Vritra gained the Beast Surge Ascension path and Domain ability from eliminating a player, merging them to amplify his blood manipulation and control hordes of beasts. Empowered by Evelyn's red pill, he unleashed a frenzy of slaughter against endlessly spawning beasts, joined by his companions. Over two weeks of relentless combat, they evolved their ascension paths beyond 1000 attribute points and fully cleared the beast cave.

"At last, we're finished. I'm exhausted by this foul smell. Eating in this place is utterly irritating." Shitless grumbled.

"Exactly, all the racket has kept me from sleeping well. Sigh, check out these dark bags under my eyes. I resemble a damn Shitless now!" Onest remarked, watching his attractive features get wrecked.

"You thug, why stare at me while saying that and dropping my name?! Want to throw down, huh? Huh?"

True to form, the pair launched into their usual bickering.

After over fifteen days at last, Vritra got to unwind, even though the pill supplied boundless stamina and vigor, fatigue was now piling on.

Yet given his present power level, it amounted to little—a good rest would sort him out.

Laughing at their squabble, Vritra rested his head on Yennefer's lap while pulling up the status panel to check his stats.

The figures stood impressively high, though he'd burned plenty of sin points enhancing the ascension path, or else they'd soar even taller.

[Stats] (Strength: 9,925) (Agility: 9,995)

 (Endurance: 9,933) (Spiritual: 9,999) {Free Attribute: 0} 』

{Sin Points: 34} Vritra's power neared the tenth evolution milestone, starting at 100, then 1000, 2000, 4000, 5000, and onward.

Skipping the 3000 mark entirely.

His companions' stats lagged behind yet all had scraped into the ninth evolution, just scraping by.

Vritra now commanded roughly three thousand beasts simultaneously—this ability proved invaluable.

Morgan deserved his gratitude for it.

"These past three weeks brought brutal trials and fierce battles, thrusting us way beyond everyone else. No player has hit this stage yet, I bet." Fiona declared.

Truth be told, she relished the combat and moments with Vritra; blending them felt ideal.

Teresa let out a sigh; she'd slain heaps of monsters here, growing desensitized to slaughter.

It clashed with her old ideals, but she entrusted everything to Vritra—his words rang true.

Nothing else counted.

Once outside the gore-soaked cavern, the group settled down to recuperate.

"Heh, one punch from me could level the terrain now. Come on, thug, care to spar?" Shitless boasted, brimming with assurance.

Throughout, he'd merely smashed into foes and ripped them asunder.

No real combat skills to speak of, but his defenses loomed monstrously tough.

Vritra himself would require multiple strikes to injure him.

Onest's evasion skill and swiftness had evolved further as well.

"Pass, you couldn't lay a finger on me anyway—what's the use?" Onest replied lazily, stretching with a yawn.

"I'm curious how the world's shifted after these three weeks." Maeve murmured, proposing,

"Why don't I scout the area first?

In this doomsday, caution remains key, especially with those guardians and overseers lurking."

"No need, we're departing shortly anyhow. Rest up yourself."

Three tents went up: one for Vritra and his wives, the rest split between Shitless and Onest.

Following that prior mix-up, neither wanted to bunk together lest Vritra misunderstand again.

"Pushing at max velocity, the tower's about a week away, I figure.

Still, no reckless haste—we'll proceed vigilantly, even if it drags a touch longer." Vritra announced.

"Perfect, perhaps we all hit tenth evolution too." Vanessa added.

Battling beside her boy beat idling back at base by miles.

"Sweet dreams, ahh... onward at dawn..." Vritra murmured, embracing Vanessa on one flank and Yasmine on the other.

His spouses rotated sides for sleep, while Fiona favored draping over him, nestling her head on his chest before drifting off.

Before long, slumber claimed them all.

...

Come morning, a hearty breakfast and lunch fueled them, priming for departure.

Approaching the cave's entry point, a blockage sealed the way.

"I'll handle it." Maeve stated, shadows from her feet stretching toward the sealed passage.

They shoved, meeting more resistance from the mud than anticipated.

A firmer thrust from Maeve shoved the obstacle aside, unleashing a torrent of water inside.

Yennefer swiftly conjured an air shield around the group, blocking the deluge.

"What's happening? Has the city flooded completely?" the demoness gasped in shock, dispatching shadows to peer out.

The view stunned her worse.

"Hold on, it actually flooded?!" Maeve cried out.

"Out we go first." Yennefer urged, propelling the air bubble ahead as the cavern filled rapidly.

Upward it soared, bursting from the cascade of dark water.

Dense clouds blanketed the heavens, torrential rain hammered down, submerging the city.

Post-snow, waters now surged past fifteen feet deep.

They ascended skyward beyond the flood, spotting endless mutants thrashing below.

"Sigh, conditions have worsened dramatically—how will survivors endure?" Vanessa lamented, shaking her head.

Finishing the game might rescue the world, though locals' fates barely concerned them.

Most encounters proved antagonistic anyway.

Saving some wouldn't hurt if feasible, matching their ultimate aim.

"Indeed, the gods ramped up the game's challenge. We're safe enough—head out or hunt more mines?" he queried.

Forbidden areas held no peril anymore, possibly hiding attribute stones.

"Several forbidden zones lie nearby; we could swing by en route." Yasmine proposed.

"Yeah, checking them sounds smart." Maeve agreed.

"But won't that squander time, letting players power up?"

Diana countered, weighing both angles.

"Hmm, valid point." Vritra conceded with a nod.

Following debate, they opted to press on.

Attributes could come from slaying aquatic mutants en route, sans stones.

Their lofty stats meant more kills required, but hordes swarmed plentifully.

Plenty packed over 1k stats, quite formidable.

Any nearby forbidden zone or trove warranted a peek.

Resolved, Yasmine swept the vicinity with her mind, then unleashed potent spiritual blasts vaporizing thousands instantly.

Vritra forged a spacious blood cart complete with seating, hurtling it forth swiftly at modest height.

Vritra and Yasmine periodically fired spiritual surges, eradicating swarms of thousands.

Several kilometers later, a massive human outpost clashed with mutants.
