An Jiuyue and Qian Jiyun arrive at a valley, but An Jiuyue is unable to place her residence there. They realize the valley is shaped strangely, and soon deduce that the "ice" they observed is actually the Evil Dragon lying dormant.

"Let's move back a bit."

An Jiuyue handed the whip she held to Qian Jiyun as she spoke to Bai Yan and the two others. The proximity to the Evil Dragon was too dangerous; she hadn't anticipated finding it so close by, right under their noses. She wondered if this Evil Dragon was too complacent, remaining unmoved even with intruders nearby, perhaps thinking them no match.

Qian Jiyun accepted the whip and, after watching the others retreat, swung it towards the gorge. The whip's crack echoed, causing the ice surface to splinter and shatter. Chunks of ice rained down upon the Evil Dragon, gradually revealing its form.

"Who dares disturb my slumber?" a voice boomed. The Evil Dragon's body slowly rose, its gaze fixed on Qian Jiyun. "Who are you?" it questioned, surprised to find a human. How had a human reached its domain? The demonic beasts had long since fled the Breathless Forest, and it was certain that few from the Beast Domain could make it this far, let alone survive the freezing temperatures.

"Such profound cultivation, no wonder you found me," the Evil Dragon mused. It attempted to gauge Qian Jiyun's cultivation level but found itself unable to grasp its depth, which only intensified its curiosity. Leaning its massive head closer, You Di inquired, "Where do you hail from, human? No, you carry the scent of other Evil Dragons. Tsk, you're an Evil Dragon Slayer, perhaps from Wulong Mountain or Huayan Peak?"

Qian Jiyun remained silent. He found it peculiar that the Evil Dragon was so calm, knowing he was here to slay it. Furthermore, its knowledge of his potential origins implied it knew everything. "Since you know, why don't you flee?" he asked.

"Why should I run?" the Evil Dragon responded, perplexed. "I am a benevolent Evil Dragon. Since birth, I have never taken a life, nor have I even harmed an ant. If you kill an Evil Dragon like me, then you are the one who is murderous."

Qian Jiyun was taken aback. How could slaying an Evil Dragon be considered wrong? Meanwhile, An Jiuyue and the others, overhearing the Evil Dragon's declaration from a distance, were bewildered. They questioned if the Evil Dragon truly believed it hadn't harmed a single ant, considering the fate of the scouts from Yanbei City.

An Jiuyue glanced at the Flame City Master before turning her attention back to the Evil Dragon. Understanding finally dawned; the strange occurrences along their journey and the absence of frozen demonic beast corpses now made sense. The beasts hadn't been devoured by the Evil Dragon; they had simply moved far away from the Breathless Forest's perimeter.

"You don't eat?" Qian Jiyun inquired, his gaze cold.

"Don't you eat either?" the Evil Dragon retorted. It had lived for tens of thousands of years, and though it had only recently reached adulthood, it had existed for a long time. If it didn't eat, it would have long since withered away. "I'm a vegetarian. Didn't you notice the fields of herbs on your way here? I planted them all myself. You humans... oh, no, those beastmen often come to steal my herbs, and I don't even argue with them!" Considering this, it considered itself the kindest dragon, merely turning a blind eye when the beastmen trespassed into the Breathless Forest to pilfer its herbs every few days.
