An Jiuyue inquired about the Imperial Immortal Technique, only to learn its purpose was to suppress cultivation. The Stone People revealed the technique was intended for the "Evil Dragon," whom they described as exceptionally silly and lacking an evil heart. This dragon's naivete, however, could aid them in locating other Evil Dragons within the Beast Domain.

With the departure of the Stone People, the Evil Dragon grew visibly excited, its form wriggling within Qian Jiyun’s grasp. It turned its gaze to An Jiuyue, its voice brimming with anticipation.

An Jiuyue could only sigh, looking up at the heavens. At this moment, she truly understood just how exceptionally foolish this Evil Dragon was.

"Not yet," she replied, a negative shake of her head.

"Why not?"

The Evil Dragon let out a low growl. The Stone People had already pledged to give it to him, so why was it still not possible?

"Of course not! The Imperial Immortal Technique is a foundational secret art of Wulong Mountain. As the High Priest of Demon Heart, how could I possibly hand over Wulong Mountain’s most guarded skill to an outsider? Even if you were but a simple demonic beast, it would be out of the question, let alone being an Evil Dragon!"

An Jiuyue countered, her eyebrows raised as she fixed her gaze on the creature.

The Evil Dragon mulled over her words, conceding that she had a point. It was, after all, a profound secret art belonging to Wulong Mountain. Bestowing it so carelessly would indeed feel inappropriate.

If his own precious treasures were given away so easily, he too would feel a sense of unease. He recalled the days when the Beastmen had taken his medicinal herbs without recompense, a slight that had festered within him for days.

"Then what is it you desire? I possess a vast quantity of herbs; perhaps we could arrange an exchange?" he proposed.

He could always replant his herbs, but the opportunity to acquire the Imperial Immortal Technique might never present itself again. This seemed like a trade worthy of consideration.

"I have ample herbs; yours are not needed," An Jiuyue stated plainly, shaking her head.

A few measly herbs in exchange for the Imperial Immortal Technique? What a preposterous notion!

"Then tell me what you want!"

The Evil Dragon pressed, quickly realizing that the High Priest Demon Heart expected him to name his price, not the other way around.

"Hmm, let me ponder..."

An Jiuyue tilted her head, feigning deep thought.

"Our primary objective on this expedition is to eliminate an Evil Dragon. How about this: while we are on our journey, you assist us in locating the target Evil Dragon. In return, I shall grant you the Imperial Immortal Technique. What do you say to that?"

She presented her offer.

"Absolutely not!"

The Evil Dragon immediately rejected the proposal. As an Evil Dragon himself, how could he possibly lead humans to hunt down one of his own kind? That was an act fundamentally against his nature!

"I am an Evil Dragon; I cannot possibly guide you to slay another of my brethren. That would be akin to contributing to a grievous sin! No, it is out of the question!"

He also harbored a suspicion. These two were clearly specialists in slaying Evil Dragons. What if, after they had eradicated all the Evil Dragons in the Beast Domain, they turned on him?

Would he not then be left with nothing, his life extinguished as well?

"And what assurance do I have that you won't betray me later? No, I cannot agree to this!"

An Jiuyue lowered her head, a soft chuckle escaping her lips upon hearing his remark.

This Evil Dragon was rather amusing, even contemplating the possibility of them betraying him later.

"As the High Priest Demon Heart, do you truly believe I would engage in such treachery? You are worrying unnecessarily. If this Dragon Slaying mission proves successful, you will be hailed as a great hero, and I shall ensure you are rewarded justly. Perhaps you could retire to Wulong Mountain or Huayan Peak afterward?"

She inquired, her tone conciliatory.

"This... It does sound rather appealing."

The Evil Dragon hesitated for a fleeting moment before a sense of temptation began to stir within him.

He had grown weary of his life in Breathless Forest. The laborious task of cultivating herbs himself was taxing, and the constant thievery by assorted individuals was most infuriating. The worst part was his inability to retaliate against these pilferers!

Each instance of witnessing his precious herbs being stolen left him simmering with silent rage!

"At that time, would I be permitted a secluded patch of woods to cultivate my herbs? A place where no one is allowed to set foot inside." He specifically emphasized the 'no one', ensuring his herbs would be safe from any further theft.

"Certainly."

An Jiuyue readily agreed, contemplating placing the Evil Dragon's retirement dwelling near the vicinity of the Stone People.
