, flicked empty space—and instantly, guards' heads exploded into gory pulp.

Corpses collapsed, forming a crimson puddle.

"They're all in there, plotting uselessly," Vritra grumbled; walls posed no barrier to his sight.

"Hold on, allow me first," Shitless urged, relishing the chaos.

He morphed into Sonia and rapped on the door.

A man swung it open, stunned by Sonia's presence, and hastily alerted his leader.

"Whoa, you lead this bunch?!" Smoker gawked at the veiled beauty's reveal.

His eyes dropped to her ample chest, saliva pooling—damn Ribbit for tasting her first?

Licking lips lewdly, he stammered: "H-How may I assist? Hungry? Food aplenty here."

"Yes, private chat possible?" Shitless-as-Sonia purred, lip-biting seductively.

Shitless had mastered the act.

"O-Of course, private it is! You idiots, scram—can't you see a crucial discussion?!" Smoker barked in haste.

'Where's Ribbit? Worn out? Regardless, she's mine alone—no sharing with that other fool!' Smoker eyed Onest inwardly.

Quickly, subordinates were ejected, leaving Shitless and Smoker alone.

Vritra eyed the men; only Hunter mattered among them.

He nodded to smiling Vanessa.

Suddenly, illusions engulfed them all; Hunter stayed passive as others drew blades.

Seconds later, throats gushed open, bodies convulsing before thudding down.

In no time, they lay dead—Hunter oblivious.

Silence hung briefly, then Smoker's howls pierced the air.

His tricks failed against Shitless.

"What's going on?" Hunter jolted at the cries—shouldn't she scream?

"Inside, now!" He whirled, aghast at slit-throated bodies everywhere.

Skills nearly triggered, but invisible barriers immobilized him.

"Name doesn't matter—spill on recent powerhouses and their paths, or join the dead," Vritra intoned deliberately, voice terrifying Hunter.

"I-I'll talk!" Hunter surrendered immediately, repeating the intel.

"Good work," Vritra approved post-recital, hurling him aside.

His frame cratered the wall before flooding into waters.

Shitless emerged shortly, stone in hand.

"Pitiful one, blows loosened his tongue. The crow left this rock, instructing to shatter it upon Sonic's arrival."

Shitless stated, metallic form gleaming, arms bloodied.

"Simple enough—smash it," Vritra commanded, peeking at Smoker's dismembered remains strewn about.

CRACK

Shitless pulverized it at once; fragments belched smoke.

Smoke engulfed the floor, then billowed skyward.

"Up to the roof—likely the player," Yasmine said; post-grind, kills felt trivial.

They scaled to the rooftop, awaiting; roughly ten minutes later, a distant speck emerged.

"He's arriving," Maeve announced, fixated on the crowish shape.

WHOOSH

Player nearing, Vritra scanned his details.

[You have come in contact with a player!]

[Eliminate him to steal his ascension path and opportunities!]

[Player: Crow]

[Ability: Beast Evolution]

[Ascension Path: Beast Form]

"Crow—probe his knowledge first," Vritra held, as the seven-foot giant hovered overhead.

Wingbeats whipped fierce gusts; scanning eyes belonged to a crow-human hybrid.

A beak protruded from his face, black feathers cloaking his frame.

"KAW Who are you?" Unfazed by the stunning women, perhaps unique preferences.

"Hunting the other player?" Vritra countered.

"Indeed, but he fled the city already—why summon me?!" Tone lethal, murder brewing.

"His destination? Other players' spots?" Vritra pressed.

"…" Silently, Crow locked on Shitless, snarling:

"You broke my stone to the smoke fool—you slew him. Didn't he warn this turf's mine?"

"Ah, those 'kaw kaw' shrieks meant that?" Shitless queried, erupting in laughter.
