Once Yennefer had stepped into the coffin, Vritra resolved to venture outside and wipe out some lowlifes. He also aimed to investigate whether they linked to the recent shifts.
As soon as he soared from the dwelling, a vibration from the glyph in his storage pouch alerted him. He retrieved it and saw that Shitless was trying to contact him.
While keeping up his flight, he pulled out the glyph and responded: "Are you two finished? Run into any issues?"
The sole concern at this point might involve the Divine Kage, since Vritra had only clashed with their fiftieth-ranked member before.
He possessed scant knowledge about that faction, pondering if demi-gods lurked within their ranks.
Or perhaps they wielded even fiercer assaults, which is why he avoided charging in blindly; for the moment, pressing matters demanded his focus.
"Yeah, we're nearly finished, Oracle and the rest are already gone." Shitless replied, though his voice carried an odd edge, before he continued:
"But with Oracle out of the picture, we won't dishonor the deceased, so we're giving him a proper send-off."
"Fine, handle it however you like." Vritra responded, catching the subtle splash of some fluid in the background.
Following a brief exchange and issuing more directives, Vritra ended the link and tucked the glyph away.
He pondered whether the monk had truly stirred a spark of kindness within himself.
…
Meanwhile, Onest and Shitless had dumped all the corpses into a hole and placed Oracle atop the pile.
The once-wealthy fellow had perished with sheer terror etched on his features; no one could have foreseen such a gruesome end for the esteemed head of a mighty syndicate.
Shitless let out a whistle and shuddered a touch as he urinated on Oracle's burial site, dispatching the soul to the underworld.
"Hurry up, don't hold back. Let's wash them with the sacred liquid muahahaha" Shitless cackled, unleashing it all.
Onest eyed his bald partner with a peculiar glance, but upon gazing at the despised Oracle, he chuckled as well and participated.
…
Currently, the dominant malevolent faction on Zoratia is Twilight; to rebuild their power, they've swallowed numerous lesser bands.
Thus, beyond Twilight, hardly any wicked outfits remain, though pinpointing every outpost won't prove simple.
However, with the populace now in slumber, those foes would grow wary, leaving only the lords free to roam.
After a brief reflection, he opted to visit the planetary data hub overseen by Maeve.
It stood on the mainland, allowing Vritra to reach it in mere instants.
Though most staff slumbered as well, a handful remained vigilant.
Vritra swiftly entered their headquarters, his sudden arrival initially alarming the crew.
Yet they all recognized Vritra's status, shifting to deference without delay.
"Sir, is Golden Moon plotting a major move? Rumors say every seat got slain at the Fords' wedding feast." The interim leader in Maeve's stead inquired.
"No, that was my doing. Regardless, I need details on Twilight's every outpost, any useful intel to track them all down." Vritra declared gravely.
"Understood, I'll share all we have." The man named Crow, who had crossed paths with Vritra earlier, answered promptly.
His power had surged considerably over recent years, and thanks to his ties with Maeve, he held a lofty role.
Vritra lingered as Crow rushed off to compile the data; with most folks knocked out, the effort dragged on slightly.
…
In about twenty minutes, Crow returned in haste with the full dossier, all encoded in a glyph.
"Sir, just place it to your brow and access everything." He instructed.
"Good work." Vritra acknowledged, testing it immediately by pressing it to his temple.
Shutting his eyes, a flood of details surged into his mind at once.
It covered key figures, their lairs, and beyond.
"Fine, I'll scout those now." Vritra stated and vanished.
What ensued was utter devastation; Vritra extended zero pity.
Upon hitting each site, he launched straight into slaughter, regardless of their comatose state.
The reek of blood on them revealed countless murders in their past.
Shifting from spot to spot, he eradicated every target in reach. The lord-tier ones proved trickier to locate, as many hid afar.
He even deployed soul wraiths for the hunt. Crow's data encompassed even fresh inductees.
The planetary data hub had evolved into the world's true knowledge vault.
Hovering mid-air, he realized tackling the lords would challenge him, given their scattered concealments.
"Hmph, I'll expand the hunt zone; only the lords hold the clues I seek." He muttered, then triggered dust manipulation without pause.
Instantly, countless dust-formed humanoids materialized, each resembling blank puppets.
Vritra infused them with immense power, boosting every one to lord level, then directed them via thought to fan out everywhere.
Through this, he could unearth the concealed villains from that sinister group.
"Oh, and where's Red?" he mused. That traitor ignited the whole mess and even dragged in that imposter resembling his mother.
Like Oracle, Red merited an agonizing demise.
As Vritra pursued this, his spouses tackled their individual duties.
With all in deep sleep, snaring monsters turned far simpler.
Still, they sensed this marked merely the opening salvo of ruin, with chaos bound to escalate ahead.
For the present, their might sufficed to manage, yet future twists remained unpredictable.
Perhaps launching the ordeals stood as the sole path forward.
And to achieve that, Vritra needed to first seize Jack's destiny and then fell at least a single demon lord.
…
Hours later, Yasmine, Vanessa, Fiona, and Diana made their way back to the House of Darkness.
Mentally drained from the turmoil, the toll of lives lost wasn't minor, yet their efforts spared countless others.
Soon Vritra reappeared as well; he had slain thousands from Twilight and allied groups, while seizing numerous lords.
"Hubby, uncover anything?" Yasmine queried the instant Vritra arrived.
"Nothing yet, but I'm about to interrogate Twilight's captives. Come on." He replied, teleporting the quartet alongside him into the book of dimensions.
Before them huddled a cluster of lords, eighteen males in total.
Red lurked among them too. Ultimately, Vritra had tracked the coward fleeing the mainland.
He likely caught wind of Vritra's comeback and bolted early, but alas, Vritra snared him regardless.
"These swine!" Diana spat curses right away upon spotting them, fully versed in their atrocities.
"Very well, we'll kick off with a warning." Vritra announced, pivoting toward the bunch; skipping any queries, he whisked two away from the rest.
These mighty lords now appeared utterly terrified, pleading nonstop despite their might.
