Qing Qiushi's disciples are worried about him as they race back. Meanwhile, An Jiuyue and the others are frustrated by the Evil Dragon's inability to learn the Spirit Selection Art. They begin to suspect he may have never cultivated before, leading An Jiuyue to question Qian Jiyun.

As this particular cultivation method cannot be passed down and is even difficult to record, its practice becomes rather aimless. For the Evil Dragon, specifically, given his innate talent, he might not even require comprehension; he could naturally wield Ice Series Techniques.

Qian Jiyun exclaimed with a sudden realization, acknowledging the correctness of An Jiuyue's perspective.

Previously, he had focused solely on imparting techniques to the Evil Dragon, never once considering whether the dragon had even mastered basic spell techniques.

If the dragon hadn't grasped the fundamentals of spells, how could he possibly learn advanced Techniques? How could he possibly understand anything? It was entirely comprehensible.

"I understand now," he stated, nodding before turning to walk towards the Evil Dragon.

However, before he could proceed, another thought surfaced, causing him to pause and look back at An Jiuyue.

"An Jiuyue, allow me to cook for you first. What dish would you prefer?"

Given the considerable delay already incurred, a little more time would hardly matter. His priority was ensuring An Jiuyue was comfortable and not left hungry.

"No need, Wei Na is already cooking. It will be ready shortly," An Jiuyue replied, shaking her head.

The task of instructing an ignorant Evil Dragon was tremendously draining. She couldn't possibly burden the man with cooking for her as well.

While Wei Na's cooking skills were not exceptional, certainly not on par with Qian Jiyun's, as long as the food was edible, it sufficed. The crucial point was that the Evil Dragon learned what he needed; Wei Na could handle all future meals.

"Go ask him."

"Alright," Qian Jiyun responded.

Indeed, his immediate desire was to ascertain precisely which techniques the Evil Dragon had learned.

...

"Techniques? What techniques are you referring to?" The Evil Dragon inquired, his large, bewildered eyes fixed on Qian Jiyun as he approached once more.

"Have you acquired any techniques before? Tell me everything," Qian Jiyun pressed, a premonition of trouble already forming, yet he felt compelled to ask again.

"I haven't learned any techniques at all. Do I need to? Don't you just get them by sleeping?" the Evil Dragon retorted defensively.

Qian Jiyun was momentarily speechless.

Whose techniques were acquired simply through sleep? It seemed exclusive to the individual before him.

This fellow explained his inability to learn anything; he hadn't even mastered basic spell techniques. How could he possibly grasp more profound ones? Of course, 'profound' was relative to the Evil Dragon's limited understanding.

He inhaled deeply, then let out a heavy sigh.

"Very well, we shall not pursue these for now."

Reaching out, he retrieved the two technique books from the Evil Dragon's vicinity, storing them away. He then produced another book, placing it before the dragon.

"Learn this first."

"What kind of technique is this?" the Evil Dragon asked, utterly bewildered.

He hadn't even begun to comprehend the essence of the other two techniques, and now he was presented with yet another. With such a proliferation of techniques, it seemed miraculous if he could master any of them.

Couldn't he just focus on learning one technique at a time?

"This is a basic spell technique. It is imperative that you master this thoroughly before attempting any other technique," Qian Jiyun instructed.

"What is the purpose of this technique?" the Evil Dragon queried.

Regardless of its fundamental nature, his sole concern was its utility for himself.

"It is useful, exceptionally so. For someone like you, a novice, if you cannot grasp basic spell techniques, do not even contemplate learning others. It would be utterly impossible for you to succeed," Qian Jiyun declared with firm resolve.

"Cease your questions and accompany me to learn."

Noticing the Evil Dragon's continued inclination to speak, he cut him off directly, his tone turning cold.

To be ignorant yet argumentative, unwilling to learn this fundamental skill—what else did he expect to learn? With his current limited capacity, acquiring anything significant would be unattainable.
