Vritra finds himself pushed to the brink of death while battling the Demi God Drino within a crushing domain of scales. Despite summoning his soul wraiths and utilizing his divine abilities to replenish his energy, the overwhelming gap in power leaves Vritra’s body shredded and his healing factor failing. Drino, now intent on seizing Vritra’s mythic halos and treasures, bypasses a critical blood lock technique using a mysterious artifact. The desperate struggle reaches a breaking point when Drino unleashes a final, silent strike that causes Vritra’s body to explode into a massive storm.

Drino’s laughter echoed across the battlefield as he witnessed one of his most potent strikes hit home. Now, only the final blow remained before he could claim his spoils.

‘This luck is incredible! Not only will I receive the god’s favor, but I’ll also secure two mythic halos!’ Drino felt a deep sense of triumph.

In his eyes, Vritra was a complete moron for dragging him back here just to hand over such priceless treasures on a silver platter.

However, as he approached the epicenter of the blast, the residual energy was suddenly vacuumed away, revealing a perfectly intact Vritra.

“The versatility of Null is quite impressive,” Vritra whispered. Although his physical state remained fragile, his body had been restored.

“How unexpected. No one has ever survived that technique before,” Drino admitted, though he quickly regained his composure. “You have potential, kid. You could have been great if you had just listened to me.”

He felt a wave of relief that he had chosen to eliminate Vritra now; letting such a threat grow would have led to disaster in the future.

“Tell me, lizard, how much longer do you have left on this world?” Vritra asked while stretching his limbs.

“Plenty of time to slaughter you and reclaim that woman,” Drino countered, his face contorting into a hideous grin as the conflict reignited.

While Drino ramped up his aggression, Vritra focused entirely on his defensive maneuvers.

WHOOOSH

Vritra managed to evade a strike and deliver a powerful kick to the creature's skull, but the impact barely caused Drino’s head to budge.

‘Dammit. Even using Shift, Forbidden, and every skill in my arsenal, I can't break his defense. My only shot is the Radioactive Fist; I need to keep charging it.’ Vritra gnashed his teeth and flickered away.

The meter for his Radioactive Fist climbed steadily with every blow he took or dealt.

Given the sheer destructive power of Drino’s strikes, the eventual discharge of this fist was bound to be catastrophic.

BANG

BOOOOM

Drino pushed his speed to the limit, his power swelling with every passing second. He aimed for Vritra’s vitals, but the young man managed to slip through his fingers every time.

“Stop resisting, you pathetic insect! You have no path to victory!” Drino’s fury boiled over. He couldn't comprehend how a mere level 1 Demi-God was managing to stay alive against him.

Vritra manifested a massive blade from Goop and swung it at Drino’s neck, but the edge failed to leave a mark.

The beast leaped high into the air, kicking off the boundary of his domain to launch himself at Vritra, whose form was starting to blur.

SWISH

Vritra’s left arm was severed just a heartbeat before his teleportation triggered.

Even with his spatial abilities, Vritra was struggling to stay ahead of the onslaught. Pushed to the brink, he invoked a time-stop, which drained a massive portion of his mana reserves.

He summoned his Soul Wraiths once more to swarm the enemy, but Drino’s innate physical resistance was simply too high.

“I’VE HAD ENOUGH!” the Demi-God roared in a fit of rage. He shattered the Soul Wraiths effortlessly and plunged his hand directly into one of Vritra’s hearts.

BOOOOOM

A violent explosion forced them apart as one of Vritra's hearts was obliterated. Coughing up crimson blood, Vritra’s face turned deathly pale; the odds were stacked impossibly against him.

He collapsed to the ground. Before he could attempt to retreat, Drino slammed down onto him, pinning him under a heavy boot to the chest.

With a whip-like motion, Drino’s tail pierced Vritra’s chest again, destroying his second heart. Vritra’s vision began to dim into darkness.

Though his body fought to regenerate, time was running out, and Drino’s chaotic energy was already ravaging his internal systems.

“No more games. Die!” Drino screamed. He swung his blade downward, hacking off Vritra’s right hand.

“Be grateful that you perish by my hand, and I thank you for the gifts you've brought me.” With a twisted smirk, Drino brought the heavy weapon down for the kill.

Atomic, Elegy Parasite, and Goop immediately surged to the surface, forming a desperate shield against the lethal blow.

CLANG

The blade actually recoiled off his chest, but Goop was nearly depleted and Atomic was flickering on the verge of failure.

Elegy Parasite was equally powerless to change the tide of the battle.

“Just how many treasures and skills are you hiding? It seems my haul today will be legendary, hahaha!” Drino was ecstatic, realizing he might even be able to steal the Divine's own techniques.

With such power, could he eventually stand above the gods themselves?

He didn't hesitate. Raising both arms, he gripped his massive blade with all his might.

He channeled his energy frantically, preparing his ultimate technique to erase Vritra in a single strike.

Drino’s muscles trembled as the blade expanded in size, causing the very fabric of space to hum with tension.

If this hit connected, Vritra’s existence would be extinguished.

‘Move… I have to move…’ As he regained a sliver of consciousness, Vritra tried to teleport, but his body wouldn't respond. He could only watch as the gargantuan blade descended toward him.

Using the last drops of his mana, Vritra restored his right arm and pointed it weakly at Drino, preparing to trigger the Radioactive Fist.

WHOOSH

Suddenly, a long, pinkish fabric shot out from the distance, wrapping around Drino’s arms and yanking his aim off-course.

BOOOOOOOM

Drino couldn't arrest his momentum. Instead of crushing Vritra, his strike obliterated the ground right next to him.

In the ensuing chaos, Vritra finally managed to teleport to safety. The terrain for hundreds of kilometers was vaporized, sending a pillar of destruction into the heavens.

The shockwave was visible across the entire continent; survivors watched in horror, believing the apocalypse had arrived.

The display of power far exceeded anything seen during the war. Organizations like the Golden Moon chose to stay far away, terrified of the scale of the destruction.

They assumed the Divine Kage was finally making a move against a major enemy.

It took several minutes for the dust to settle. Drino stared at the massive crater in a stupor.

Vritra had escaped death yet again. But what had interfered at the final second?

He turned around, eyes burning with fury, only to see a group of women standing by the battered Vritra.

Vanessa, Fiona, Diana, and Maeve had all arrived on the scene.

Vanessa stood holding the weapon bestowed upon her by the Divine; it was a formidable tool, though it clearly strained her current power level to use it.

“M-Mom? Diana? Fiona… Foxie? What are you doing here?” Vritra asked between ragged breaths as his healing factor kicked in.

“What do you mean? We’re here to support you.” Vanessa looked at her son’s mangled body and cast a freezing glare at Drino.

“He’s too strong for you to face at your level—” Vritra began, but Drino cut him off.

“So, this is your family? Excellent. Since you’ve all gathered, I’ll just bury the whole lot of you together.”

Drino eyed them greedily, wondering if killing them would yield even more loot.

They were only at the Lord rank; in his mind, they posed no threat at all.

Fiona, however, was trembling with a murderous rage. Someone had dared to harm her husband, and she intended to burn that monster to ashes.

Before Vritra could even utter a warning, the redhead had already charged straight at the beast.
