Vritra brutally dispatches a group of captors who threatened his wives, using his blood abilities to torture them before finishing them off. After discovering the trick behind the last survivor's damage-reflection skill, he breaks the connection and eliminates the threat. With his family successfully rescued and a new ascension stone secured, the group prepares to leave the cave, only to be ambushed by a mysterious attacker.

"..." Vritra squinted, recognizing the same mutant from earlier—the one sporting a mangled arm.

"Hell, not this speedy bastard again!" Onest yelped, stumbling backward and colliding with Shitless,

whose metallic cranium slammed squarely into Ergen’s visage.

Vritra rolled his eyes, lazily snatching the whip mid-air and giving it a sharp yank.

KKRRRRRAAA-?

The mutant was caught off-guard as its form was violently jerked; it suddenly realized that Vritra’s power had surged far beyond their previous encounter.

It had clearly been lying in wait, hoping to ambush Vritra after observing him venture inside.

A spear materialized in Vritra’s grip, and with one fluid slash, the mutant’s frame was cleaved in two.

RAAARRRRRRRRRR!!

Despite being bisected, the creature let out a ferocious roar and continued charging forward.

BANG

Vritra drove his spear deep into its brain, snuffing out its life for good.

"Hmm, Onest, see if this suits you." Vritra tossed the ascension stone toward him.

Ergen, nursing a nosebleed with a flushed face, looked on with envy; Vritra had practically discarded such a precious stone without a second thought.

"Oh… it actually fits!" Onest muttered, genuinely surprised that the ascension stones they scavenged—regardless of how random—somehow proved perfect for their needs.

"Good. Let’s press on," Vritra declared, turning his attention to Ergen. "Does your organization possess anything of value?"

"Not really. They mostly rely on the stronger teams for resources. Perhaps they discovered something after I left," Ergen said with a shrug.

"..." Vritra nodded. Now, only Diana remained without an ascension stone.

That was hardly an issue, though, as he possessed enough Sin Points to secure one; the divine entity would surely see to it.

"On our route to the cinema and the doctor, we’ll pass through their territory. But first, let’s rest so you can all ascend in peace," he directed.

Finding no faults in his logic, the others agreed, and Ergen led them toward a secure shelter.

"Are you holding up alright?" Vritra reached for Yasmine's hand, his gaze drifting to her abdomen.

There were no visible changes yet.

"I’m fine, and I doubt any harm will befall me while wearing that charm," she replied, resting her head against his shoulder.

The cart accelerated, and any mutant unfortunate enough to stand in their path had its head summarily exploded.

"Sir, this is a sector that rarely sees any mutants. It’s held by an organization known as the Survivors—it’s packed with them," Ergen explained.

"...Let’s head in." Vritra surveyed the sprawling shopping complex, topped by a towering hotel.

Upon crossing the threshold, they were met by dozens of guards.

Though thousands lived here, rations were incredibly sparse.

"Why are you here?" one of the men barked, brandishing a knife.

"We’re survivors, take it easy. We just need a place to stay for a while," Ergen quickly intervened.

"We aren't taking in any more refugees; there's no food left here—"

Vritra, impatient, produced a stash of provisions and dropped it on the floor.

"We don’t want your rations. This is our entry toll, and it's every bit of food we possess," Vritra stated before marching into the building.

The men eyed the bounty in stunned joy, though greed quickly flickered in their gazes as they focused on Vritra.

"Also, don't harbor any foolish notions. I can wipe your entire group out in a heartbeat."

True to his word, blades constructed of solidified blood suddenly manifested against their throats.

Paralyzed with terror, they frantically nodded their assent.

Ergen followed close behind, silently grateful that Vritra hadn't cast him aside despite Ming's past transgressions.

"This complex has sufficient space; we’ll be requisitioning these rooms. You three should get some rest," Vritra commanded.

He compensated the current occupants with food to ensure they vacated the premises.

They ate their fill, finally able to rest after several exhausting days.

The tension, the worry over Vritra, and the arrival of those men had drained them entirely.

'Morgan, I will ensure you suffer more than anyone else,' Vritra thought, his blood boiling at the memory of that bastard using others as pawns.

"Go on ahead. I’ll keep watch," Vritra assured them.

"It won't cause too much of a stir, will it?" Teresa asked.

"Of course not. Just proceed as planned. It’ll only take a day—relax and go with the flow," he replied with a serene smile.

His composure put them at ease.

The six wives split into three rooms, two to each.

Only Diana stayed by his side.

"My dear, it seems I’ll have to wait a little longer," she remarked, though she sounded far from displeased.

She now had the rare chance to spend time with Vritra in total isolation.

"Don't worry, I’ll track one down for you immediately," Vritra patted the goddess's head, her silken white hair feeling exquisite to the touch.

"Draw from the 1,000-point reward pool using fifty-eight thousand points," he muttered, holding the remaining million in reserve for a larger, higher-value haul.

[You have obtained 3 Agility attribute points!]

[You have obtained 1,000 beds!]

[You have obtained 10,000 bottles of cola!]

Vritra tallied the results of all fifty-eight draws.

[You have obtained the Adaptive Support Ascension Path!]

"There it is. Good work, Divine," Vritra said, retrieving the stone from his inventory and handing it over.

He didn't even bother checking; that Divine scumbag might be a bottom-tier piece of trash, but he was certainly efficient when it came to loot.

"Ouch, you didn’t have to break me..." the Divine entity whined pitifully.

"Thank you, my dear." Diana beamed, pressing her lips to Vritra’s in a passionate kiss.

She had been worried she wouldn't have time alone with him.

The kiss lingered longer than anticipated, followed by a warm embrace as they whiled away the time chatting.

Diana was reluctant to depart, but after an hour, she finally commenced her transformation.

Ensconced in their beds, the women were soon enveloped by shifting currents of energy.

"Looks like I’m stuck here for a day," he whispered, stepping out and clicking the door shut.

The rooms were situated in a row.

"Time to check in on the boys; I wonder what Shitless and Onest are getting up to," Vritra chuckled as he wandered toward the room across the hall, shoving the door open.

"Kekeke! Bastard, you’re finally going to get it. Stop squirming! Let me hit you!" Shitless cackled, imitating a B-movie villain.

He was grappling with Onest's pants while the victim put up a desperate fight.

Suddenly, the air froze as they realized the door was wide open.

The red-skinned, mutant-like Shitless was straddling Onest’s legs, while Onest lay on his back, clutching his trousers tightly.

Vritra stood in the frame, his expression entirely unreadable.

The silence stretched, thick and suffocating; they could vividly sense his disappointment and his deep-seated misunderstanding of the scene.

"Apologies, guys. Pray, continue," he murmured, slowly pulling the door shut.

"P-Pitifulllll oneeeeeeee!" Shitless screamed, absolute terror freezing his blood as his life flashed before his eyes.

"Waaaaaiiiiittttttttttttt-!!" Onest shrieked, scrambling off the bed toward the closing door.

"It isn't what it looks like! I was just trying to spank him, please hear us out—I'minnocent!" Shitless wailed.

"I was the victimmmmmmmmm!!" Onest shouted in desperation.
