Min Yi learns that the Saintess Sect, despite its name, is not solely in control of the city, but rather the major clans hold economic power. He expresses a desire to investigate and potentially eliminate the Saintess Sect. Qing Qiushi cautions him, explaining that many major clans and families, including his own, have members who are

"Uncle Qiushi, could you please investigate the Saintess Sect for me soon? I need to know their numbers, from the Sect Master, Elders, and direct disciples, down to those in the Outer Sect or stationed in other cities. Get the full picture of all of them."

"This... Eldest Young Master, forgive my asking, but what are your intentions?" Qing Qiushi inquired.

"While traveling, I chanced upon some Saintess Sect disciples discussing their plan to pool their strength and break through a certain passage. I simply want to be better informed, just in case," Min Yi explained.

He couldn't possibly reveal the truth about unlocking the passage, so he relayed the information An Yilu had overheard. It was a plausible enough reason.

"Break through a passage? Huayan Peak?" Qing Qiushi furrowed his brows instantly.

The Saintess Sect certainly had an inflated sense of their own importance. Did they truly believe they could breach a passage merely by wishing it so? If it were that simple, would their Seasonal Moon Plane have remained sealed for so many years? And this entire matter wasn't even their initiative to begin with!

"It shouldn't be Huayan Peak; it’s another passage, leading to the Merciful Continent," Min Yi responded.

"Tsk."

Qing Qiushi still shook his head. Whether it was Huayan Peak or the Merciful Continent, these were not destinations that disciples of the Saintess Sect could tread lightly. They were truly vexing, stirring up so much trouble without the capability to resolve it, leaving all the planes to suffer the repercussions of their actions!

"Very well, Eldest Young Master, I shall dispatch someone to conduct the inquiry."

Taking a deep breath, he nodded. If the Saintess Sect truly lacked self-awareness and chose to provoke conflicts with other planes or continents, then they couldn't fault the major clans for showing no mercy. They couldn't be deceived by them repeatedly, could they? Surely, once this information became public, there would be ample major clans eager to step forward and teach those overconfident women from the Saintess Sect a valuable lesson!

Naturally, sending people to investigate the Saintess Sect's affairs required utmost discretion. He had to assign trusted individuals and ensure they avoided attracting any attention from the Saintess Sect.

...

"Bang!"

The sharp sound of pottery shattering on the ground echoed.

"What are you doing?"

Second Senior Brother looked at his Little Junior Sister, who was using a pottery shard like a punching bag, and immediately frowned, questioning her actions. Lately, he found her petty and malicious behavior increasingly difficult to tolerate, realizing only now how utterly blind he had been before.

"Hmph!"

Little Junior Sister, unable to articulate a response, simply let out a cold snort towards Second Senior Brother and averted her gaze. Previously, if Second Senior Brother noticed her distress, he would have rushed to comfort her with gentle words. Now, all he offered was a cold stare; how had the difference become so vast?

Observing Little Junior Sister's demeanor, Second Senior Brother could only take a deep breath, reminding himself to remain composed, as anger would serve no purpose. Little Junior Sister had long been spoiled by their collective indulgence.

He shook his head, squatting down to begin cleaning the fragments of the shattered teacup. "Allow me, Second Senior Brother; you should rest," Fifth Senior Brother immediately stepped forward and took over the task from Second Senior Brother. While Second Senior Brother appeared fine now, he had suffered a severe chest wound previously; it would take more than a month or two to heal, and he had lost a significant amount of blood during that ordeal.
